Right, he's not talking about a competitor's sub service, I stated that in my post.
Your post was making it like he was talking about a competitor's service.
By competing subscription services I meant services that they do not own.
We can all agree on that TT would be irrational in its situation to launch a GTA VI day one on Gamepass or another service if they are also not their own. Their great IPs have prestige, they are bestsellers even across several generations. But that does not mean that he is stating that other editors and Studios are being irrational. Especially for what has been pointed out, because it would be disrespectful and arrogant for him to give his opinion on the specific situations of others. That is why "To US" and "for our properties" stand out. If it were a global criticism it would not be necessary. For the part I underlined....this thread and the article I posted...he's literally talking about subscription services in general....and offering his opinion. Which can be seen as criticizing.
He criticizes how companies choose to use it. I always say Game Pass itself isnt the problem..its how MS is trying to position it than can be a problem.
For me, his words have nothing conflicting. It is simply a CEO defending his own business strategy based on his specific situation (Imagine saying that perhaps another strategy could be better or more effective than the one they apply ). In no case is there criticism or disparagement of the business decisions of others or the validity of subscription services in general.
