whatever, i'll be enjoying both games.

sad to see so many "foot soldiers" in these forums....i hope you're on Konami's/Microsoft's/Sony's payroll because you kids are working HARDER than their sales team. Heck, they might as well FIRE em all and divert their salaries to game development.

As a note to the poster who started the thread....kinda obvious that you've managed to expose (once again) how polarized this forum is.

I'll play both games as well. The 360 should be able to fill the gap nicely until the PS3 comes out. Kameo, and now I'm certain PDZ, will make a launch day purchase worthwhile. Add GRAW and GoW later on, and then the Mistwalker RPG's. After that, it will probably be all PS3 for me, being the Sony fan I am :D

Off Topic, but when does TGS end? I could've sworn we were supposed to be treated to much more PS3 game footage than was shown... Wasn't Capcom supposed to show off a new fighting game or was that just an announcement that it was being made?

GOW's animation is god damn aweful at times. The cut scene where the soldiers walked into the building you can actually see the guy's legs *pop* every time he takes a step.

The Xbox has been mocked and its fans treated like garbage since long before the PS3 was even shown to the public.

With regard to

-Sales
-Western developers
-Graphics (even though the Xbox is more powerful than the PS2)

To the winners goes the spoils.

Damn, never noticed it before, but look in the upper right corner? That is one nasty texture. >_<

Wha?? That thing is ugly! anyway that's like one of the first screens released for this game, so hopefully that's been taken care of *prays*

Ok, now maybe it's a better size.
note to self: Imagevenue.com is crap.

New strategy: every time a 360 game gets raped by MGS4 change the topic to poking fun of the revolution. 360 saved! :lol

If that's how you feel now...enjoy the next 1-2 yrs 'round this place.

After X05 I predict there's going to be many, many threads comparing PS3 games like MGS4 to a few certain Xbox360 games. Should be fun, actually.

Off topic here but.....does anybody actually think I-8 looked poor?

I though the video from e3 looked great. It was the animation of 30 soldiers running through an exploding battlefield that showed 'cell' must be an processing powerhouse. And at the time of e3 it was the only actual gameplay video of the PS3 available.

As far as graphics go we are at the point of diminshing returns with the x360 and PS3. There is no difference.

But as far as environments, geometry, animation and papers flying in the wind ala MGS4 goes, the PS3 has a huge edge. Whether this continues on in the future with full development kits becoming available to everyone will be interesting

Your avatar gives away your position and prohibits anyone from taking anything you say seriously in a thread like this.

Yeah, because I have an opinion? Who doesn't here? If I thought nothing was better than everything else and everything was always equal, suddenly I'd be "teh unbiased" and I could be "taken seriously"?

Sorry, but I have a pair :P If I think something is true, If I think x is "better" than y, I'll say it, sorry if I tread on your toes in the process.

so it boils down to 300+ posts of people arguing about an eastern cutscene vs a western cutscene....we all know who wins that competition. Now if blizzard were making a cutscene for GOW it might be close....but thats not the case, now is it?

why not wait for actual in game gameplay video before arguing which is better? You havent even seen a final version of sony hardware yet and here you are arguing about games that are running on hardware you have no clue about. Just because you prefer coke, that doesnt mean pepsi sucks.

As good as MGS4 is graphically, its got an old fogey as the main character.... Its simply not cool and it never will be. Sam fisher isnt cool and this guy looks 20 years older. I am not saying Marcus is cool either, he is king generic.

MGS4 had better animation because it was motion captured. I prefer the MGS theme so far bat GOW looks way better, espically the face detail.

Walls in DOA4 have better textures. This proves that PS3 games are not that impressive and Xbox360 is clearly superior. Case closed.

Actually, as a technical point of contrast between the two models, it's a pretty good one. Snake's hides very little, and reveals far more complexity on the character than on the GoW character. The GoW character could almost be a robot if you blanked out his head (and the other guys in other GoW screenshots who wear helmets certainly don't look unambigously human). That's before you move into motion where the "living/human" expression in the Snake character brings it to a totally different level.

The GoW design does not hide from the traditional driver of character design, "hide the complexity". He just happens to be wearing big bulky armour. He just happens to not have any hair. It just happens to be that he doesn't swallow very much :P (laugh, but that's the detail Kojima is bringing his character too). On the other hand, Kojima evidently doesn't give a rats ass about the expense of complexity with Snake.

I just checked the thread out and said what I thought of the comparison. It just doesn't look the same. And I'm a Nintendo fanboy, so i'm pretty objective :]

You just know I'm right.

The shots/vids demonstrate a couple of things.

1/ Graphically, it seems that there is a level of parity between 360 and PS3.

2/ Given the same piece of technology. Someone like Kojima has the talent and skill to bring his vision to life in breathtaken fashion.

It's not the tools. It's not the hardware. It's the vision of the creater and the skills of the dev team.
I'm sure it would have looked just the same on 360.
