Now?? The OP took me like three hours to perfect. Am I the only one who puts three hours into their OT OTs?? :(
I'm calling shenanigans on that, since this post:

Terrisus, I'm glad you're here; do you love broccoli yet?
Was only an hour and a half before this thread was created.

I mean, unless you just randomly sit around thinking about how to make threads about me <3

This poster pulses with an appeal so broad the typical restraints of our societies fall by the wayside.

Stems > florets. I accidentally bought a frozen package of florets instead of cuts last week and was so disappointed when I opened the bag.

maxc writes up entire OP's and then saves them for the perfect moment (the moment he can't resist the urges any longer)

Don't doubt maxc, he knows everything about all of us

Anyway, yesterday she had me try to eat some broccoli that she had cooked. It tasted like mushy grass. She tried putting some melted cheese on it, and it tasted like grass mixed with cheese, and it tasted like grass mixed with cheese. Today we tried just having it raw, and it literally tastes like I'm eating grass. I keep gagging on it, and can't swallow it. Tried putting it inside a piece of cheese, and same thing. It's not like I'm not trying, I just can't do it.
What a deceitful account...! You're always trying to put off non-broccoli consumers from trying it out...! You don't TRY to eat broccoli. You just eat it and get it over with. Bah.

I'm surprised by the proportion of people that love broccoli. I don't love it, but i can eat 'em. Steamed and served with steamed potatoes and bechamel poured over them is how i like 'em.

I never understood the American dislike of Broccoli until I went there on holiday and found that it seemed to be the only vegetable served with meals

Which was weird.

I eat a bag of broccoli every day. Great stuff. I prolly ought to get the fresh stuff, but frozen suits me fine. Also it makes your piss smell like broccoli.

Took me about six or seven times of eating it before I started to really like it, before that I ate it just because it is good for me.

Also, raw brocs dipped in a bit of ranch dressing is really good.
My office asked me what kind of food I wanted at a recent party. I opted for broccoli and I was the only one who ate it. That evening my boss emailed me and said I should feel free to have the rest. The next day I saw the email and ate a big bowlful of raw broccoli for lunch, drizzled with some Italian dressing. Mmm.

I'll take Hibbert's word for it.

Dr. Hibbert: Another broccoli-related death.
Marge: But I thought broccoli was—
Dr. Hibbert: Oh yes. One of the deadliest plants on Earth. Why, it tries to warn you itself with its terrible taste.

But I didn't actually eat it. I put it into my mouth, chewed it, and tried to swallow it. But, my body rejected it and prevented me from doing so.

Homemade Neopolitan-style pizza with fermented dough, a big handful of broccoli rabe sauteed for five minutes in a tablespoon or two of olive oil in the cast-iron skillet, and shredded smoked mozzarella. Took about 4 mins total cook time.

Who the hell can't enjoy a dang stir-fried broccoli

I'll admit that the whole Midwestern buttery/cheesy broccoli thing makes me want to retch. People who do that tend to overcook it as well. What a nightmarish preparation for a food best served a little crunchy.

Just get a beef with broccoli at a Chinese restaurant, broccoli haters.
Ooh, great idea. I actually prefer chicken and broccoli, but both are legit good. You know what else is awesome? (And this will make Llyranor happy!) Chinese broccoli with oyster sauce at a good dim sum place:

Yeah, I would get sick from that alright.
Charred broccoli is delicious. I'm practically salivating here just *thinking* about those burnt little bits of floret!

I would totally roll that thing up and eat it in four bites tops , max, dammit
One bite per slice, then! Thanks man. I'd be glad to make it for you if you're ever in my neck of the woods.

And people say I'm strange for preferring steak to be charred and burnt.
On the contrary, char on the outside of a steak (beef or tuna!) is delicious. As long as it's not significantly past medium rare on the inside.

I'm with you on it more or less. I like things with a burnt taste like nearly black toast and coffee among other things
Not to mention all those poo bonds you like to eat, best served charred!

Raw broccoli tastes absolutely vile. I still eat it raw sometimes anyway because it's basically a superfood.

It is however a very versatile vegetable to cook with and can in some circumstances actually be tasty.

Count me in. I've always liked burnt foods for some reason (don't know about steaks though).
