Super Robot Taisen Original Generations (PS2) Official Thread of Hot Blooded Awesome

Did you guys here the news that this might actually come to the states...according to the boys at Atlus...which is weird because you would think NamcoB would be doing this. Anywho it was stated as a slim chance but who knows.

Why Namco Bandai? Atlus brought the GBA SRW OG games over here...

I really hope it hops the pond, regardless.

People seem to be confusing Banpresto with Bandai, both here and at the Atlus boards. You'd think such hardcore fans of the series would know the difference. :lol

Namco Bandai wholly owns Banpresto, and has since March of last year. Bandai has partially owned it since 1989. There essentially is NO difference.

Some hardcore fan you are. :lol

Really? Is it in the Premium Edition pack I picked up a few months ago, or do you mean a preorder bonus? I might have to root through that to find the DVD.

Aha, but I never claimed to be! ;)

(All right, owned.)

Grawr, episode 29 or so in OG2 now. The story feels really disjointed in OG2 compared to OG1. The mechs are crazier though. The Philion G and S (or however you spell them) are just ridiculous. Silly Latooni. :lol

I absolutely <3 Ivys/Ibis' design and the character. Wish the Asterlion was a bit beefier but it's not too shabby for a quick moving mech.

Ah, and Royal Heart Breaker deals out more damage than Formation-R.

Handful of points higher than Formation-R in raw attack power. Difference is that I can do F-R 3 times where I can only do RHB twice. Or if I'm really nasty, two Formation -Rs then an SRX attack.

That aside, I meant the way they look. ;x

Ah okay. It's a damn cool video, I must say. It would be nice if they made an updated one in a few years.

doesnt latooni get awaken? :-D

Fairlions rock, hard. "Latoonni anata ni" "Shine anata kara" or whatever they say, lol.

Latooni gets "Move Again" (Saidou) where you can give it to any other character for another turn (including self as I recall). "Awaken" (Kakusei) gives it only to the user. Ryusei gets Awaken. ;x

Unless they changed it from the GBA version, Latooni and Shine pull a Betterman "Shine: YOU HAVE CONTROL!" "Latooni: I HAVE CONTROL!" the RHB on the PS2. :lol

On another note, there's too many damn units in OG2 that I want to use and not enough room per map for them. >O

I`m on Chapter 18 on OG2. I`m really loving it so far. It picks up far faster than OG1, and the mission conditions are far more varied. I especially liked the one where you have to leave a single enemy unit alive with 20% health so you can capture and interrogate. Very cool.

Story pacing in OG2 is kind of odd, it feels a bit jumpy until really late into the game. I'm on Ep 46 now though.

In that sense it feels more like a normal SRW game, since it kind of cycles between plotlines and then combines them.
