At least the federal governments starting to ask questions about what the fuck Dans doing. Even though its about the hotel quarantine stuff, which I largely think is a load of baloney, if it makes him look bad and ends with him losing his job, I'm all for it.

To clarify the baloney part too, its more that it just buys into the whole killer flu narrative. Does sound like a pretty good fuckup though with security guards off Gumtree and shit.

Bloody raining all day today.
I never went to the beach this morning, or at lunch.
I did go to the IGA to buy bacon and milk round 7am for brekkie.
Then I drove 20km into town to buy takeout for lunch, and then back to IGA in the afternoon to buy ingredients for dinner.
Took the dog to the beach very briefly in the afternoon between showers.

Today really sucked. weather was shit and I feel like I was locked up in the house all day because rain.
Is this how melbournians feel? I think so. I think I understand their plight.

Look guys, I know what you are going through. I had my own Melbourne day today.
I did do some really epic BBQ ribs out in my outdoor bbq area (that is covered by tin roof) and that was epic so not all was lost.
Yeah something like that. Only its cold and raining here as well as the whole living in a communist state thing. 20ks is prob a bit far for lunch though. And not sure walking the dog constitutes actual exercise either and you may have spent more then an hour in the yard outside, but other then that sounds like you got a slice of that vicommie life.

How the fuck would Dan and his union friends make money if they would have had to hire qualified people instead of minimum craigslist causauls? This is why this fucker is so allergic towards any questions about "how did you fuck up so bad?"

Most people in Victoria probably voted for this bastard. QLD to impose a permanent immigration ban for anyone from victoria that can not prove they never voted for this china loving communist.

It sucks being in Melbourne right now, you can't go anywhere interesting. My partner and I, before these lockdowns, would hit comedy clubs, go traveling, see live music etc. etc. But now, we mostly sit around at home doing fuck all in our free time. It SUCKS. The only time we go outside is for an hours walk per day (anymore and we are breaking the law), or to go grocery shopping, which we can't do together because, again, we would be breaking the law.

You know I was just mocking you guys?
You take the coffee thermos Dan shoves up your bleeding ass and just say, thanks, Dan, all is good, push harder!

Victoria and their pushovers. Lets give this state back to NewZeeland where they can molest sheep safely and without fear of police intervention.

No way I am going to let these people come to QLD and sexualy violate my farm animals.

Good job Dan: Fuck you Dan.

YES! My dream is coming true.
Andrew today hinted that lockdown over christmas could happen !

"Speaking at Saturday’s press conference, Mr Andrews said his aim is to drive numbers down so people will be able to spend Christmas dinner with their families. But he warned if the cases didn’t drop then many would be planning funerals instead."

It is on the table folks!

2024 is pretty optimistic to get international travel running again. But you never know.

See the silver lining. Whatever happens, with no business class and social distancing removing half the seats in every plane,
international airfares will go up by at least a factor of 3.

So, 1500$ to go to bali, cheapest ticket ever to US west coast minimum 3k$, Europe minimum 4k$.
It will be fucking awesome. Never again having to sit next to some fucking bogan family from sydney west on your long flights because they can not afford the airfare because higher ticket prices and because unemployment. HIGH-FIVE!

It is a win win situation and so beautiful. Thankyou covid. Never do I have to sit next to some fucking bogan family again on the flight to the US.

Confirmed! That is melbourne for you. A modern western world city that is aping east germany under Honnecker.

But she should not complain, food shortages and rationing is a small price to pay.

Next step is likely going to be forced labor camps. then they have the full east germany treatment that they so much desire when they voted that communist into office.

Just try to wrap your head around this. A city in a modern western world and they have food shortages and food rationing and the communist population there actually applaud it!?!?

I pray that the border to Victoria remains closed forever. Not until covid is done and over with but actually forever. As in until the end of time. Never to reopen.

Yeah, i just backed up and read the prior page.

What the ever living fuck.

I am becoming more and more convinced we are getting fucking played. Not that the virus isn't real, it is something, but it isn't this. This is something far beyond that.

If i had a tinfoil hat, i would put it on and point out that the US and Australia, which both seem to have some politicians possibly partial to a certain government style going full authoritarian right now, happen to share a common enemy we are clearly in a cold war with.

I would then point out this virus came from there. And then i would point out the original horror stories [welding, people dying in the streets] which are not in line with what we are now seeing came first from there, and then Iran.

What the fuck do you even do when your country starts asking 'papers, please'. This is insanity.

Most people are dealing with the restrictions OK here, but some like the lady you quoted can't handle it and think that somehow having to comply with these temporary restrictions is communism.
Food shortages
Food rationing
Curfew
Need internal travel documents to get to/from work
Police checkpoints
Military checkpoints
...

Sure does sound similar to 1970s/80s east germany to me.
It this is not similar to a communist dystopia, pray tell what other modern western country/city has had these kind of
draconian communist population control terms in place?

Anyone even suggesting this shit would have been in place just 6 months ago in australia would have been laughed at.
"This is not fucking totalitarian china mate".
And here we are.

Forced labor camps next for dissidents and rule breakers?

It's not like these restrictions came about as a result of Victoria becoming Communist, it's to combat the virus you might have heard about on telly. Vic was just about completely open again until things got out of control.

If Vic get on top of the virus and they refuse to liftthe restrictions, then I would be concerned. Until then it's hysterical to compare COVID lockdown measures in Vic to living in a Communist state.

Needing papers to travel beyond your own city is beyond the pale. No one should comply with that.

Why not? They’re trying to minimise unnecessary travel to control the spread.
Can you please enumerate under what conditions you think having
police and military checkpoints are valid and ok, for checking peoples
]travel documents when they go to and from work.

Is Covid 19 the ONLY situation where soviet style checkpoints are "a good thing"
or are there other situations too?
Like if a dissident / criminal is on the run? Checkpoints at every intersections would surely
catch that criminal quicker ?

Please enumerate all situations where this is valid and something you agree with?

It's not that bad. I got chicken breasts, sausages and bacon from Woolies yesterday.
One of my neighbors have a few hundred cattle so no matter what happens I'll be able to eat meat anytime I want to.
Maybe if the abbatoirs and distributions networks break down I will get to buy meat even cheaper as he will struggle to sell it.

Win-win I would say. Bring it on. Covid so far is just getting better and better as far as Im concerned.

We don't have food and meat shortages. We have people panic buying everything they can. They were going to cut down to 75% production on meat but ditched that after the pushback.

I have not found a single police check point in my 15km drive (each way) to and from work. If they are around I'd guess they are only in the hotspots. You also don't need to produce papers, just your license. Unless you are working and are outside the curfew hours.

Army and police are not going to door to door to check on anyone except people who have been tested positive to make sure they are staying home because a huge percentage haven't been and have kept it spreading.

Non-essential businesses have been closed to the public but can still do online and phone orders with home delivery and click and collect.

This has nothing to do with communism nor is this how communism works. What she is describing (inaccurately and with huge exaggeration) is a state socialist dictatorship.

The denial is awesome. This is why I never want the border to open for Victorians again.
They can live and celebrate their authoritarian dystopia as long as they want. As long as they never are allowed to visit my state again.

Communist boy, you DO have food and meat shortages. We can all see it.
It is kind of obvious there is food shortages when the supermarket shelves are empty.

Fuck off communist. And yeah, you DO have food and meat shortages. We can all see it.
We have the same quantity of food and meat we've had for a long time. As always it's panic buying. If they did go ahead with the three quarter production plan it wouldn't have set in until next week anyway, since they'd still be distributing their full production from this week.

I'm sorry that the actual facts don't fit your narrative.

The people getting door knocks are the one's that are meant be in self quarantine. The police/army are not knocking on random doors.

The fine for not wearing a face covering, without lawful excuse, while mandated in Victoria is $200.

The fine for breaching Stay at Home orders is $1652 on the spot, which can be extended through the Magistrates' Court for repeat offenders to a maximum of $10,000.

The fine for breaching isolation orders for a second or subsequent time after testing positive for coronavirus is $4957 on the spot, which can be extended through the Magistrates' Court for repeat offenders to a maximum of $20,000.

You can report non-urgent crime and events, as well as breaches of the Chief Health Officer’s directives, by calling the Police Assistance Line on 131 444 or submitting an online report at police.vic.gov.au/palolr.

I call bullshit on the lack of door knocking. Classic case of "not in my experience, so it must never happen anywhere".
Fuck off with your ignorance.

I also call bullshit that our situation is ok and for the best of us. And "normal".
In the same sentence as "curfews".
Read what you're writing, you fuckin numb skulls.

CURFEWS

I live within a 5 minute walk of 10 takeaway joints a couple suburbs north of the CBD. Can't go to any of them after 8pm though.
Fuckwit delivery drivers can crowd the joints, though.

Go fucķ yourself, Andrews!
Get fucked, China!

Fuck you, "peaceful protestors"!

So it begins.

Just got my daily dose of exercise done earlier, and like most days for the last year or so I went and played some basketball at some local outdoor courts. Givin I'm pretty clearly exercising, I didn't wear a mask, but carry one with me.

Anyway, got accosted by a group of four 50-60 year old rough as guts types, telling me to put one on while I was playing. I calmly explained (while quite sweaty) its not practical as I'm exercising and showed them the one I had in my pocket. They kept barking about public safety and how children come to this park and other drivel. I asked them how many children they see around now (hint: there were less then 1), and how many exactly have died from the virus anyway. I also asked why they're trying to police me, and they should probably let the police do that.

They then said they were going to call the police down, I told them I know my rights, then I ignored them. They kept barking stuff, and when I didn't respond, they actually sat down at one of the benches in the park and watched me for like 15 mins occasionally calling out shit to get me to respond. Proceeded to throw up my best selection of trick shots for them, and didn't even look in their direction. Was weird shit though. No police ever showed either

So, my first real run in with proper mask vigilantes. Which is way less cool then masked vigilantes. But this is what it's come to I guess

These people are a nuisance, but don't provoke them. There is always a chance they will call the cops and it is quite possible you might get a fine. I know this shit is stupid, just walk away next time. It's not worth it.

That is 18 more months of not being able to meet up with your interstate relatives.

The reality is the virus would quickly overwhelm our medical community, assets and facilities if left unabated (I know this because I have family in hospitals/nursing, emergency services, rescue etc). Note that is a best case scenario, there are way worse scenarios for Covid you don't want to be part of. What opposing parties miss about restrictions is this isn't a governmental or societal based choice, it's a necessity around the globe. Right now we have very little to fight back against Covid, that may/hopefully change in our short term future. The other point is unfortunately masses of people are fucking idiots and panic buy as well as generally become self-centered twats in times of need hence the restrictions being enforced. Governments have to manage the majority of society on the lowest common denominator; the selfish uneducated narcissists, the elderly, the handicap, the financially impacted etc.

Anything else is just noise and speed bumps in the road to recovery. As someone living in Melbourne during these restrictions it's really a matter of do the right thing in the short term to retain our way of life long term. It's not rocket science.

Irrespective of the source of outbreak or perceived benefits to some you cannot honestly believe the world shutting down travel, economies and generally fighting back with our current toolset of "stay safe and don't spread" is a communist action. Finally world governments looking out for their people first, why? Necessity. Govts aren't going to shut down economies and drive into debt by choice, that's crazy talk in the age of capitalism.

Bullshit.
It is a communist action, backed by overreacting karens.

The only other places ever that have had these draconian communist "you need travel documents to go to/from work" has been
totalitarian communist states. States that Dan probably loves and wants to emulate.

This shit does not happen in the free west. Not now, not in the past.
Victoria has the harshest restrictions on freedoms in the whole world right now.
And retards try to defend it with "is different from when east germany did this".

Build a wall and keep the retard victorians out of the rest of australia forever. Let them live their commie paradise in isolation.

You should build labor and reeducation camps for the dissidents.

BUILD THE WALL

EDIT: After we imposed border restrictions from Victorians here in QLD, we have seen a huge drop in property crimes across the whole state. Keeping victorians locked into their own state has huge support here.
Lets pray these fuckers are banned from entering the state forever.

BUILD THE WALL

The only people that really that are at risk are very old or very sick.
How hard can it be to bump up isolation for all old folks homes and avoid them from being infected?

And then let everyone else get on with their lives without needing internal travel passports in order to get to / from work
like east germany.
