It would make a great post-credits sequence.Verboten said:Shortly after Begins was released, it was revealed that Joker would be the main villain in the sequel, and that in it, Batman takes the Joker down. Disctrict Attourney Harvey Dent prosecutes him and during the trial, Joker throws acid into his face. That supposedly happens at the end of the movie. Don't know if that's the truth.

Is Randolph code for Batman? Seems so, in which case he's possibly removed from action for a time, or at least that's the perception of the public. Rumors of his death?
Gannon's gotta be Bruce, or maybe Harvey Dent. I'd assume the prosecutor is [also?] Dent.
The scene with Bats and the wannabe remind me of the opening to The Incredibles. The vigilante almost sounds like a setup for Robin, but Nolan was pretty strongly against using him.
I wonder if we'll see Scarecrow aiding this chaos. Cillian Murphy's been saying he can't comment on whether he'll be returning for this one.
There are probably wanna-be Batmen/vigilanties in the movie. That one scene where a fake Batman gets questioned by who I think is the Joker is probably that guy. No Robin, no sidekicks.
Zenith said:no, they stated ages ago that Batman was going to find a protoge who would replace him and then they would have him main role next to an aged Bruce in the next movie (basically following the cartoon "Batman of the Future's" premise).

Dan said:Obviously he wouldn't be referring to a literal job, but it's clear from several of those pages that a lot of the city is really behind Batman. He's the talk of the town, the Bat signal is in full effect, there are wannabes roaming the night, etc. Seems like the kind of thing where rumors would be swirling if Bats went missing or appeared injured at some point and the mayor would reassure the public that he's not truly gone, even if maybe he has absolutely no idea. Plus, the other script page has a character named Randolph rescuing police and demanding info on what happened and who did it. Those tiny dialogue bits would perfectly fit Batman's speaking style. And I can't see too many rumors going around about Dent, unless it's after he takes a turn towards Two-Face...
I know there's no Robin, I'm just saying, if this wasn't Nolan and I read those scenes, I'd wonder if they were introducing a sidekick. Some punk young adult tries his hand at the vigilante game, eventually needs rescuing by Batman, etc. I could easily see other filmmakers go that route.
I live in the (ironically named) gotham lofts in chicago, which just happen to be a block from where the dark knight is going to be filming. they've posted signs on all the light poles about upcoming parking restrictions. my balcony overlooks the street where they'll be shooting, but i am not sure if they are coming all the way west to where i am at.
also, got to peek inside the old chicago post office thursday afternoon. they have the lobby made up to be the "gotham national bank."
They're also running something to the roof on ziplines from the building next door. They have a school bus in the loading dock, and are generally doing a good job at not having any visible filming equipment. Work started 2-3 days ago.

Although they later updated their initial report to emphasize that this is not the final design, Batman-on-Film.com has been informed by a scooper that Ledger's Joker "will have gray skin with lots of scarring."
Furthermore, Joker will reportedly wear "raggedy" garb, which jives with earlier rumors that his outfit will be more like something he's thrown together than a costume per se.
Director Christopher Nolan is said to be going for a "scary" Joker rather than a clownish one, which would be in line with the realistic approach he took with villains Ra's Al Ghul and The Scarecrow in Batman Begins.
