Absolutely, I had a flash the other day of a co-op Ninja Gaiden. Seeing one of the Famitsu shots of Ryu and the girl fighting back to back. I didn't think it meant this would have co-op, but it just made me think it'd be great to see it.

I'm now insanely excited for Sigma 2.

i feel like i ought to clarify this -- i was just handed this paper press release while doing the interview but i guess nobody posted this yet.

Online Co-op: Two people can engage in online co-op play, with voice chat, in 10 different stages (in 4 difficulty settings) to complete special missions. Rankings from each mission are recorded and posted online, where gamers can choose their opponents based on players' mission stats.

posting that because (a) it sounds kind of crazy and (b) people are prone to jumping to conclusions about what format the co-op might take, and i wanted to present this info, as apparently it's not out there!

So it's like the Splinter Cell Chaos Theory co-op (I know, strange comparison) in that it's missions specifically designed for co-op. That's fair enough, still totally awesome.

Now all we need is online versus and less projectile spam and we'll basically have the best game possible.

So they're stages that are specially designed for co-op. That's pretty sweet! A sign of things to come for NG3, probably.

Hayashi now all you have to do is get the game to actually run at 720p, get some deferred rendering for added blood effects, improve the lighting, and we have a deal.
