The most surprising thing about this is how well spoken he is. It makes me imagine that he had a good life at one point, but something fucked it all up. Glad to see him back on his feet and kicking his addictions.

Glad to see he's doing well. I remember reading he had some problems with rehab/getting the police called on him.

What the hell, he lives better than me!

Good for him! I was hoping he wasn't going to relapse.

Before we praise America we should also recognize that the conditions which allowed him to become homeless in the first place (and hundreds of thousands others) were created in the same country. Glad he was able to leave that situation, though.

Heh, I expected him to be homeless again and all but forgotten by everyone. This is good!

Thats awesome. Good thing he had enough of a legit support group around him over the last year to help him through multiple rehab attempts.

I was worried about him when he kept popping up in the news with drug and domestic issues. I almost gave up on him, so it's glad to see he made it through.

Ugh, seriously though, ET taking credit?

Yeah, how dare we disillusion ourselves with a moment of happiness without scrutinizing every aspect of that happiness?

You must be the life of the party.

What a feel good story. I remember not hearing much about him after first hearing about his story. So good that he got himself together.

Weird as hell seeing him. I take that exit all the time. I probably rolled by him a few times and never knew..

Yep. I assumed people would use him and move on after the hype had settled. I'm glad I was wrong.

Yeah, drug addiction is purely an American problem. If he lived in some other country that would have never happened to him, and he never would have become homeless. /sarcasm

What... and rags and riches is some kinda exclusively American story too?

What a clusterfuck this thread is. Congrats on GAF for interjecting your petty politics into everything.

Hopefully the public never forgets about Ted. He seems like a guy who could turn into a role model for some if he keeps it together.

Great to hear. I remember people expecting him to be homeless again by this time, and after reports of his early struggles I was worried they were right.

I hope he's able to avoid people who will try to take advantage of him. This story ain't over yet, but it looks more like it'll have a happy ending. Seems like a great guy who had a lot of demons he was able to, or has been working to, overcome.
