I posted this earlier today, but now that I have my own code and did my own testing over a few hours, I can amend it

Here's some minor information about Mewtwo, since people seem to ask a lot of questions and may not have time to sort through here and Reddit to get info. Stuff that isn't readily apparent or obvious. Basically little nitpick questions someone might have.

Does Mewtwo come with trophies?
Yes, Mewtwo comes with all the trophies every other character has. His Classic and All Star trophies are earned the same way as any character. His alt color trophy is awarded instantly on the Wii U, which is different than normal characters, but he has the trophy.

So what about the Mewtwo trophy and the Mega Mewtwo trophy that shipped with the game?
They made no changes to these trophies. Mewtwo's Final Smash is called Psystrike, so there's no conflict with the Mega trophy, and they just left the old Mewtwo trophy as is. There are two trophies named "Mewtwo." Actually a bit cool to think about it, since in Melee everyone had a trophy based on their series, rather than their Smash render. Totally not what they were intending to callback to, but still interesting to think about.

Do these trophies count towards the total for challenge and stat purposes?
Yes, I specifically tested this. As soon as I booted the game up, Mewtwo's alt trophy gave me the challenge for 700 trophies. Actually I got the challenge unlocked before I even saw the message that I got the trophy!

Does Mewtwo have custom moves? Are they unlocked by default?
Mewtwo has no custom moves at all. He even has a special message telling you that no customs exist at all, so don't waste your time trying to unlock them.

So Mewtwo can't be customized?
Mewtwo can have equipment. He uses the same X stat boosters other Pokemon use. So your level 9 runs through classic are safe.

So what customs does he unlock when he gets them?
Just random ones like Palutena, it seems, other than X stat boosters, which he also gets as drops more often.

Can I use Mewtwo online?
Yes, in With Anyone and With Friends, like anyone, except Mii. Your friend doesn't need to own Mewtwo, but they won't be able to use him if they don't.

Can I random Mewtwo
Honestly, I don't know for sure. I played against a random CPU for an hour and a half and Mewtwo never came up. But neither did Pikachu or Megaman, so I'm going to assume he can be randomed as he appears in every other mode that has random characters.

Does Mewtwo show up in Classic/All Star
Yes, Mewtwo is fully implemented into these modes... kind of. On the Wii U he doesn't show up in Phase 2 of Classic, as he lacks customs. Or maybe he does and my 5 runs through classic, he never showed up in round 2. On the 3DS he works like any other character in Classic. The AI on his All Star stage seems slightly weaker due to the additional character, but this might just be a placebo.

How About Smash Tour?
Surprisingly, yes, Mewtwo shows up in Smash Tour despite not having customs. No matter what settings are on, he will always be default colored Mewtwo, and labeled "1". His "battle cry" is his up taunt, his cackle from his Melee taunt.

Master/Crazy Orders?
Yes, Mewtwo shows up as a random opponent in these modes as well.

Does Mewtwo have Palutena's Guidance?
No, he uses the fallback one, which is vague and non specific and made for all DLC characters.

What does Mewtwo sound like
He has a new voice, however it's a sound alike for his Melee voice, redone. Now credited as Keiji Fujiwara, rather than Masachika Ichimura from Melee.

Is he in Sound Test?
Yes, Mewtwo is in the Sound Test. He's the last character in the list, above the Assist Trophies. The announcer also has his Mewtwo line in his sound test.

Is it Japanese or English?
It depends on your region. It works just like Melee. In Japan he talks, everywhere else he just grunts and yells.

Does Mewtwo show up in stats?
Yes, Mewtwo works like any other character for stats. Thanks to testing he's my number 9 most played character and I've had him less than a day.

Does Mewtwo have a Classic/All Star mode ending video
He does, and it unlocks and can be replayed like any other character. Much like most things, Mewtwo appears at the bottom of the list.

Is his trailer in the video list?
No, it was probably too large to ship in a patch.

What is Mewtwo's victory song
The same as the other Pokemon. A bit from the main theme of Pokemon, that every Pokemon has used since Smash 64.

Where does Mewtwo fit in the CSS?
Mewtwo is after the third parties, but before Mii. He causes Link and Kirby to shift up a row as well.

What is Mewtwo's boxing ring title?
A Legend Reawakenings

What are Mewtwo's alts?
HD images here. They replaced his Melee Shiny Skin with two similar but not really shiny skins, a minty color and a yellow-green color. Also he has a skin referencing Mew (kind of) and one referencing Shadow Lugia. And a cool chocolate colored tail skin. Other than those changes, he has his Melee skins, blue and yellow, both based on Pokemon Stadium.

Does Mewtwo have any events?
Specific to him? No. Any event that lets you pick any character will work just like any other character with Mewtwo. He doesn't show up in any event (they didn't retroactively add him to the Melee vet event, sadly).

Does Mewtwo have any Challenges?
Again, no, Mewtwo lacks a specific Challenge geared to him. And on that subject, he works a little... different with Challenges. I guess a way to put it is, he doesn't "work against you" for challenges. What this means is, for example, a challenge that requires you to beat x with all characters, Mewtwo actually doesn't count for these and is optional. However, for Challenges without "all characters" Mewtwo is completely valid. So for example, the challenge to beat All Star on Hard with 8 Characters, Mewtwo would count towards that. And obviously any achievement that just says "beat x" would unlock with Mewtwo.

What does Mewtwo Kirby look like?
Like he did in Melee. He grows "ears" a tube thing on his back and a small tail. Also it doesn't work like Jigglypuff, it changes with Kirby's color so there's no clashing white bits. Kirby doesn't say anything when using Mewtwo's Shadow Ball. Also he uses Lucario's Aura Sphere animation just with angry eyes. Which is kind of funny if you think about it and the whole "Lucario is a clone" stuff from the Brawl days.


To sum it up:

Unless it's custom moves or Palutena's Guidance, Mewtwo basically works exactly the same as any other character.
 
Playing online, and this Mewtwo thing is a mixed blessing. Half my matches are against Mewtwo, but they all seem to be poor players, so I have easy wins. I'm not even remotely good.

The lines are literally ported wholesale from Melee with some minor touch ups.

Are you sure about this? Keiji Fujiwara is credited as Mewtwo's voice actor this time around, but Masachika Ichimura voiced him in Melee.

It sounds exactly like Melee, right down to being slightly dodgy quality like Jigglypuff. They're even delivered exactly the same, especially the Japanese lines.

Nah man, this isn't his Melee voice at all. Not even minor touch ups would make him sound so different. I main Mewtwo in Project M and that uses the Melee voice clips. This is a new guy getting as close as Melee Mewtwo as possible.
 
I'm probably going to give away my Wii U code in 5 or 10mins since I'm selling my Wii u so I can afford that F4F Dracula statue. I guess I'll just post it on here.
 
Anyone else have their Vampire Brawn Badge mysteriously disappear from their equipment inventory?

It just happened to me and I'm not sure if it's due to the patch or some other random factor. Went to make an equipment loadout for Mewtwo to cheese through Classic mode more easily and I don't see it anywhere.

Melee's credits say Mewtwo was voiced by Masachika Ichimura, but I actually think they might be wrong and it was Keiji Fujiwara this whole time.

Mewtwo's voice in Melee and this game don't really sound anything like Ichimura's performance. And speaking of Ichimura, he is a pretty big name stage/film/TV actor and I doubt Nintendo would shell out the money to get him back just for Smash Bros.

Anyone else still waiting on their code? Haven't received my e-mail yet. Definitely registered both versions (I received the soundtrack CD and everything).
 
So since Mewtwo's Alt costume is unlocked from the start, what do you get when you beat All-Star mode with him?!

And does he appear as an opponent fighter ever in Classic or All-Star mode?

You unlock his Final Smash trophy when you clear All-Star, just like everyone else. :P

And yeah, he appears in both Classic and All-Star.

Also, does anyone else find the CSS on Wii U to be really odd now? You think they'll ever rearrange the order?
 
If you have not gotten a code it's probably because you have AOL, I called them and they gave it to me, about time
