The Satellaview games you never got to see.

First of all, these videos need an account on Nico Video - so if you don't have one yet simply follow sp0rsk's guide.

Here are some videos of some of the episode based Satelliaview games that people got to play on the Super Famicom in japan. The games were accompanied by arranged music and live voice acting for everything in the game and was broadcasted over the Satellite network as you play. Each game have a set time to complete the tasks for each week, and then it would stop regardless of whether you were done or not.

First up is BS Zelda no Densetsu.

There might be more available on Nico Video, but this is what I've found so far. Anyway, this is probably the closest anyone of us will ever be to playing the Satellaview games, unless Nintendo decide to bring back this concept. I very much enjoyed watching these videos.

[fanboy sarcasmVirtual Console will be a failure in my eyes if they don't find a way to do the BS titles over here.[/fanboy sarcasm]

Actually, it would suck more if these somehow were modified and released only in Japan, and not elsewhere...

I was also wrong awhile ago. I said Tetra's Trackers was the first Zelda game with full-fledged voice acting, but BS Zeruda no Densetsu: Kodai no Sekiban was...

Well done x3!

:D
I aim to please :)

But really, all I did was to copy a few links.. it's the people on Nico Video who are uploading these kind of things who really deserves the credit.

I couldn't find them on Nico Video, sorry.

What what. What is this. Those links contain nothing but moon language.
Did you really fail to read the first sentence in my post?

The Zelda 1 remake is so awesome, what the rom hacker guys were able to do with it was really impressive also.

I'd love a proper all pieced together full version released on WiiWare. Who knows? After we got Master Quest anything can happen.

Make it so Nintendo!

Edit: Oh yeah do something with Radical Dreamers also! And that Mario Excitebike! Heh make a BS pack or something.

Ahh the first episodic games (And still the ones most true to their name!)

I`d love to see these games hit the VC, there`s no technical reason why it can`t be done! (It could use streaming audio to replicate the experience! The only difference would be that you could play it whenever you wanted rather than at set times!)

And when the audio stream finally gets taken down, offer the game as a stand alone with all the episodes pieced together with an MP3 audio track in place of the streaming audio!
