That's pretty much my only complaint with the game. What is it with Platinum and bad/slow moving cameras?

Technically, Bayonetta's DEFAULT cam is slow. If you actually put it half way, it's totally fine. :lol

I had a couple of complaints about the game.

- lock-on system could have been better
- waggle (when you had to shake both the Wii remote and nunchuck)
- gameplay length is too short
- tacked-on multiplayer
- extra hard mode was too frusterating
- looping soundtrack/commentary
- wished there was more pick-up weapons to use
- repetitive gameplay
- annoying music track played in the Elise boss level

Fortunately, the stylish graphics, catchy music, good gameplay and tight controls helped make up for it. I loved Jack's finisher moves like when he uses the daggers like scissors to rip enemies in half.

I loved China town and the ninja village levels, but the game kinda went downhill from there for me. The levels after that are not super awesome, and the repetition really hits home about 3/4 through.

I didn't end up finishing the game. :(

I hit a wall with the first castle level because I found death to be really fucking annoying. Once I got through that I sped through the rest of the zombie levels. I'm headed to the military area now.. and still really enjoying the game.

I'm really liking this game and it's level structure for the most part. There are really 3-4 different killing apparatuses and just a bunch of variants on those, butt he insane violence is a ton of fun... and most of the boss fights are pretty well done.

I don't see this game having much (if any) replay value.. but it's a fun ride.

This sooo needs a sequel!
It does. I feel that a lot of the flaws could be fixed up with a sequel, that adds competent brawler gameplay as a foundation so it doesn't have to rely on the points-scoring "gimmick".

I don't really think the game needs a sequel.

It is a pretty straightforward game that does what it does well. It's a hack n slash with waggle QTE elements.

It's about the perfect length given it's severe lack of depth.

I'm at the casino level, which I gather is the last "level" followed by a boss fight.

It's been a fun ride.. but if it was much longer than it is I can tell you I would have gotten bored to death.

I think it is a competent brawler. It isn't trying to be God of War.. it's a throwback to early 90s games and does a great job of it.. right down to the score you get actually meaning something.

From the over the top violence, sophomoric sex jokes, score tally and fun but simple gameplay it just feels like an old SNES of Genny game in 3d.

If they tried to turn this into DMC/GoW/etc I think it would really miss the point of what the game is trying to be. This is more nightmare creatures meets smash TV than anything else.

Beat the game.. had a lot of fun with it.

Really short.. I was at 2.5 hours on my play file when I beat it. Probably about right. I only had to redo a stage one time (the robot fight). Well, I had to redo the sumo fight but that's because the game glitched out when I was about to win :lol I did also turn off the first castle fight because death pissed me off with some cheap bullshit until I figured out the counter on the 3rd attempt.

I have to commend this game for good pacing. If it lasted any longer I probably would have gotten really fucking bored. It hit the perfect length without overstaying its welcome.

Wish they would have come up with new mini games for the last few stages instead of reusing some of the older ones.

Boss fights were mostly fun but a bit on the easy side. Like I said, I only had to redo a stage one time.. Most boss fights ended with me with all of my lives and a full health bar and the boss destroyed in about 2 minutes. But I really didn't mind.. like I said, this reminds me of an old 16bit beat em up.. right down to the boss fights that you can cheese your way through :lol

I'll give it a solid 8/10.. graphics were phenomenal and looked great on my kuro. Humor was mostly good, violence was fun and way over the top. Gameplay was fun if a bit simple and repetitive, but like I said they did a good job cutting the game off at the perfect point in time before boredom set in.

A lot of games should learn from this one. Sometimes your game only has enough ideas for a 3 hour game. Shoving it full of boring filler to pump your playtime up isn't the answer.

Holy shit this game is ridiculous! The commentary alone is worth just listening to, I also dig the soundtrack reminds me of Jet Grind Radio a lot.

<--feels ashamed at just NOW playing this for the first time.

Don't feel bad, I got the game 3 months ago and it's still in the wrapping.

Do yourself a favor and open it. That said... playing it may also help. ;)

Square - at least you picked it up! It's not super long, but every second of the ride is well worth it, in my opinion.
