Apart from the early wicket India were looking good in the first session. It's all gone a little pear-shaped now.

India do seem to have a better balance this test, picked a 6th batsman.

I think 380 is par for this pitch.

I hope the Australian selection philosophy of not unsettling a winning combo doesn't bite them on the ass. Starc is the real number 6 in this line-up which speaks volumes.

Andrew Symonds had an extended run in the Test team before he came good and ended up with a respectable Test average.

SWarsh, on the other hand, is the cricketing equivalent of the Walking Dead.

I'm so happy for Lyon. After everyone was criticizing him prior to this series, he came back with a vengeance.

Also happy for this young Australian team in general.

Would love to get a lead of 100+. Batting last on this pitch will be a struggle. Especially since we only have 5 specialist batsmen.

An 100 run lead all but guarantees victory. There's no way the Indian batsmen have the mental fortitude to grind it out like Renshaw and Marsh did on this pitch. This pitch is worse than the one in Pune and is rapidly deteriorating.

I've said it before and I'll say it again the "Keep a winning combination" selection strategy is fundamentally flawed. Wade and MWarsh should not be in the team, irrespective of whether Australia wins, losses or draws.

Shaping up for a cracking day of cricket between India and Australia.

Right now, it's anyone's match but I have a bad feeling Australia will collapse under the pressure of an uncomfortable chase. Fingers crossed I'm wrong.

And that should be the end of Shaun Marsh in the Australian test team.

Given the weakness in the Australian middle order that may have cost them the test.
