God of War (2018) return to the house and the first fight after

Thats what I came in to say about GOW 2018

TLOU1: ( Many moments )`

. When you spend time with Henry and his brother and it all ends with a gunshot. Then you hear the music
. Also the whole Ellie and David section with the finish to it

Shadow of Colossus:
End of the game and realising what you have done, and being sucked in… Still upset about my horse too

MGS
Many moments.
Loving the controls and gameplay and then when you first fight against Raven in the Tank and the cool cutscene made me go woooh this is so perfect and cool

This has to be one of the coolest moments I've ever experienced in a videogame.
Mostly because I found it just exploring.

I love that the game never wrests control from you and you have to go at it with what you may or may not have.
It's probably the thing I always remember every time I think of Breath of the Wild.

Don’t wanna be a douche but how you could have ascertained that game is great when you are right at the very beginning? Question is going from great to legendary.

Witcher 3, night before great battle.
MGS2, final fight atop of Federal Hall and that ending FMV. Special.
RDR2, epilogues with Arthur and John respectively
And let’s put one oldie, GTA: San Andreas when you’re driving through desert and K-Rose radio kicks in.
Nier Automata endings are just…beyond everything I’ve seen in gaming so far. Masterpiece.

When you first play Super Mario Bros and head into world 1-2. You were given the basics to explore in the opening world 1-1 and then that music kicked in and you were on your way in a cool adventure down a green pipe. Then you self discovered breaking bricks for shortcuts, leading into warp pipes or shortcuts around enemies and that sense of fun and wonder kicked in over a solid platformer.

God of War on PS2. The Challenge of Poseidon. Anyone who played it knows the moment.
Demon soul's PS3
the dragon god of 2-3.
Really? I thought he was so lame. I had this huge sense of dread
walking down the staircase, hearing those roars, literally standing near the entrance for a solid minute as he punched the columns wondering "How the hell am I going to beat this thing?" all for it to end up being running from ballista to ballista and then smacking him in the face a dozen times. I was really let down.

I played this game for the first time in 2018 after breath of the wild, to me this moment was legendary so I guess 20 years ago this was life changing.

Halo: combat evolved, when the banshee (that's the name of the flying things right?) Attacks you after you've crossed the bridge from your crash site in the second mission. Its sound, its movement, its distance, the fact you could attack and destroy it, the fact that it didn't necessarily see you unless you attacked it.. it multiplied the possibilities and dimensions of that game hugely.

Age of Empires 2, joan of arc campaign opening mission when you watched a battle take place after being warned to hang back by your escorting Knights. Quantum leap over the first game.

Morrowind, leaving your ship and seeing seyda neen

Legend of Zelda: the wind waker, when you climb down the watchtower link starts on in the first scene. The smooth animation, the perspective warping, the height and the fact that you gripped every handle on your way down.. instantly boosted the credibility of the whole visual experience.

Fifa online be a pro, when you were able to dribble around real other players.

Deus Ex. Liberty Island, first play through. Struggling with the questionable shooting mechanics as I try and kill all the bad guys. It's a shooter, right? Gotta kill them all. Why is shooting so bad? Beating and stabbing some since ammo was a little hard to come by. Make sure I kill every one, just like every other shooter. Double check to make absolutely certain I killed every bad guy like a good player should. Finally get to the top, interrogate the leader who drops a couple of truth bombs on me, and collect my reward. Ready to call the game over-hyped and poorly made as I walked to UNATCO HQ. Paul is there - and he was not happy with my choice to eradicate all living things on the island. The penny drops: Deus Ex isn't your typical game. It watches what you do and reacts to your choices. Killing, not killing, doing, not doing. When I explored the ladies room, because its a video game and you explore every room in them, and my superior talked me down for creeping around in the ladies wash room during a briefing... Legendary status confirmed. And then you get to Hells Kitchen and you realise it only gets better from here.

the one halfway in... to be exact - the moment the fight was over, I went to the menu and saw it's not a gimmick and has a skill tree. I played the game 100% unspoiled and it just blew my mind.
I played it unspoiled too. The game is good but I didn't like the story. I mean, since the beginning you have one objective and there aren't any twist to it. It's like one big mission.

I remember a time in STALKER (Anomaly) that cemented it as one of my all time greats.

Entered the Garbage at night in a storm when the siren for an emission blared. Booked it to the train hanger for cover, barely making it to discover it occupied by bandits who were also seeking refuge. Low on ammo and health, I fought my way into a train car and held off enemies closing in from both sides (and up on the scaffolding) as the building got rocked by the emission. Low on ammo, health, nearly impossible to aim from the ferocity of the storm, flashes of lightning and the roar of thunder, I survived just barely, taking out the final bandit being down to my last few clips of my pistol, one sliver of health away from death.

One of my most memorable gaming experiences ever. Yeah it was a modded game, but still. No game has ever given me such amazingly tense, dynamic, emergent scenarios like STALKER has.

Game is legendary.

There are so many I'm sure I'm missing.

FFVII - escaping Midgar and seeing the amazing open world for the first time.

Zelda: OoT - getting the master sword and jumping to the future.

Witcher 3 - the Red Baron quest...and getting the Skelligae for the first time and hearing that music.

Dark Souls - Anor Londo.

Final Fantasy Tactics - end of chapter 1...right after that tough battle in the snow map. Crazy series of events.

Chrono Trigger - going to Zeal for the first time.

Halo 3 - "one final effort". Halo fans know what I'm talking about.

Destiny - after being disappointed thinking this is just a campaign and PvP, then playing and overcoming the Vault of Glass raid. Holy shit...now I saw the potential of this game.

Metroid Prime - phendrana drifts...the amazing atmosphere and music.

Red Dead Redemption 2 - mansion scene. "If you're not gonna be civilized about this". Man what an amazing moment.

GTA5 - pulling off that first jewelery heist with the crew and the way you escape.

God of War - entering another realm for the first time(Alfheim) and the blades of course.

Last of Us - giraffes scene and just recollecting how far these.two characters have come.

Mario 64 - as soon as I played the first level and was amazed at Mario in 3D.

Super Mario RPG - lost woods and getting Geno.

CoD: MW - ghille suit mission.

Sekiro - beating genichiro

Earthbound - the very beginning where you check the mysterious asteroid. You see the amazing fun, charming, unique world you're about to discover.

I totally agree on God of War !
For Demon soul's
I killed it the first time (first few times maybe )and I loved the fact that no way my puny sword would do anything to him. So magic ballista was the answer and as a magician I used my magic to destroy the pillars to go to the ballistas and I put 1 hour to do it, waiting with the ring to recharge my mana. Of course I did not see the last pillar so I had to destroy it with my sword and run to the last ballista. Very good moment for me.
One of the thing that i do not see often in other games is that the boss in some of from software games get weaker closer to their end, like Sif in Dark souls. So seeing that Dragon who was seemingly invulnerable panting and waiting his demise on my hands, with all the feeling of power and success mixed with the pity I had for him was magical.

So many... but what jumps to mind for me is the Elder Scrolls: Oblivion. From starting in rags to that moment when you finally deck yourself in Plate armour and ride out like one of the knights from Excalibur...

Dude, I first played this, I had a pretty awesome PC for its time. When you exited the Sewers and the world just opened up my jaw dropped. Never had experienced such a time in gaming.

Probably going to sound cliche, but the first time I played Metroid Prime as a kid I was having a good time on the opening ship section.
Then I landed down on the planet and as Samus exited her ship the combination of the music, environment, and the rain hitting the visor blew my mind. I could tell I was in for a cool experience.

Fair enough, I think if you were a die hard Fallout fan, by that point you knew that the game did a pretty good job of recreating that Fallout feeling but in a FPS setting, which, may not seem like it now, but at the time, many people didn't think it could be done well.

And that moment is a Legendary moment of the game. The imagination runs wild the first time you exit the vault and see it all laid out in front of you.

TLOU

When Tess dies. That's when I went from playing the game sporadically and not seeing the hype - to finishing it in a couple of days and becoming one of my absolute favorites.

Days Gone

When Skizzo betrays you and you suddenly wake up at the mercy of the Rippers.

Cyberpunk

From the moment you take the final mission with Jackie, to dying and being resurrected. That was intense and amazing.

Resident Evil

Dogs crashing through the window.

Silent Hill

The first Eclipse.

Is this Trackmania or Hotwheel ?
Looks amazing. what is this
Hotwheels expansion for FH3
That HotWheels expansions for FH3 is the most fun I've had in a racing game in a long time. It's like playing an adult version of the same thing from when I was a kid. Very cool. I think it was the last time I put any significant time into a racing game too, now that I think about it.

Towards the end of Outlast when you are going down the elevator and you realise they are about to riff on

Cabin in the Woods, you come out in the scientific labs and it was such a WTF moment.

This still gives me goosebumps. It turns an already epic game to a legendary one.

I remember when that happened it was such a poignant moment and it gave me goosebumps. I just so happened to be at a buddies house right when that scene was happening on his playthrough and not even 30 seconds into the song he got off his horse to collect a flower or some shit and the song stopped playing and it never restarted when he got back on the horse to continue onto John's house. I was so annoyed that he didn't experience it the way it was intended.

Just sat there drinking my beer like:

I loved that little twist. Kind of gives bigger meaning to the overall world of the game.

Nes Ninja Gaiden - The clash of swords at the opening
PSx MGS - When you get startled for the first time when you're spotted and the controller rumbles and the fight with Psycho Mantis
N64 Zelda OoT - Entering Hyrule field for the first time and find that it was Ganondorf playing the music at the last dungeon
PS3 MGS4 - All of the chapter 4, although this game is amazing from the start, this chapter makes it on another level.

I remember MGS was specifically the reason I wanted a DualShock controller. Me, being the stealth expert I am, was never caught on the way to the elevator and the cutscene at the top where Liquid takes off in the Hind was when I noticed the rumble and was so excited. SO IMMERSIVE.

Playing the nu-Hitman games and spending nearly 10 hours total doing everything in the second tutorial mission thinking, "Wow there is so much to do in this level and so much unique dialogue/content, I hope all the levels give this much replayability"

Then starting the first proper level, Paris, seeing 47 walk the red carpet in the intro and stop next to the fountain, I opened the map to see that its about 15x the size of the tutorial mission and knew I was going to be blown away by the game.

I wasn't ready for the level of scripting/interaction they put in the game, there is a woman recording a news segment with her cameraman and I decided to be a knob and walk in between her and the cameraman thinking nothing would happen but to my surprise they acknowledge you doing it and produce custom dialogue and stop filming, but you can even wait until they start again a 10 seconds later and they have even more dialogues and they just give up on filming and call you a coke head.

It was completely brilliant and I couldn't stop laughing. I think I spent nearly 50 hours just on Paris before I moved onto the 2nd (of 6 levels!), basically, stop reading this and buy the game right fucking now cause its ace beans.
