Here we tell us what you hate when people do when they text you or when your in a conversation:

1)Don't text me because you're bored. Text me because you want to text me and have a conversation! I'm not anybody's damn last resort.

2)Never send a one worded text! It tells me that you're either bored, pissed off at me, etc. My most hated response? "Yeah" WTF am I supposed to reply to that? Start up a new convo? I hate when you write entire paragraphs and they respond with "yeah", ESPECIALLY females. FUUUCk.

3)lol. You're not laughing. Stop texting it unless you actually are.

4)Never text "brb". Do what the fuck you have to do, THEN text me. Jesus.

I got one.

Don't text someone unless you can get a conversation going, don't just text "hey", that shit always ends up going like

>Hey
>Hey, whats up?
>Nothing just watching Tv
>ohhh, i see
>Yeah
...

Why would you even bother texting if you can't even start or carry a conversation? I mean I could get a good one going, but I didn't text you so I don't really want to talk to you.

I hate text conversations in general. I only text if I need something (or someone needs something from me) or I want to ask a girl out. Otherwise I just call the person

This is the "uhm" of the texting world. It is unnecessary but does convey a cadence to the message
4)Never text "brb". Do what the fuck you have to do, THEN text me. Jesus.agree. I don't get when people flip out over someone not texting them back right away

I don't mind people texting "brb" because if you're having a back and forth text conversation and they disappear for three hours, it's super annoying.

I get annoyed when girls text asking for sex just for the sake of it

There are times where typing "k" isn't the worst thing in the world. Like if you're meeting someone somewhere in say 2 minutes from now and they say where they're going to be. But when you're not going to see the person you texted in a short amount of time, then I hate "k".

I hate this so much. You're gonna text me just to tell me you aren't doing anything? Really?

I also hate when people text me throughout the day keep asking me what I'm doing.

Texts in the early hours saying "You awake?", or people that get annoyed when you don't reply back straight away because your at work.

And text speak - everyone has a smart phone with autocorrect and whatnot and people still somehow manage to send you something you have to read more than once to understand.

Why would someone text to have a conversation? That's idiotic in itself. A quick chat is fine, asking a question, or a reminder of something, sure. You call someone to have a full conversation or at least get on a computer and type via IM. Texting a conversation would take forever.

Ads in text form suck.

Also, if it's a serious situation, call. Don't text.

If you are regularly writing texts with full paragraphs you may not be the ideal person to dispense tips on texting etiquette.

Texting is just for really simple questions that don't require much more then a yes or no as an answer. If it gets more complicated or you want to have a conversation, call.

Man I wish I could turn off texts. Everyone sending would have to get a 'Message delivery failed' so they know I don't get messages though.

This isn't regular, but in the blue moons that it DOES happen. I'd like at least a sentence at least.

That is called a phone call, not a text.

Hey fuckfaces, if you're writing paragraphs for a conversation, stop and use the microphone and speaker built in to your texting device.

Don't text if you are driving when I am in the passenger seat. I feel like I am about to die whenever you look down at your phone. God.

Nothing mentioned in this thread bothers me, even though I myself don't do any of those.

Question: Instead of texting back just "Yeah", would you be less annoyed by "Okay, sure thing"? They both mean the exact same thing and have as little chance to continue a conversation, but people seem to get annoyed by single word texts.

This is the only one I agree with, but there is NOTHING more annoying than this.

I don't know, I quite like this. Sure you have to put in a bit of effort to start a proper conversation, but it means they're thinking of you, which is nice.

Hmmm, how old are all the people complaining about having text conversations?

I do it all the time, hell I'm in 2 text conversations right now. Very rarely make calls, its usually only to find out where someone is on a night out or if I don't have time to wait for a reply via text.

Texting is awesome. Such an easy way to have great convos with people when neither is near a computer.

1. Text speak. Thank God this has died out for the most part.

2. One word replies. Don't expect me to send a message back after that. This is ok if a simple question was asked.

Only thing that really bugs me is the "chain" messages / picture messages. I get them from my sister every couple of days or so. It's literally the stereotypical "funny picture" office email forwards you'd get from your mom, but via text.

One of them a few weeks ago said that I shouldn't go out in the rain. Cause it's ALL RADIOACTIVE AND SHIT FROM JAPAN WHAAAAT. Complete with Fwd: Fwd: Fwd: Fwd: and a picture of a rain cloud.
