And what exactly is wrong with that? It honestly seems pretty shortsighted to fund the creation of a new IP and not retain the rights to it as a platform owner.
Insomniac is at the point where they want to build their company up by making their own games and retaining their IP. I don't see anything wrong with that either.
The only reason it's not on PS4 is because it was MS Insomniac signed a contract with. Had it been anyone else it would be on PS4 and Sony would have every benefit of funding it outside their cut of the software sales.
Basically I think they both made the best decisions for themselves and that's just how business goes. MS I think is a bit more questionable as they are likely to lose any rights to the IP or keep it exclusive after the first game even though they funded it's development and marketing. We'll see what happens though, if the game hits big it might move enough Xbone to make it worth it and they might have really reasonable agreement to hold onto sequels even if it blows up.
MS at least allow developers the opportunity to keep their IP and sometimes maximise their sales by eventually releasing on other platforms, Sony only care about number one and how a new IP can benefit their platform and their platform alone.
PC gamers? Pfft, they can go beg according to Sony.
Sounds like someone made a mistake with the ad. I seriously doubt this game is really coming to pc.
But if true,MS are making a big mistake. Considering how ad the XBO is performing in multiplatform games, their only selling point is the exclusives. If they start releasing them on other platforms, who would want to buy a XBO?
SO may not be a system seller, but it will make people doubt about future XBO "exclusives". If SO is coming to PC, who's to say Quantum break won't get a PC version as well? Or Scalebound? Or phantom dust? Or even MCC?
So what? If you want to play it right now, you can buy it on the X1. If you want to wait for a superior PC version on sale, you'll have to wait. What upsets you about a PC release later? No one's forcing you to do anything, what's the big deal?
I'm saying that every Xbox game that come to PC is an hit to the Xbox brand as a whole. It reduces the platforms value. Pcwindows gamers don't care, and they shouldn't. They just want more games on that platform. However I think everyone agrees that any game that looks great on an xbox eventually gets forums full of port begging from PC gamers.
Xbox live, the xbone userface and its games will be on pc... Its what I think
Pay the Xbox live yearly fee once and play ur digital games on pc, xbone, tablet etc... That was the reason for their initial vision I think before the 180s happened
I think its Xboxs vision to combat steam as well as introduce the xbone UI to pc, with pad and kinect support... Microsoft is a software company primarily... Their vision is to push the xbox ui into pcs, tablets, even tvs eventually
Question to the pc only gamers... Would U pay yearly for a Xbox live to be able to join in with halo collection, forza etc... Basically the whole xbone catalogue from now on? All through Xbox UI and be able to party up with xbone friends etc
Origin has nothing to do with it at all, BF3/BF4 and other Origin required games show this - If Origin being required = a dead community, then games like BF4 wouldn't have the active communities like they do.
And I've never seen "Xbone" used so many times in one post. It makes it sound even stupider then usual.
It's not other people's fault you have no self control and throw away your money needlessly on a game you know there's a good chance of you getting down the line in a vastly superior state. Your argument is essentially "I want a reason for keeping my xbone around, fuck everyone else". I mean shit, are you really so self centered that you can't take a step back, read your posts, and look at how utterly absurd you sound?
