Hmm reading the hate about yourself on NeoGaf is a tad depressing. Oh well - the game is going to be awesome
You guys are asses
Embarrassing for those who took part imo. Makes the rest of us look bad or worse lol.
It doesn't make any sense.
Mark Richard Davies was a former Lead Designer of Ninja Theory (Enslaved).
Now he is "a" Designer at Naughty Dog.
Naughty Dog (THE LAST OF US team) has its own Lead Designer.
The whole "Enslaved" and "Ninja Theory" stuff isn't even worth mentioning here.
Well now that just makes it worse. Smh.
That said, as everyone has already noted, he could have some talent
And the hits keep rolling...
Some people are just born with a passion to piss on others it seems. Yes, people do lash out at workers and bitch about them behind their backs etc, but none of those things are right. None of those things are commendable attributes. Not right when it happens to you nor when it happens to others. Pisses me off when customers have a problem with something and rage at some worker who is but a single part of a much bigger machine.
What we have here is one guy singled out for insults, unfair criticisms or hate simply because you didn't enjoy a game he worked on, along with 50+ other people. A game that was largely critically accepted as 'good', and by a large portion of the public too (if GAF is anything to go by). Not saying that criticism's and negativity aren't fair game, they most certainly are. But there's a line when it comes to actual human beings, dependant on the context of course. It's a free country, you're free to do or say as you please, you don't have to have even bought the product to for that, however, exercising that right in order to maim others does not mean others cannot in response criticise your own opinion and ultimately, does not make your actions right. In-fact, I'd say as Mark Davis put it, it just makes you an ass.
Also find it fitting that a lead designer working on Damnation (a very poorly received game critically speaking) went on to make one of the best levels in U2 (the train level). Sort of highlights the idiocy of some of the singled out hate.
Anyway, can't wait to hear more about the game.
