Enter SAVE80EDU at checkout.

Goes until March 2nd. Some pretty good deals, and the FAQ states you can use these commercially.

I know Neogaf isn't a hot deals forum, but I also know there are a lot of students that post here. Thought this would be a good opportunity to discuss their product line, and if it is worth buying these with Photoshop CS6 releasing so soon.
So, any thoughts?

My school is lucky enough to offer free downloads for CS5 through an agreement with Adobe, but that's still a pretty awesome deal.

My current computer is a piece of shit that will choke under any of these programs.

Any idea if I could attempt to use them on my current PC for the time being and then transfer them to a future computer down the road?

Urgh, you need a different purchase for Windows and Mac? I use a Windows Desktop + MacBook Pro x.x This is a crazy price though.

What's the difference between the student & teacher edition vs. the regular editions?

Also, I got the CS4 master collection from my school a few years ago, if I only want to upgrade specific programs, can I do that? Or do I have to upgrade the whole master collection?

What's the difference between the student & teacher edition vs. the regular editions?

This:

- Each eligible person may purchase only one copy of each product per platform per year.

- Student & Teacher Edition software may be used on your privately-owned computer only.

- The software is not transferrable, meaning it may not be resold or given to others.

- You validate eligibility after placing your order to receive your unique serial number key.

- Student editions cannot be upgraded to other education editions – but do receive Adobe’s discounted upgrade pricing to all regular commercial versions

Is there any difference with the non student version? Does it stop working after a fixed amount of time or something? Or do you just need to prove you're a student?

Alright, hold on a second here.

Maybe I totally missed something, but I don't see a thing in terms and conditions about having to be a student or teacher, or how/where to provide education identification.

Is this an honor system thing? Or will entering the save80 code prompt a drop down where you'll be required to enter your school and ID#?

Edit- missed the FAQ page entirely. Never mjnd

Also, is this US only?

You have to verify that you are a student or teacher.

Scroll up on the FAQ that the OP posted.

No. You need to send them ID and proof that you are attending school. It's available in all territories I believe.

Yup saw that. Thanks.

G'damn. Been out of school 10 months, and can't seem to find a loophole to do this. What a great price.

I'm grateful I at least got Windows 7 Ultimate and the latest Office for both Windows and Mac for free through my school.

Edit-

Ok, I don't know if this is kosher or not, but if I have a student friend who isn't going to take advantage of this themselves, is there any way for them to do all the registration/proof for this, and then have me step in and actually complete the download from the Store on my computer?

Oh my God.

This is a better deal than my first Design Premium CS3 for $33. But that was well after CS4 came out.

Sorry for being dumb but are the prices listed currently rrepresentative of before or after the reduction? can't go through the checkout and apply the coupon to check currently

before reduction. For example, site lists Photoshop CS5 as $199, but the coupon code knocked it down to $39.80.

Hmmm, Master Collection for 110 euros excl. VAT? So that's about 122 euros if I pick the download. Not bad. Still want Adobe Premiere, After Effects and Audition. So this is a nice coincidence.

Right now I have a Design Premium but I believe it is only valid for a year. Will this be valid forever?

Is it worth it if there is a newer one coming out?

You have to decide that for yourself, but I know many people who still work with CS3 or CS4 and they seem to be perfectly capable with it.

Shit, buying Photoshop now. It will be way better than going to school to use the labs whenever I need to edit my pictures in it.

Apparently so, and it looks like you save another £40/$50 if you have a european shipping adress
Save €50/£40 and get free shipping. Offer ends 16 March, 2012.

Offer terms and conditions: Receive a one-time saving of €50/£40 on Adobe® Student and Teacher Edition versions (Mac and Windows®) of Adobe Creative Suite® 5.5 Master Collection, Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 Design Premium, Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 Production Premium or Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 Web Premium software from the Adobe Education Stores in Europe. This offer is available only to eligible Education customers with shipping addresses in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxemburg, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. The €50/£40 saving will be deducted automatically from the order subtotal before calculation of tax. The €50/£40 saving is not valid on multiple orders of the same eligible product, but is limited to the purchase of one order of each eligible product. Offer valid from 20 February, 2012 until 16 March, 2012. This offer and current prices are subject to change or withdrawal without notice. The €50/£40 offer is not valid for Adobe Volume Licensing purchases. Prices are listed in Euros and pounds sterling. This offer is void where prohibited.
That says its a saving on top of the 80% reduction

Hmm... I just tried entering the code at the European checkout, and it said that the code isn't valid.

Get that the same thing at the UK store, too. Does Adobe ship American software to the UK?

yea same here, I tried different stores but they only give the 50 off, without allowing the voucher.

Yeah, also doesn't work for me. I'm trying to contact support, see if it is an error.

Is it possible to use the US store and the download method?

EDIT: According to support that is not possible.

But the offers plastered all over the european site and they have "80% reduction is not enough - save an extra £40/€50" which is only available to european customers. i'll be miffed if i can't get this what a cock-teasr

I know, I pointed it out, but the only response I got was that the offer was only valid for the US and that I was not able to buy something from there.
