PS5 dev kits in the wild and i've some good news for you
System will be revealed close to E3 2019 in Sony's Special event with some mind-blowing tech demos and a few megatons and a release date for Q1-Q2 2020! The Last of Us Part 2's motion matching in 4K 60fps is a joy to watch!
Specifications:
CPU: 8Core/16Threads at 3.2Ghz (boost) Zen2 (this is the biggest improvement we've ever seen CPU-wise, even bigger than PS2 to PS3)
GPU: Fully NAVI-Based GPU with some AMD's next generation arch features at 12.6tf to 14.2tf (GPU clock still undecided)
Memory: 24GB - 20GB GDDR6 at 880Gb/s - 4GB DDR4 reserved for OS
2tb HDD

I'm only surprised at the memory, the rest is in line with what's out there plus personal guess.
As for the games that's not news either because of everything that got delayed/pushed back to 2019, that was a hint to me.
If the raw performance is 12-6TF+ then I'll be ecstatic, because I seriously want a fucking true 4K/60 native console/machine.
And considering that PlayStation carried the weight after the PS3 mess and pretty much saved Sony as a whole they owe this division some love.

I still want to believe ps5 will have 12 core Cpu.

Also huge fuck no to saying this a bigger jump from ps2 to ps3.

Moors law forbids this and just upping clock speed and threads and not cores is not as huge of a cpu jump as you think.

PS3 also had 8 cores FYI. PS2 had 1 ps1 cpu and its emotion engine + amazing dram.

The memory and gpu jump is big but not cpu.

Would be a waste of power draw/TDP for the APU, also not feasible as it would need 2X 8-core chiplets with 2 cores on each disabled.

Better to spend resources on an SSD or faster GPU. Anything over 16GB GDDR6 dedicated to GPU (not including additional mem for OS) is a slight waste too.

Doesn't add up. 880GB/s with GDDR6 is only possible with 512-bit bus and ~13.75Gbit/s memory chips. Would require minimum 16 memory chips, GDDR6 is offered in 8Gbit / 16 Gbit densities which would result in either 16GB or 32GB RAM in that case.
It's a devkit remember but dont know if he's saying the target is 12-14tflops or what.

It's all over the place and while fun to discuss it's also info that got posted after other leaks so could be onQ123's other account for all we know :/
Plus dev-kits have 2x the amount of memory which means 12+4 = 16, but trololol that would be freakin sad if 12GB GDDR6.
All in all devkit/retail so yeah...

Welp, when do they need to start mass production for Q1-Q2 2020? With AMD not mentioning Navi this Jan, it is coming Q3 at best.
Specs sanity check: CPU yeah, GPU flops, uh, that's Vega 7 area, Navi is expected to be slower than that.
24Gb RAM... I doubt it.

Wait a minute, how much is that machine expected to cost?
Navi isn't a big chip, 8 Zen 2 cores is a single chiplet so $399 wouldn't surprise me.

I totally believe in these specs.

There are pretty close to my own (except I used lower GB of RAM) plus my release date is March 2020.

I can’t remember a console that launched Q1
Switch success proved March is better to launch than November.

You can't produce enough units to launch in holidays anymore.

Wait a minute, how much is that machine expected to cost?
With that spec $399-499... no more than that.

With that spec $399 but I can see $499 with the increase in price of some components.
Surely it will be more... A 2 TB drive is like 70 bucks, a vid card alone with that power is 600 bucks... They won't sell for a loss either. No way that's happening.

Samsung has chips for gddr6 now that can hit 864Gb/s off a 384 bit bus.... I know I've read it somewhere

Edit here you go from January of last year Touch the link

Devkits have more memory, not necessarily double. You don't need 12GB for debugging tools and profilers.

There is no video card in 7nm at that power unless Radeon VII with crazy and expensive 16GB HBM2.

So yes that is the actual price for that tech next year.

Retail vs direct contracts of a manufacturer + discounts + whatever else.
Here's an idea of how much 8/16GB GDDR6 cost and that's factoring the 70% hike over GDDR5 I believe, then add them discount, margins, etc etc.
I used to work in sales (pretty much all my life) and one day while putting on price tags the wholesale? (whatever the shop pays their distributor) price was listed, guess what 50% profit between the store and their supplier.
Price are high because shit fuckers are keeping it so high (which they got fined for or is in progress still).

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.

And honestly, I feel like the March launch for the Switch was a huge boon to their holiday sales that year. Way more so since developers had 8 or so months to get their shit together and release some games.

Impossible
The 2080TI (which is over $1000) is only 13 TFLOPS.

Pretty sure Sony isn't going to take a $600+ bath on each console they sell.
AMD's flops are higher though. So 13 tflops would be much less. Also we're talking about a release 1 year from now. 7nm graphics cards will hit between now and then (not counting Radeon 7 as its more or less an Instinct card M160 with its 16GB HBM2).

They also launched the GTX 1080Ti in 2017 for $700 at 11.3TF, so using nVidia ripping PC owners off doesn't compute.
And that's on which node, 16nm? All I'm saying that it really isn't that great if you think about it, had there been more competition between AMD/nVidia then the GPU market would have moved.
See what happen to the CPU sector, Intel didn't do shit until AMD managed to fight back and now it's moving just as fast as in the golden days IMO.

On-topic:
The split memory pool adds up to something onQ123 posted yesterday (if it wasn't posted by a random user).
Something about IOMMU or whatever the fuck and now there's this person talking about Ariel (whoever he might be).

You don't know what you're saying.

A 13TF Nvidia GPU is NOT the same as 13TF AMD GPU.

The Vega 64 is 13.7TF and RTX 2080 Ti is 13.4TF. By your logic a 64 is more powerful than a 2080 Ti which of course it isn't.

If the PS5 is 13-14TF then it will be similar in performance to a Vega 64.

Sounds about right for a devkit, I'd anticipate 16+4Gb ram in the retail.
That has to the minimum I think.

The Xbox One X has 8GB + 4GB. That should be the benchmark for next gen. We already have games using as much as 11GB on PC. Anything less than 20GB and I will be disappointed.

Interesting you bring that up as Vega 64 benchmarks are out - https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2019-02-11-radeon-rx-vega-64-benchmarks-7001
Now let's say it's 13TF flat at $500, PS4 Pro GPU / RX 490? was around the same at launch but that's only 4.2 (with a lot disabled and what's not but ok doesn't matter).
Nothing about these potential specs are crazy, but looking at some reactions it's like console is getting too close to PC's holy grail but at 1/3 of the price and bla bla bla..

Not holding my breath on this leak, but if Sony goes all out, I do not give a crap what the price is. I will be ecstatic to have a such major leap forward. And then we really might get that all gen backwards compatibility. Boy, that would be dream come true.

Reading that thread, they want that guy to verify it there with the mods. Let's see if he's willing to.

The special event piece is intriguing to me because it confirms my expectations. Can't imagine Sony has nothing planned around E3 time being the market leader and all. Love me some confirmation bias.
EXACTLY! This was my biggest beef with Sony. Not specifically them not being at E3. If they show this monster in August (and they just weren't going to be ready in June), then I'm 100% fine with this.

Imagine playing games like RDR 2 at 4K at 60 fps!!!!!!

Wait, shamepain? That's a name I haven't heard for a long time... BRB googling.
And lol at how that has anything to do with WiiU. A random poster on a random forum is not hinting at anything.
Edit: https://www.neogaf.com/search/225799/
There you go, guys. Have fun reading through a post history of a banned guy now apparently used as a source of Truth for next gen.

It was "true" after reading his post history on Beyond3D haha, his reactions over smallest of things said it all and pro-Sony at that...but whatever.
