What happened to him?

A lot of things.

- No shadow sneak cancel landing lag after aerial moves.

-Up smash has lag and you could get punish easily.

- Hydro Pump is so bad and doesn't push well.

-No more combos after Up smash.

How does it work differently? Can you elaborate on this a little bit? That sounds extremely troubling.

EDIT: Sorry for the double post.

Training mode doesn't take into account fresh move bonuses, stale moves or rage mode.

The training mode is just awful, it should have all of those things as well as tell us the stale move stack, tell us the rage multiplier, what the knockback value was of the previous attack and let us record moves for the opponent, it's just so bare bones.

Or you could, oh I dont know....still be good with him and not pick characters based on how good they are?

For me? I won't play 1v1 with a weak character. Greninja is not good anymore I think.

Time to change main.

I choose you Robin <3

Wow that stinks I used to combo after up smash a lot. Back to the drawing board with him.

More lag after uncharged Shuriken as well and no more or less practical up air spikes.

Hydro Pump was hands down my favorite move in the game, I hope it's still possible to get cool kills with.

+ Olimar's forward smash has been increased in range with all pikmin, by about 10%. http://imgur.com/AwAnNyw
+ Pikmin A.I. has been improved and less de-syncing occurs now.
+ White pikmin deal 3-4% latch damage, up from 2-3%.
+ White pikmin latch on longer. 1 white pikmin can deal 40% damage on a target, up from 20%.
+ Pikmin are now usable after a down throw into down smash.
+ Purple pikmin up smash deals 18% damage, up from 14%, and knockback has been increased.

Wow. Awesome. Purple pikmin has already done 18% I think though. The white pikmin buffs are especially notable, as well as the range to the FSmash.

Do we know if it will be the same way in Wii U?

Greninja is not good anymore I think.

Stop overreacting. Nerfs, yes. Useless character now? Hardly.

Yoshi hate? I'd love to know why, although he is a lot better then he's ever been in any smash game. Been maining since N64.

I don't think he's broken. I just tend to play as high-lag characters like Mega and he infuriates me.

Basically:
*his moves have an infinitesimal window for punishment
*his projectile is TOO GOOD
*recovery is no longer an issue
*his aerials are lightning fast and have super priority

A good Pikachu can really grind my gears, too.

Yes you're right. Man I hate that. Greninja wasn't even that good to get nerf like that! That's so stupid. What they did really is killing Greninja.

It's still 9:49 AM for me, I imagine the reason you haven't seen changes for Yoshi is because a lot of character mains haven't gotten around to studying the changes for their characters yet, and that includes Yoshi for whatever reason.

Doesn't it seem a bit too early to be adjusting characters?

Not really. Game has been out for over a month. Already been seeing a lot of competitive play. This is the preemptive balance tweak before the Wii U launch, since both games play 1:1 the same.

I don't expect too many balance patches.

Wouldn't be surprised if there was a reason... <.<

But nah, more likely internal testing just recognized that Greninja was good/fun, and realized that needed to be changed.

It's a bummer that Greninja players have to change their playstyle, but I do like the dair change. Seeing players spam that move on For Glory and whiff with no consequence was irritating.

Those Bowser nerfs...

And I hear forward Smash does less damage?! That's full bullshit, it was super hard to land to begin with (beside being the only Bowser smash to have any reach). Fuck everything.

Glad to hear Olimar got a boost.

Isn't there a place where people are accumulating all the changes?

I'm curious if Luigi got a boost. I like him, but he feels significantly weaker in Smash 4.

I can't say it didn't catch me off guard most of the time, since I adapt slowly.

But it's not safe, it's still a mix up. If they don't side B after the dair, they have a big chunk of lag. If they do side B, shield and punish. Though I guess since dair can kinda combo if it hits, it does make it riskier now to try it, since there aren't options on whiff.

There's a Smashboards thread but it's best to just assume that it's 99% "This feels different!" bullshit until the game gets datamined to see what's changed.

You could definitely punish those though. Had a mirror match yesterday where the guy kept doing it, resulting in an almost free punish each time. It's more telegraphed than you think.

ZSS Gun still travels the same distance. The only difference is when the opponent breaks free from a fully charged shot in the update they slide back instead of being lifted into the air.
Her air dodge has more lag time at the end, less lag on forward smash and better forward B are true. She got more buffs then nerfs, I'm not complaining. =3

You cant even change the CPU to "shied" in training mode. Its just better to not think about "training mode" at all.

Yeah, I'm bad at Smash Bros. 3: I can't say I've had the Greninja match-up too often, so I guess I never got to feel out his weaknesses. I am also slow to adapt.

It would get rid of a lot of misinformation if there were detailed patch notes.

But, I question why is misinformation bad? Is it because we're so use to knowing every little aspect of a game that the idea of things being unknown is a negative? This isn't an RPG where you can miss out on things without a guide, it's a fighting game where if a character you use or are playing against has been tweaked, you will eventually figure out how.

I guess my point is, I don't really see why you need to know how exactly balance has been adjusted in a fighting game.

Is it true that ness can use pk thunder again if he bounces into a wall?
This was possible pre patch, on a certain side of the stage and with specific timing. Not sure if it's been changed, but it was really weird before at least.
