If you ever read Nintendo Power magazine in the '90s, you probably remember that they used to have little comics starring Mario and other Nintendo characters going on adventures that usually involved whatever new peripheral the company put out that month. Well, it turns out that the German version of the magazine made its own comics, and they were a little ... different.

Hellraiser Kirby is the best thing about this by far ! xD

edit : I remember the megaman comics ! Damn they were really bizarre post apocalyptic dark gritty reboot =P

You're totally forgetting the one where Mario, Bomberman and T.T. from Diddy Kong Racing seek the aid of Eminem to stop a curse turning people into fried schnitzel.

"They're all there. Jason, Chuckie, Leatherface and their numerous friends of the realm of mummies, zombies and skeletons. Wario and his diabolical buddy Abigor are sitting on a table with a wide grin. They're hatching out a devilish plan..."

> Tried to be as literal as possible.

or, How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Realize This Assgrab is Delicious

What's weird is that the American Valiant comic also featured a storyline where Tatanga from Super Mario Land took over the World Trade Center.... lots of unintentional 9/11 preludes in Mario comics.

It's fine, German translates very smoothly to English anyway

Rummelplatzquatsch (English translation: Fairground Rubbish) is the name of a 6-page comic published in the 3/1998 issue of the German Club Nintendo magazine. It was made to promote the Game Boy Camera.

Mario is sceptical at first, and when the Camera suddenly shows a toilet brush, he is angry and leaves the fortune-teller's tent, trying to prove that the Camera has not told the truth. However, when Mario is looking around, a toilet brush comes right out of the top of the tent and is dashed into the plumber's face.

Arriving at the tent, he realizes that it was Luigi who sold the Camera to him. Luigi explains that it is just a normal Game Boy Camera that is capable of a lot of things, but not of foreseeing the future. Attempting to prove his point, he turns on the device which depicts Poochy now. In this moment, a pack of dogs enters the tent, all urinating at Luigi. The brothers look at each other and leave the tent terrified, believing that Satan is responsible for this. Indeed, when they drop the Camera, Satan's hand grabs it, and the reader learns that this was the only copy that has fallen into the devil's hands.

why would you promote a product like this

In his second fight, Mario's opponent is Chun-Li, who he immediately falls in love with. Expecting a "victory kiss", he is surprised at her starting to kick him. This gives Mario the idea to tickle her feet with a feather. Unable to fight, Chun-Li loses this match.

what the fuck

Notice Jason and Chucky in the background

They are even mentioned by name in the comic strip. Kids may have known them but still their movies weren't for the same demographics. Kinda strange to have them there.

Where do you guys get the larger pictures from?
