TEKKEN 7 |OT| How I killed your mother

Leo is actually not that bad. I never really used the character that much in T6 and Tag 2 but he/she seems like a good Julia like character.

Going through the ending movies from past games, I've come to two conclusions:

  • The story is absolutely ridiculous. I don't know where this "Tekken is more serious than Street Fighter" stuff comes from, both are bonkers in their own way.

  • Lee Chaolan is a motherfucking baller.

If Ihad another complain about this game it's that I miss a goofy stage. Mainly I just want the sheep stage back.

Mishimas are pretty heinous. They throw family members, including children, off of cliffs, into volcanoes, into dungeons for years, murder their wives, scientists working for them, start wars and murder tons of innocents. And all of this is shown in game.

Meanwhile Dictator is pretty screwed up but most of his crimes are done off camera.

RIP 36 win streak.

I went from beginner to marauder in one go. The last player I played pretty much showed me how brutal the game can be when there's a tiny difference in skill.

Round start: Bryan does taunt b4 into ff2.

It was all down hill from there.

That's not as heinous as it sounds, at least on heihachi's part. He had reasons for
throwing kaz off the cliff
and
killing his wife.

Played through the sidestories last night and saw Leo being adressed as a he. I'm not a member of the LGBTQ community myself, but that sure made my day.

On-Topic of Josie, I, too, have fallen in love with her design. She is a beautiful character to watch fight.

Tekken actually has a story, and can also be bonkers. Street Fighter is cute because it pretends like it has a story.

Anyone else preorder but not get a DLC code? I tried contacting the store but they don't know what it is, and Namco support with proof of order and purchase but they referred me to the store. Come on. Unless I missed something, I'm getting sceptical that I'll get it...

On another note, the gameplay is very good.. But the mode options seem pretty bare bone. The biggest omission for me is team battle. Have they talked about that? It's probably my favorite mode, and a franchise stable.

If you're in Europe it should be on your receipt. If you're in the US there should be a code inside your box.

After playing Tekken 7 and Street Fighter V's story modes, as well as playing all the numbered entries of both series, I think both have a story that's equally nonsense and inconsequential.

The biggest difference is Tekken is a little less vague and they'll state things definitively happened even if it doesn't matter too much. The core of every Tekken game is that this family of superpowered martial artists/CEOs keep attempting fratricide, which fails, and then who runs the zaibatsu and/or tournament switches hands a game.

I think Namco cares more about Tekken's plot than Capcom does with SF but the result is roughly the same: barebones and uneventful. SFV is doing what Tekken has always done which is connecting dots and filling in details so up until SF3's timeline everything is pretty concrete. Doesn't make it feel any less like the story was cribbed from G.I. Joe, though.

Can I get recommendations for fight sticks for PC/PS4 please?

Don't care about budget, just want one that is good and built to last.

The T7 Hori stick is awesome. The Razer Panthera is great. Qanba Obsidian is nice.

Super high end would be the Qanba Dragon and the Hori VLX.

Dragon and VLX are HUGE, so might not be what you're looking for. I'd personally recommend the T7 Hori. It's one of my favorites. I haven't played on a Qanba, but friends I know with them think they newer models are good.

Thanks. The T7 looks solid, think I'll grab one of those.

Same results definitely. Tekken just feels more cohesive than whatever lore that SF is trying to hold.

Everything will be alright when Capcom reveals how Ryu, Alex, and Akuma teach everyone how to parry before the Third Strike reboot comes out :)

Is this the same as the Hori T7?

Entirely different cases and button layouts, but same parts inside. This is Hori's standard stick. The case is smaller and lighter than the Hori T7.

The T7 one also has a headphone jack if that matters to you.

Personally I prefer the case of the T7 one, but I'm not sure if it's $30 (plus they increase shipping for me because of weight) better.

Cool, thanks. Can't find the T7 in stock anywhere other than the US unfortunately.

Point. Don't usually think about that since I use a wireless headset. :)

Tekken 7 is the first main line game in the series I've played since bailing on 4, and I love it. It's probably my favorite since 2. Even the rage arts, which I was iffy on, are a great tool for balancing out a match.

And I just have to say... I can't help but shout "Tiger Uppercut" in my best Sagat voice every time Kazumi does a literal one.
