More footage to come of different builds

So this one is a huge one. I didnt buy it. Zenimax/Bethesda, don't kill me for sharing footage. Huge shout out to Morderax and the benefactor at Tamriel Foundry

Unseen64 tells the story of what was better than I can in text: https://www.unseen64.net/2009/09/12/the-elder-scrolls-travels-oblivion-psp-cancelled/

This is perhaps one of the biggest unreleased games for the PSP. The Elder Scrolls Travels: Oblivion. I know I was waiting for it to come out, then it never did. We never got footage. The rumor went that the budget just wasnt there, and with the PSP not exactly doing great in the US, the project was killed.

The short end of it is that the world wasn't open world. It used a HUB world, which is one of the areas that you can see in the screenshots. But the idea was that you would be able to travel to different areas from Tamriel that were also seeing Oblivion gates pop up, even Daggerfall was rumored.

You would have figured that it was awful. But it wasnt. It was really good. It looked good. And sure, it was early, but Ive played many worse cancelled games, and few that were better. I think the videos speak for themselves, but here are some screenshots too.

Most of the footage is running on a real PSP Go. The first video has some emulator footage as well, but it crashes the windows version of PPSSPP for me, although I didnt fiddle with it much.

Considering how it ran on the PS3 I don't even want to begin to think how this would have turned out.

Wow, I never expected to actually see this! Always wanted to have it for PSP and was disappointed that it was never released. Pretty cool to see it after all these years.

This looks shockingly competent for a system that could barely run PS2-level games. Thanks for sharing!

Oh wow, I assumed that they never actually made the game at all; the only piece of info relating to the game I ever saw was a screenshot of Knights of the Nine photoshopped onto a PSP screen...

What could have been. I loved Oblivion, and also the PSP.

Honestly for a 10 year old PSP game that seems to look and run pretty damn well! Such a shame it never got released, could have been the definitive console version, given the quality of the others!

People should stop referencing data that makes me feel uncomfortable because games get ported to platforms I don't like
Oh I remember this canceled title and it's why I wished Bethesda would revive the project after I saw the Unreal Engine 3 demo running on the "NGP" back in 2011 but alas that nevered happen.

Oblivion ran great on the PS3 it ran better than it did on the 360 actually :p higher resolution and more consistant framerate. and this wasnt full fledged oblivion :p

Fun fact: one of the enviroment artist from this game went to Naughty Dog after the cancellation. He worked in some of the best backgrounds of Uncharted, U2, TLOU and U4.

That FOV cracks me up. It's like he doesn't have a neck. Combat looks even worse than it was in Oblivion.

But who am I kidding, I would've eaten it up whole back in the day.

Without being funny, we never got anything looking that good on the Vita either :( Killzone looked great as did Wipeout, but a big open world at native res I think was out of the question with the hardware.
