Take-Two expects Call of Duty will boost Game Pass numbers 'for a period of time', but wouldnt apply to their new games.

Meh, they got NBA 2k 24 on there right now. Unless he's talking about their flagships GTA and RDR. Well duh, they're not. Those things sell gangbusters.
Bad example. NBA 2k24 is at end of cycle. The game was added after it sold all it was going to. 2k25 comes out soon.

The discussion was more to do with ms adding blops 6 to gamepass day one.
This is the important factor. Lets see how this move pays out.

If its a hit on gamepass and success for MS, it might change MS mind and go aggressive on big AAA 3rd party games.

Day and date is naturally what he means by new games, in the clearly given context of Cod becoming one of those. GTA was ancient when it got to GP and Plus, and NBA a few months old is also ripe for sub services.
Yes, and in that regard he doesn't say anything controversial or radical. I don't think anyone would ever expect some of the biggest franchises made by third party to end up on subscription services day one.

For one, Game Pass is not on PS5 where the biggest audience for GTA 6 is. So they will sell a buttload of copies there either way. And I think even on PC and Xbox, a lot of people will want to actually own the game either way.

But yeah, I doubt Microsoft is willing to offer the billions and billions that would be required for GTA 6 day one on Game Pass. Not after already spending so much on gaming.

I mean it's Microsoft who takes the money from Gamepass subscriptions, and it's not like T2's games are unknown and need some money from MS to be safe.

Like a person with no butthole bragging that they don't need a toilet...

Also, considering the things that Take-Two head man has said, and GTA 5 Online in general, we all know what "rational" means here, and I don't know why he thinks his opinion on anything has any value.

"Shut up and basketball", Make your money, and shut up.

"We make rational decisions" is a funny thing to say when your whole fucking company is being carried by GTA.

It prints money like nothing else in the gaming world apart from mobile games, how is that not rational.

His company is much more successful than all of Microsoft's gaming, that's for sure.

Like when Kevin Hart found out Don Cheadle was 56...

"DAMN!!!" 🤣

Microsoft taking L's from everyone in the industry. Oh dear.

GTAV is selling an average of 5m units each quarter, RDR2 about 3, don’t know about NBA.

But they are making tons of money with those titles, many companies including MS would like to have the results they have.

Because if that single pillar fails for some reason (and I mean, Benzies, Lazlow etc. are gone... so who knows what the future will bring), the whole of T2 is fucked. Not sure if that's a good position to be in

Halo tv show is shit. This is not the stick that you want to use.

That does that have to do with Halo? He says they make rational decisions and they gave Borderlands to Avi Arad to turn into a movie. That's not a rational decision and the results prove it.

Wasn't GTA 5 on gamepass?
Take-Two does support subscription services through its legacy titles, yet it has been sceptical around the idea of putting brand new AAA games into the service on the day they come out.

Zelnick told us in 2022: "That doesn't make any sense to us, because economically speaking, we don't think consumers are prepared to pay for that. And we can't afford to turn our business upside down in a way that doesn't make sense economically."

Its borderland, not gta or red dead redemption. It doesnt impact them that much.
