0x00001201 or 0x000012C1 should work for MSAA and OGSSAA.

Try it first without a flag, and just "override any application setting".

BTW anyone know if there some alternate way to remove game items added there? Each time I've added a game to the list in the Nvidia settings the Remove button is greyed with seemingly no way to remove it.

The delete profile (red cross) is greyed out? I suppose you could export customized profiles and select the ones you want to keep, reinstall drivers (which deletes everything), and import profile.

I'm using the official Nvidia Control Panel so it's just a button labeled 'Remove' that's disabled. May try the Inspector instead since that looks more flexible.
 
Ubi could never pull off a SWAT game - the teammate AI systems (especially in 3) are truly impressive. Added with the enemy AI (which created a lot of unpredictable situations) it'll be far more than they can ever dream of pulling off.

Case in point: R6 Siege has horrifyingly bad AI.

I don't think they even tried with Siege. The focus was clearly the competitive mode and terrorist hunt was added because it was a fan favorite from the Vegas days.
The AI is on par with what you'd get with the bots in Black Ops MP: the bare minimum.

Humans are slowly replacing AI in modern games, unfortunately, I just don't see how we can't have games these days with the same AI capability as SWAT 3. Dynamic AI, not some pre-allocated buffered animation that always plays at the same place.
 
Thanks. After reading this post on the forums a user there brought up the same issue. From what they posted it can also be avoided by launching with the -nointro argument.

-nointro will fix the crashing on startup, but you still might crash on any other cutscene since the cutscenes' video encoding is no longer supported by modern versions of Windows. That's why its best to replace them with the Xvid versions provided on that website and then download the xvid codec or CCCP

SWAT 3 actually has much better AI than SWAT 4. I hope they make another game one day.

Finally able to get around to installing this. Just looked up server browser fixes, and gog has the best one.

Gamespy ceased its server masterlist service in 2012.

You can find a replacement to Gamespy middleware here:

so you will be able to browser servers in-game again, an

So that means all you have to do is replace a file and then you can use the server browser in game. It works great and there are a lot of servers across all the different versions.

Major Changes in v4


  • Introducing, Extra Missions! These are a second, Irrational-quality campaign of missions for you to explore. You will need to create a second campaign (in the menu) and select Extra Missions from the dropdown box (SWAT4 + TSS are selected by default). The Meat Barn Restaurant is the first mission to be unlocked.
  • CO-OP finally working. We've fixed a great deal of the co-op bugs and can confirm the game works over the network. The Join Game menu option now appears. When ready in CO-OP, you can hit a new NOT READY button to unready yourself. The response interface has been cleaned up. The optiwand is slightly better in laggy situations. Lastly, if you are the only one on a server, all votes will succeed.
  • Weight and Bulk System. Two new bars have been added to the equipment screen: Weight and Bulk. Weight indicates how heavy your equipment is, and slows you down. Bulk indicates how large your equipment is, and makes your interactions slower. Your weight is shown ingame on the HUD.
  • More Loadout Options. You may now pick how many magazines you want to bring, which affects your weight and bulk. Pistols can now be equipped in primary weapon slots.
  • New Ballistics System. Bullets are subject to drag (momentum/damage falloff over distance) and ricochet (bouncing off of hard surfaces). The Less Lethal Shotgun can now kill people at point blank range. Body Armor is much more effective; heavy armor has ceramic plates that may break with usage but otherwise is capable of stopping nearly any projectile in its tracks.
  • LEADER THROW commands. You will now see a new set of commands, such as "OPEN, LEADER AND CLEAR." These commands allow you to throw the grenade instead of the AI doing it. (Double entries only require one grenade)
  • Other minor features. You can now lock doors with the toolkit. The officer AI is much smarter, and won't form "death funnels" at doors as easily. Gangster AI types will sometimes hold their guns sideways. The console has been improved. An FOV slider and Mouse Smoothing checkbox have been added to the options menus, and a Take Screenshot keybind was added. Much more in the full changelog.
 
Do you know if alot of the community has moved onto this? Also does this go through swat 4 or the expansion pack? Couldn't figure out what that remake mod connected through, kept saying for swat 4 but was in the expansion section.

There's a Discord that people play the mod on, some people on YouTube are playing it as well. It goes through the expansion, so it has all the features from the expansion as its base.
 
Any mod that lets you aim down sights? Feels so bizarre to just fire from the hip.I know about Z but it's not quite the same thing.
 
If anyone is interested in running some co-op missions every once in a while, post or send me a PM. It'll usually be around ~9PM EST, but it can vary.
 

PC Gamer thinks SWAT 4 has great storytelling? There's barely even a story there, even the devs said so. But I think I understand where they're coming from, being a police officer and heavily discouraged to use lethal bullets and equipment, certainly adds to the realism, immersion and supports the mission objectives in order to tell a linear story.

I think they meant that the game does a good job of world building and communicating that to the player - the environment often reflected the nature of the event and the people involved.
