Remember, everyone has their own opinion on how "confirmed" a character is, but I've only placed those who are pretty much without a shadow of a doubt thought to be included in the game in the All But confirmed section. On Page 39 of this thread at GameFAQs we find guesses as to which character inclusion he is teasing, implying someone got it here. On this page we find the connection between Pokemon and the donuts, as well as a connection to Eddie Brock because he always made the rice balls in the original 90s anime, which was considered to be a fad at first.   • Due to the inclusion of Dr. Strange villains in the game already, people are pointing towards Dr. Strange because of the reference to Wizardry and his colourful use of magic. However, Mandarin and Mysterio have also notably rocked Blue and Green colour schemes (as well as purple and other jello-y colours).
Additionally, MasterChibi on SRK mentioned that one of Gill, Mysterio or Dr. Strange is in the game.

  • Chindogg's summary is concise so I'll quote the entire thing:
    I'll copy what I wrote in SRK to conclude what I considered before everyone went apeshit over Sigma.
    This is a stretch but here me out. Lupinko mentioned that the answer is on page 39, presumably on Gamefaqs, where there's mention of a Yugioh episode "Penguin Ex Machina." Penguin Ex Machina is very similar to Deus Ex Machina, a thing that seemingly solves a problem out of nowhere when an insolvable problem happens. In an earlier tweet, Lupinko posts a youtube video of the Fantastic Four fighting Galactus, seemingly unbeatable, until Ghost Rider shows up and beats him down with the Penance Stare within 20sec.
    Also, notice all the hockey references in the tweets. There's actually a Minor League hockey team the Fernie Ghostriders. In an earlier tweet also, Lupy makes a reference to the Devil. Ghost Rider originally gained his powers from the Devil before Marvel retconned it into Mephisto. Given this information, I am concluding that Ghost Rider is what he's been alluding to for most of the day.[Source]

Lupinko corrected his first tweet with the second, meaning that "this guy" didn't allow James to get the aids in time. James Howlett is the birth name of Wolverine.
  • Aegis Reflector is one of Urien's moves in SF3. Urien and Cable share a voice actor. Lawrence Bayne. "No more Aegis Reflector" may mean no more Cable.

  • 2pac lyrics from Only God Can Judge Me coinciding with references to Daredevil being blind, with the mention of crime possibly being a reference to Daredevil as he is a lawyer. It is important to note that MvC3 leaks suggested that Elektra was cut from the game to keep sides balanced when Frank West was cut, and that's why The Hand's Hideout stage looks out of place in the retail game without representing characters, especially after Niitsuma stated that each stage would have some connection to a character in the game.   • Roll is the most likely reference here, because she is the only robotic female that comes to mind, however, the HARDAC and Batman:TAS references surrounding this tweet seem to imply a deeper reference that hasn't been cracked yet.
  • Apparently Niitsuma has been seen recently with Roll's VA.

Megaman X

  • It is noted in the source that the Megaman X plot and Blade Runner's share similarities. The robochick tweet was tweeted around the same time as these, potentially having a connection. [Source]

  • "Get ready to die" is a Urien quote, and "Time to get rough" is a Cable one. The source points out that both Urien and Cable share the same voice actor, Lawrence Bayne. And that's all cool, I do it so we can get that Mahvel crack sooner anyways, a collaborative effort is the best approach :p You definitely helped fill in a lot of the blanks. GameFAQs moves fast because they have numbers. I've yet to catch up on SRK and GameFAQs for the past day D:

I'd be willing to bet 5 dollars that not only will Vergil NOT be in it, but you will STILL buy it. Capcom has you by the balls and you know it.

Nah, not immediately anyway. I'll probably just pick up the guaranteed DMC collection more than once if this doesn't have Vergil in it..

Meaning Capcom still gets my money. >.>

10+. 10 is as many new characters as super and Lupinko has hinted to that number already. That's the minimum I am expecting at this point.

Lupinko has pretty much confirmed the identity of 6 characters already judging by the tweets and hints. Others are like 50/50 going either way (like Bishop/Cable).

Alright I'll pretend like you're being serious. I'm confident the count will be over 10, being that they've withheld DLC for unknown reasons and MVC3 is in need of a substantial update. In the time between Vanilla and Super, 10 character, 5 levels, and a rehauled online system were done. Marvel being a considerably bigger game than SF is definitely going to at least get the same amount of treatment.

See the reason my guess is 4 +2 later as DLC was because of how bare bones the content on disc was and that their team is clearly not like Ono's for SF4. If it's more than 10 I'll be genuinely surprised because even Super SF4 only had 10, and I sort of feel like the Marvel team is probably smaller in size so that their production of content is on a smaller scale. To add to this, Super SF4 had what, a year long cycle before it came out? MvC3 came out in February... and unless their team either had stock characters near finish or they are just going to throw random shit in without giving a fuck about balancing, or they want to completely skip over other real content other than 10+ characters that are semi balanced... I just don't see it.

Going to sit with my 4+2 combo though. You'll rock 10+. Let's see who's closer. ;)

What the hell is Megaman Starforce? LOLOLOL!!!!

If Capcom puts in that version of MM over MMX, that's the biggest troll in gaming history. Unless there is something about Starforce that I don't know about.

It's a version that'd translate better into a fighter than Classic or X.

Because any version would translate better than Classic or X.

I respect you. Honestly for me to pick this back up for a $40.00 price tag I just want 1 character I want(Gamebit), and the online lobbies allowing for spectators so I can enjoy it with my friends.

That's what I mean. 2 more DLC for MvC3, squaring up the char screen (and possibly coinciding with a balance patch) then 12 more for Super.

This is pretty much exactly my list. Although I would put Venom in Gambit's place and have DocOck too.

I don't even care about Vergil, but oddly enough he seems one of the few I'm banking on actually being in. The Vergil hints were the few that could only be interpreted one way.
