Fiscal 2019. Translates to April 2018-March 2019.

"Consumer demand for our entertainment offerings remained exceedingly strong in the fourth quarter, finishing-off another outstanding year for our organization," said Strauss Zelnick, Chairman and CEO of Take-Two. "During fiscal 2017, we delivered Bookings and cash provided by operating activities that significantly exceeded our original expectations, along with revenue growth and margin expansion. These results were driven by the continued extraordinary performance of Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online, a diverse array of exciting titles from 2K, and record digitally-delivered revenue and Bookings, including our highest-ever from recurrent consumer spending. We invested our capital to grow and diversify our business further, including by acquiring Social Point, a leading free-to-play mobile game developer.

"As announced yesterday, Rockstar Games has decided to move the release of Red Dead Redemption 2 to Spring 2018. As Rockstar stated, Red Dead Redemption 2 will be their first game created from the ground up for the latest generation of console hardware, and some extra time is necessary to ensure that they deliver the best experience possible. Such decisions are not made lightly, and are driven by our team's unwavering commitment to unparalleled quality.

"That said, we still expect fiscal 2018 to be a year of strong earnings and cash provided by operating activities for Take-Two, despite an unusually light release slate, driven by new releases of NBA 2K and WWE 2K, our robust catalog led by Grand Theft Auto, and innovative offerings designed to drive engagement and recurrent consumer spending. Looking ahead to fiscal 2019, we expect to deliver both record Net Sales and record net cash provided by operating activities, in excess of $2.5 billion and $700 million, respectively, led by the launches of Rockstar Games' Red Dead Redemption 2 and a highly anticipated new title from one of 2K's biggest franchises."

Borderlands 3? They did that tech showcase recently and I imagine after Battleborn battlebombed they were probably eager to jump on a safe bet.

Though I wonder if letting Borderlands sit on the backburner while Destiny/ The Division/ etc. came along will come back to bite them in the bottom, or is the Borderlands name big enough on its own to rise above the competition.

Freaking finally. I've been saying we haven't had a decent table tennis game this gen for a while now.

No I haven't.

Bioshock 4.

Borderlands 3 is already announced, Civ 6, Mafia 3, and XCOM 2 came out last year, and their sports games are every year.

I'm expecting Borderlands 3 to be formerly announced either at Microsoft's E3 or the Game Awards in December, so that.

Whatever it is, try to balance out your production cost, so that your game doesn't have to sell 8 Million copies to break even. lol

Outside of Rockstar games, does 2k have any non-sports mega franchises that still have mass appeal other than Borderlands?

Yes, there's Sid Meier stuff and Bioshock but Firaxis games tend to be PC only and judging by how quickly they wrapped up Irrational after BI shipped, you'd have to think it's probably not Bioshock).

Personally, I'd be happy for a new Bioshock, Borderlands or even a decent
Duke Nukem
game.

Would Borderlands count as one of 2K's franchises? I know Take Two publish them, but that statement makes it sound to me like something they actually own. Bioshock was my first thought, but Borderlands 3 is definitely in development so that seems likely too.

I mean, I'm pretty sure that they already announced Borderlands 3 was being worked on. If it's Bioshock, I'm skeptical of the quality with Irrational Games being gone.

The tone/style of Borderlands might be enough to differentiate itself. New mechanics/features in the game should also be enough to breathe some life too I think.

Well, Mafia 3 managed to be 2K's fastest selling game ever with 4.5 Million copies in a week. Still, they were required to sell 8 Million copies to break even with production costs.

Not sure if they managed to do this, but regardless of sales, they are still working on DLC that will release in mid-Summer and I can't imagine that they are already working on a sequel.

Edit: 5 Million shipped. Yeah, I doubt there will be a new one coming for a while:
