The latest promotional campaign Ubisoft is undertaking for Ghost Recon: Wildlands takes the form of a live-action short - a 30-minute short movie that will focus on the Santa Blanca cartel that seems to be the main antagonistic force in Wildlands. It's called Ghost Recon Wildlands: War Within the Cartel.
Lead by a terrifying man named El Sueño, the cartel has turned Bolivia into a narco-state, but as ever with power and influence, corruption is afoot... and the cartel has a traitor in its midst. El Muro (Head of Security), El Yayo (Head of Production), Nidia Flores (Head of Operations) and Head of Influence (El Cardenal) team up in the short to hunt down this traitor, and ensure they're served their just desserts.
The series is directed by Avi Youabian, who has experience with TV shows Tainted Love and The Walking Dead, and the executive producer is Orlando Jones - a prolific writer, actor and producer. We know live action game tie-ins are often sub-par, but this one definitely has some interesting talent behind it.
The short will debut on Ubisofts Twitch channel on February 16th (Monday), and then become available for download via Amazon Prime after the stream.
