BETA F.A.Q. [NA]

Q: Are the beta tests under NDA?
A: No, the beta tests are not under NDA. Feel free to screenshot, record, stream, and share your experiences with the world!

Q: Where do I download the beta client from?
A: If you pre-ordered the game from En Masse, log into your En Masse account and check the "Account" page. There should be an option to download the installer. If you received a beta code from a retailer or game site, you will need to redeem the code on your account before the client will become available. If you're having trouble maintaining a good download speed, go into Launcher Settings and turn off P2P sharing.

Q: Will I have to download or install a new client for launch?
A: No. The beta client will be fully updated to the launch client and will carry you through open beta, head start, and beyond.

Q: Where do we submit bug reports and provide feedback from the beta to En Masse?
A: Head to the official TERA community forums. There is an entire sub-set of forums dedicated to beta feedback.

Q: What will happen between each beta phase?
A: Starting with closed beta, En Masse will be treating every player as a paying customer and their feedback will matter. They will work on tweaking short term issues and planning for long term content shifts. Long term feedback will be prioritized into a content update schedule. There is a dedicated team at Bluehole standing by to address all western needs. Gone are the days for games from the east not having the development team's attention and dedication to our market. What En Masse changes and tweaks will be determined by us and not by what update plan another market is following.

A: How will open beta be different from closed beta?
A: First of all, open beta will make major changes to the starting experience that have been in the works for some time now. This may coincide with K-TERA's recent update that includes a complete revamp of 1-40 leveling. In addition, anyone that applies to test during open beta will be granted access to the game during the test period, with or without a pre-order. The open beta is also the true start date for all pre-order customers! See below for more information.

PRE-ORDER CUSTOMERS WILL BE ABLE TO BEGIN PLAYING TERA ON APRIL 19TH!

All pre-order customers that participate in closed beta will be able to carry over all character data until the end of closed beta. Non pre-order customers will have their character data deleted after each beta test. After the final closed beta, there will be a complete wipe. Just before the open beta begins, pre-order customers will be allowed to select their server, create a character, and reserve their character name. Only one character name reservation will be allowed at this time. Finally, the open beta will begin, which will be the actual start date for pre-order customers. There will be no character wipe after open beta!

What is TERA?
TERA or The Exiled Realm of Arborea, is an MMORPG developed by Bluehole Studio utilizing Epic's Unreal Engine 3, that was originally released in South Korea on January 25, 2011.

What differentiates TERA from other MMOs?
TERA's biggest selling point is its "True Action Combat" system. The system features live-action interactive combat with a free-targeting mechanism that places emphasis on player skill, positioning, timing, and aim rather than player level and equipment. Timing, dodging, and chaining abilities, spells, and attacks are vital to a player's success.

Who is Bluehole Studio?
Bluehole Studio is a new South Korean based development studio established in 2007 with a focus on creating the best MMOs imaginable for the global market that can exceed both Eastern and Western expectations. Bluehole was founded by former NCSoft veterans and employees that worked on the Lineage series of MMO games. Bluehole is currently working very closely with En Masse Entertainment, their North American subsidiary that was previously known as Bluehole Interactive. Bluehole Studio won the Presidential award for TERA at the 2011 Korean Game Awards. The game also received awards for Graphics, Character Design, and Sound.

Who is En Masse Entertainment and why should I care?
En Masse is comprised of former NCSoft CTOs Dr. Jae-Heon Yang and Patrick Wyatt. Wyatt worked with Blizzard on Warcraft, Starcraft, and Diablo. Wyatt also co-founded Arenanet, developer of Guild Wars. Other team members include Chris Lee who worked on properties such as Need for Speed, Halo, and Age of Empires and former NCSoft employees Brian Knox and Yong Taek Bae.

These industry veterans are responsible for localizing, marketing, and publishing TERA in North America. En Masse worked with Bluehole prior to the Korean release and their close relationship and continued feedback to Bluehole Studio is instrumental in the current and future development of TERA as a global MMO product for all markets. En Masse Entertainment is considered the North American branch of Bluehole Studio and was previously known as Bluehole Interactive, a subsidiary of Bluehole Studio.

Who is Frogster?
Frogster is a Berlin-based international publisher of online computer games, currently focusing on marketing and publishing MMO titles. Frogster has partnered with En Masse and Bluehole Studio to publish the game in English, French, and German for the European market.

STORY
Thousands of years ago, two titans of unimaginable power, Arun and Shara, entered into formless voids and for reasons we can only guess, fell asleep. As the two titans slumbered, TERA emerged around them. The first beings to call Tera home were twelve godlike beings, formed from the dreams of the titans. It was not long before these gods were at war with each other. As the dream continued, new creatures emerged known as mortals. They were less powerful but far more numerous. Arun dreamed of ambitious Elves, clever Humans, honor bound Amani, powerful Giants, scheming Devas, and mischievous Poporis. Shara dreamed of sly Sikandari, dark Gulas and Vampirs, fierce Wendigos, strange Faeries, and serpentine Nagas. The mortals were forced into the divine wars of the gods, which eventually left the gods dead, imprisoned, or otherwise diminished. The mortal races did not escape unscathed. Some—like the Sikandari, and most of the Giants—were wiped out but others rose from the ashes such as the Barakas and Castanics. Now that the wars have ended, the seven races; Amani, Barakas, Castanics, Elin, High Elves, Humans, and Poporis must band together to fend off a new enemy. A metallic race from the underworld called Argons; their goal is to wake the titans and bring about the destruction of TERA. As a Valkyon Federation solider, you must ally with the seven races in a fight for your existence in order to prevent this great cataclysm.

F.A.Q.

Q: Should I be concerned about the NCSoft lawsuit against En Masse and Bluehole?
A: NCSoft is seeking an injunction against En Masse to prevent the release of TERA in North America. NCSoft is claiming that former employees that created Bluehole Studio stole Lineage 3 assets and used them along with other trade secrets to create TERA. A similar lawsuit was filed against Bluehole in South Korea which resulted in jail time for some employees and fines but did not prevent the launch or ongoing production and development of the game. The court decision was later overturned by a higher court authority in Korea in favor of Bluehole. I see this as nothing more than NCSoft attempting to drag TERA and Bluehole's name through the mud in hopes of getting a pay off. This will likely have zero impact on the launch or maintenance of the game.

Q: Will there be a trial period?
A: Anyone that purchases the game will receive 30 days of free game time. The EU version includes 37 free days of gametime.

Q: Can I play this with a controller?
A: Yes, the game will feature full controller support as well as robust Keyboard and Mouse support.

Q: Will there be a console version?
A: The game is currently PC only and there are no plans to develop a console version.

Q: What is the current level cap?
A: The level cap will be 60 at launch.

Q: Is there going to be open world PVP?
A: There will be PVP and PVE servers available at NA launch. PVP servers will feature open PVP while PVE servers will feature consensual PVP via battlegrounds and duels.

Q: What are the major differences from the Korean release?
A: The English release is being completely localized with full voice acting. En Masse is going the extra mile by ensuring that the localization is appropriate for Western tastes and that the story and lore will meet our demanding expectations. Most items, races, classes, spells, skills, and abilities are direct translations from the Korean version but the story and quests have undergone a few cultural changes. The way PVP works will be slightly different for Western audiences and En Masse will be adding PVP only and PVE only servers for the NA release. In addition, the sexuality of the Elin race has been significantly toned down (e.g. shorts to cover the lower body, extensions to existing armor to cover more revealing parts of the body such as cleavage, etc.).

Q: Does future development of the game look promising?
A: TERA launched in South Korea at the beginning of last year and Bluehole has already released a major expansion for the game with a second expansion coming in February that will add a new class, new zones, new dungeons, and raise the level cap to 60. In addition to the major updates, there have been several minor updates that have added additional content to the game. All of these were released as free updates to the game. Bluehole outlined a massive update plan for the first year of the game's release which still hasn't been finished and I'm sure they have a lot of plans for the future.

Q: Is there an authenticator available for enhanced account security?
A: En Masse uses a proprietary account security system called "Account Armor" that works like "Steam Guard" for Steam. If an unrecognized machine is detected at login, the user will be prompted to enter an authentication code sent to the user's e-mail address.

Q: How many characters are allowed per account?
A: Currently there are 8 individual character slots allowed per server, per account.

Q: Where are the servers located?
A: The NA servers are located on the East Coast, in Chicago. EU servers are located in Frankfurt, Germany.

RACES

I. AMAN
Enslaved by conquering giants and later freed by the goddess Kaia, the Amani value freedom above all things. The Amani are a tough race of Draconian humanoids that have put aside their hatred for giants as members of the Valkyon Federation in order to cooperate with the seven races, including the Baraka, descendents of the giants.

Capital City:
Kaiator - The "Iron Bastion of North". The city's immense dome scrapes the heavens and its people honor and praise their goddess patron, Kaia.

Racial Traits:
  • Kaitor's Drums - Teleport at will to Kaiator, the Amani home city. 1 hour cooldown.

Capital City:
None

CqQFj.png

IV. ELIN
Protectors of nature, the Elins are much older and wiser than they appear and live a very long existence. Elins have a vicious sense of humor and other races often find their behavior and mannerism to be other worldly and strange. The Elins' physical appareance is derived from Elinu, who created the Elin in the appearance of Arun's youngest daughter, reflecting a naive desire for beauty and peace.

Capital City:
Pora Elinu - A small city that is wholly contained inside the trunk of a giant tree. Pora Elinu stands as a tribute to the goddess Elinu.

Racial Traits:
  • Velik's Horn - Teleport to Velika, the federation's capital. 1 hour cooldown.
  • Soothing Presence - Moving slowly and carefully will allow you to sneak by monsters undetected. 1 hour cooldown.
  • Horizon Run - Speed up movement out of combat for a limited time. 30 minute cooldown.
  • Botanist - Gather plant resources faster than any other race.
  • Friendly Current - Elins move faster in water than any other race.

R6Mx5.png

V. HIGH ELF
Once a conquering nation for over three thousand years, after suffering a defeat against the allied Humans, Amani, Popori, and Baraka in the defense of the human territory of Essenia, the High Elves decided to instead embrace the changes sweeping throughout the world. They joined the Valkyon Federation to fight against the Argon forces as allies with the other races. Some still think they harbor secrets and have not forgotten their conquering ways but their dedication to the Valkyon Federation is heartfelt and real.

Capital City:
Allemantheia - A jeweled oasis at the center of the desert of southern Shara. Filled with gilded architecture, Allemantheia is considered to be one of the most beautiful cities in TERA, rivaling even the great human capital of Velika.

Racial Traits:
  • Core's Resonance - Teleport at will to Allemantheia, the High Elf home city. 1 hour cooldown.
  • Core Infusion - Elves can draw power from the Core and completely refill their mana. 2 hour cooldown.
  • Resilience of Mind - Regenerate a portion of mana after resurrection.
  • Coalescence - Gather alchemical essenses faster than any other race.

wuviQ.png

VI. HUMAN
Cursed by their god to wander, humans turned this adversity into an advantage by using their exile as a learning experience. With the knowledge obtained, Humans created the Valkyon Federation without guidance of any diety and are now admired by all nations in the world for their effort in bringing together a coalition to stop the Argons and return the world to peace. Velik, goddess of the hunt, took pity on the Humans and granted them the homeland of Velika which they had been long denied.

Capital City:
Velika - The City of Wheels. The City of Falcons. Velik's Dream. A magnificent Human capital that is the political and cultural center for life in souther Arun. Velik's wheel turns ceaselessly at its center, providing magical energy to power the city's workshops and factories.

CLASSES
Ratings refer to control difficulty and the offensive, defensive, and support capabilities of each class. The ratings are listed on the class selection screen of the NA client.

CW0MW.png

I. ARCHER
If you like having a tool for every job, the archer is the class for you...especially if you like tools that explode, penetrate armor, trap enemies in magical spider webs, or transform into radiant energy. Archers leave behind a trail of victims that look like pincushions—many dead before they knew what hit them. The archer rewards the use of clever tactics and thinking two steps ahead of your enemy.

Adventuring archers use remarkable bows. Instead of a string of gut and leather, their bowstrings are of arcane energy. In place of wooden arrows, they fire arrows of pure willpower. An archer's arrows effortlessly punch through enemy armor, consume foes in fiery energy, and trap them so they can't even flee! Archers deal death from afar. They excel at firing from beyond a foe's retaliation range, and using their escape moves to stay there. They can take the high ground for a better view of the overall battle, pick off foes that flee for help, and deal out damage without pulling aggro from the tanks.

Rating: Control 1/5, Defense 1/5, Offense 3/5, Support 2/5

Archer Guide

  • Light Armor - Leather
  • Bow
  • Melee, Ranged
  • Mobile, Fast, Evasive
  • Traps

o6H2l.png

II. BERSERKER
The berserker is an offensive juggernaut who shakes the ground with each blow and sends opponents flying with every massive swing, with better-than-average defensive capabilities that include heavy armor and an axe block that absorbs damage according to the quality of the axe.

Berserkers have multiple ways of recharging their own mana, and can absorb damage dealt to a foe as health. Their rage and bloodlust raise their strength to help end a fight quickly. They fend for themselves better than many classes, and their capacity for sheer destruction gives them a place of honor in any party.

Rating: Control 2/5, Defense 1/5, Offense 4/5, Support 2/5

Berserker Guide

  • Heavy Armor - Plate
  • Large 2-Handed Axe
  • Melee, Close
  • High Defense, Blocking
  • Slow Moving
  • Charge Attacks, Scatters, Stuns, Knockdowns, Turn Arounds, AOE

JE2hT.png

III. LANCER
Stand fast at the heart of the storm, roaring defiance into the wind. Shield your friends and smite your enemies. Pin down your foes and laugh as they try to knock you down.

As powerful in defense as in attack, the lancer’s role in a fight is at the head of the formation. His heavy shield absorbs damage, while his lance provides striking power that’s targeted yet effective against multiple foes. Numerous skills for drawing aggro let the lancer take the heat and give his party members more opportunities. Lancers can minimize damage to their own party and help them devastate the enemy.

Rating: Control 3/5, Defense 5/5, Offense 1/5, Support 3/5

Lancer Guide
  • Heavy Armor - Plate
  • Lance and Shield
  • Melee, Medium/Close
  • Tank
  • High Defense, Defending, Blocking
  • Multi-Strike Attacks
  • Crowd Control, Protection, Support, Stuns, Penetration

uFu4g.png

IV. MYSTIC
A mystic walks a wild path, combat pets at her sides, wielding primal powers to harm and heal, empowering her allies while cursing her enemies. Mystics travel the whole battlefield freely. They fight at close quarters, healing and boosting allies, draining and destroying enemies. They channel powerful auras that enhance whole groups. They summon allies to draw aggro, to fight, or to heal, and can summon their entire party from one location to another.

Add extensive crowd control and the capability to resurrect fallen allies, and you can see why adventuring parties seek them out. They add to the longevity of any party, can seize an out-of-control situation and dominate it until their allies are on the offensive again, or simply unleash their own magical fury. Mystics make their comrades better at what they do—and a whole lot more.

Rating: Control 5/5, Defense 1/5, Offense 4/5, Support 5/5

Mystic Guide
  • Light Armor - Robes
  • Scepter
  • Magic
  • Pets
  • Healer, Support
  • Crowd Control, Buff/Debuff, DOT, AOE

aXymi.png

V. PRIEST
Priests can bring allies back from the brink of death and beyond while burning and blasting their way through phalanxes of enemies. Priests derive power from their devotion to the gods, but it’s their devotion to others that earns them fame and friends on the battlefield. A priest has killing skills enough to survive alone in the toughest situations, and support spells to fortify, purify, and resurrect party members in need.

In fact, priests have more spells at their disposal than almost any other discipline. Priests are a support class that can also hold their own against foes. They keep themselves and their allies alive and regenerated while guarding them from critical damage, and still spare time to target foes for searing blasts of divine energy. They can target one comrade for healing, or remove poisons and curses from any nearby friendly player. They can stand up allies who have been knocked down, or put their enemies to sleep. It's no wonder that some say the party with the most skilled priest is the most likely to win victory in the field.

Rating: Control 3/5, Defense 2/5, Offense 5/5, Support 4/5

Priest Guide
  • Light Armor - Robes
  • Staff
  • Magic
  • Healer, Support
  • Crowd Control, Buff, Damage

U7bGE.png

VI. SLAYER
Slayers blend high mobility with high damage capabilities, a versatile and valuable party member, and a gifted solo act, too. It takes a certain flair to wield a massive weapon, and slayers move so freely and easily with their huge blades that they might be dancing with silk. A slayer wades into the fight like a two-edged whirlwind, swinging his powerful sword in deadly arcs, and evading his foes in a graceful dance.

The slayer does his job with aggressive swordplay, graceful evasive moves, and overwhelming force. Wide-sweeping circular attacks mow down enemies on all sides, agile dodges puts the slayer behind the foe, and leaping backflip kicks stun the enemy and open distance. Despite their light armor, slayers can fight in the thick of things along with warriors. They are faster and more mobile than berserkers, and their whirling attack style allows them to excel at taking out surrounding mobs.

Like warriors, slayers can dodge out of harm's way and come up behind foes. Because they don't draw aggro as easily as some other classes, slayers excel at attacking enemies from the rear while tanks keep them busy from the other sides.

Rating: Control 3/5, Defense 1/5, Offense 3/5, Support 4/5

Slayer Guide
  • Light Armor - Leather
  • 2-Handed Greatsword
  • Melee, Close/Medium
  • Fast, Mobile, Evasive

VII. SORCERER
Sorcerers fight from range, shaping magic through an arcane disc, channeling the force of will into sheets of flame, icy blades, and spheres of pure energy. The sorcerer strikes and evades and strikes again, flanking the foe, leaping out of danger, playing a game of position. With only sorcerous robes for protection, staying clear of attacks is vital, and dealing massive damage in a spectacular fashion is all in a day's work for this explosive class.

Warriors of the intellect, sorcerers are at their best when they stand apart, watch for vulnerability, and then make their foes pay dearly for it. Sorcerers may not be as flexible as other classes, but when your close-quarters companions fall in battle it's awfully nice to have arcane artillery at your disposal.

VIII. WARRIOR
A warrior deals damage with impressive, deadly feats of swordplay while weaving in and out of enemies' attacks. It's the warrior's way to dive into the middle of the fray and mow down the opposition. Invulnerability while using the Evasive Roll skill means the warrior can do enough damage to hold aggro, and still dodge and roll out of harm's way. Coming up from behind an opponent after a roll enables the warrior to strike from behind, before his opponent can turn and counterattack.

The warrior's deft moves and quick dodges make it easy to hold aggro while avoiding damage. Quick to make decisions and quicker to draw swords, the warrior will not fall back on the battlefield. If you've misplaced your warrior, always look ahead—never behind

Played this last E3 and enjoyed it.

But...isn't the NCSoft lawsuit against Bluehole relevant to something like this? Seems like it could shut them down pretty much anytime...just a matter of the court process. If that happens, there goes Tera and EnMasse here, too, right? They've already won against the employees that left NCSoft and took code, so it seems like a matter of time and due process.

I think you get that if you don't log into your En Masse account first.

One question for the future beta players who played the k/jTERA - what really is different?
I've played the jBeta and to be honest that's the only thing about the English release that I'm interested about.

From what I played, I liked it. Is this game actually any good though? I didn't play beyond level 10 and I liked what I played of it, but is this just another Korean game that'll end up like Aion?

Btw. - really? They've put a compass into the CE instead of an authenticator, which won the poll for the most wanted CE item iirc...?

They already filed against Bluehole in Korean courts who ended up paying out like 8m USD or something. The same will probably happen here, but I doubt it will stop the launch from happening (or even being delayed).

Really good deal on the multi-month subscription.
Yup. Went ahead and signed up for the yearly sub.

AFAIK, nothing outside of the Elin changes is different (and those will be patched out by fans anyway). Even reading through the official translations of places and skills, they're almost 1:1 to the Korean version.

It's fantastic. I quit Aion at 42 because of the grind but I have a cap character in K-TERA, and am working on getting another one there.

Well, I guess it's the same "westernization" treatment we got with Aion, despite all the interviews in which they stated that there will be changes and new quests...

Looks like those of us who live in Japan and want to play the English version of TERA are SOL because they don't have a billing option for Japan listed. Heh, I figured something like this would happen. I pre-ordered from Amazon, but they didn't have the collector's edition, but trying to do so from their site won't let me do it since I live in Japan. :(

These two to three day closed beta tests are ridiculous, and then an open beta is four freaking days? I have lost so much hype for this game that I no longer care anymore.

En Masse is the worst publisher of an MMO I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with.

I focused tested this game almost THREE YEARS ago, and it is just now starting its US testing? Absurd.

You understand that the game is ready and they only want to test server's behavior under stress and translations, right?

I believe they're also enforcing an IP block for the Asia region on the NA servers.

That would suck ass considering they said on the forums that they wouldn't do that. I was able to pre-order on Amazon, but with no forums, it's not possible to get more information about this from them directly. I'm going to send them an e-mail about it.

I'm still keeping my eye on this, but I am mostly disappointed that instead of Lineage III I get TERA and a Diablo clone Lineage III instead.

Will I ever have the pleasure of watching the exp I've gained over the last two hours vanish in a 2 minute pvp again?

So this is the first time seeing this game, I've heard of it but never payed any heed. I'm wanting to find some actual recent gameplay videos of the combat ect..

Edit: nvm found some. game looks really good. So I have the basic Q's
What are there plans for endgame?
What lvl is the current max?
Any word on pvp?
How many factions?
Raids/Dungeons?
How big is the game world?
How credible is enmasse to create a compelling MMO?

Hold on, friend! I'd love to share with you some swell news about the Windows 8 Metro UI! Wait, where are you going?
Holy crap the Frost Lion mount shall be mine!

Euro site has a preorder kit up for 5 euro. Giving you just the preorder goodies and beta access. If you do decide to buy the game later on, then the price will be reduced by that 5 euro.

I was able to pretty much max out the Korean version with Q6600 2.4GHz and a GTX470. You will be fine, the thing runs on UE3 so its not too demanding at all.

sweet, which resolution?

I hope I get into the beta, because I need to experience how this plays before deciding to preorder.

Edit: BTW, this thread feels discriminatory. Shouldn't it be about both the NA and EU TERA? Otherwise adding NA to the title would do wonders, as I entering it thinking it would have information for the EU release as well.

how's the performance on sli 580?

The game is heavily CPU-bound on high-end multi-GPU setups. I was using GTX 470 SLI during my time in K-Tera and when I went to the town with the 3,295 NPC player shops all stacked on top of each other I would get 8-10 fps whether one GPU was enabled or both were.

Not in this day and age.

Should I do this....
Yes.

1.) Lots of 5 man dungeons, handful of raids, server vs. server (invasions etc), battlegrounds, arenas, guild vs. guild, political system.

2.) Currently, in Korea, it's 58. It will be 60 for NA launch however.

3.) Yes. What are you are you looking for info on specifically?

4.) One faction. Open world FFA PvP.

5.) Yes. Right now no raids, but there will be at least one (probably two) for NA launch. There are fifteen 5-man dungeons in the game currently. Pretty sure they're shooting for closer to 20+ for NA launch (three new ones in next Korean patch, which is bringing cap to 59).

6.) Large. Not WoW-big, but there's a lot of landmass.

7.) EnMasse is only localizing. Bluehole, the people who actually make the game, are all ex-NCSoft employees from the Lineage 2 team.

Never drops below 120hz triple buffered at 1980x1080 w/ 4xMSAA, 2xTSSAA (in towns sometimes I'll dip below 100, but it doesn't happen often). I should play around with AA settings more, they've made a lot of optimizations since I last settled on my current settings. 2600k @ 4.5GHz.

I hope the true action combat system in this game is similar to what Asherons Call offered, while also offering an integrated dodge mechanic. Sounds like it could be awesome. But, what little I've heard of it, it didn't do very well in Asia at all? And, despite it offering these mechanics, I wonder if it 'also' features those standard, bogged down, simplified (And, as a result, a lack of player choice. To extremes, almost.) WoW mechanics and interfaces.

And no disrespect to WoW fans. I played it for a couple of years, and I respect it for what it is, but the WoW model works only for WoW.

Then it should be no problem for me managing 60 at 2560x1440, 2xmsaa, the same cpu and oc but with 560 ti sli OC instead.

I hope I get into the beeeta

Really impressed by the trailers, they are really well made.

For those who ve played the game, how viable is the game pad option ?

Quite viable, surprisingly. I personally wouldn't do instances and PvP with a controller (because I'm not great at it) but I know people who do and perform just fine.

I played on Japanese servers and there's no way I would play it without a pad. The game was pretty much made for gamepad use.

I wouldn't say it was made for it, but it definitely does the job. I find that the mouse is still more precise than a pad, but that might be more my class than anything (Berserker - sloooow) and the fact that in endgame dungeons you've got milliseconds of time to turn and react to some bosses.

Sorry! I originally intended this thread to cover both the EU and NA release but due to the difference in publishers there was a lot of information to sort through. I'm planning to update the thread by this weekend with some EU information as well but wanted to focus on the NA release for now. I went ahead and added some basic information.

I've been super pumped for this game for about a year now, but the wind was taken out of my sails a bit when I heard it was a $50 box release with a $15/month fee. I thought it was going to be free to play! :(

A good example of how little time you have to respond in some instances. Every time a shield icon comes up the Lancer is blocking. When enraged many endgame bosses have 3-5 times normal attack speed. I tried a controller in an instance and after dying a couple of times I gave it up and went back to a mouse. However, I also have ~300ms ping to Korean servers, so that could be breaking my experience.

What made you think that? It's not even F2P in Korea. Try the beta and see if you like it. Personally, I'm really happy that it's not F2P - cash shops, if implemented poorly (like in 99% of F2P MMOs), can ruin the game.

Is there something said about this coming to consoles at all? Seeing that this has full controller support it doesnt seem that far fetched, right?

If the game is successful on PC I'd wager that a console port might not be out of the question, but that's a big if.
