The NYT article specifically states the whistleblower went to the CIA's top lawyer first, and because the WB feared the matter might not be taken seriously, contacted the House Committee, which is how Schiff was aware of the complaint in vague terms.

This is analogous to someone framing one of your family members for a crime everyone in your circle of family, friends and acquaintances knows they did not commit and then saying you don't find anything embarrassing about the authorities holding that family member accountable while knowing that the investigation is tarnishing their reputation and affecting their work.
(Using your example) Except in this case it would be that the family member openly admitted to the crime and has done so on multiple occasions.

Trump has talked openly about this issue. The difference is Republicans don't care and the Democrats do.

To answer my own question, Biden‘s back with a slightly different answer to the Ukraine / Hunter question. Damn, he looks frustrated.

Yeah, this is the guy the DNC wants to put up on a debate stage with President Donald Trump.

Basically at Restera it's #Muellertime2 while on Neogaf it's #GodEmperorTimeX.

I'm just watching. We all know what we're getting, but what's gonna happen is the interesting part.
I don't assign people into two camps the way you described above. Someone can loathe Trump for making a certain policy decision and still support him. Conversely, someone can be in complete agreement over his interpretation of the Dems' attempt to impeach him and still vote Dem.

How many articles did it take them, and redact, to finally get this one in order for their constituents?

What did Trump admit to regarding his Ukraine call that you consider worthy of impeachment?

The mainstream media is sometimes outspoken about it and other times only implies it, that Trump was trying to exert influence on a foreign leader in order to sway the 2020 election. I find that ridiculous because it makes assumptions I'm not comfortable with like Biden being the Dem nominee (he's not even close, even Hillary said "it's still early" on The View this morning) and that running for office puts you above the law. If that's what you're referring to then you're right to say Republicans don't care and the Democrats do, but you need to ask yourself why - those reasons are important.

Schiff has perpetrated a hoax on the country for years regarding Russian collusion, stating he had evidence that he was never able to produce. How do you still trust him after that, especially considering how similarly this story is playing out to others before it that did not end well for Democrats?

Another reminder as to Schiff's spotty credibility:

1950-2015: How dare the CIA interfere with foreign governments and elections!

2019: It's perfectly normal for a CIA agent to somehow 'whistleblow' on the executive branch, with the operation being led by Schiff, who is the chairman of the United States House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.

If this doesn't smell fishy to you, I have no words. There is a reason every one of your bombshells had either been a dud or backfired for the entirety of 2019. The Democrats, legacy media, and alphabets are lying to you. CNN literally hires alphabets like McCabe to tell people orange man bad.

I never thought i'd see the day Dems were on the side of multinational media conglomerates, alphabet agencies, war hawks, and establishment. Wake the fuck up. I know it makes your ears ring, and you feel a little dizzy, but wake the fuck up.

It's been a really bad look watching the left embrace the people who marched us into the Iraq War like David Frum, Robert Mueller, and "Woke Billy Kristol."

Sec State was on Ukraine call.

Why didn't Pompeo simply say the whistleblower was a liar and Trump is totally exonerated?
What would the point of that be when:

1. Transcript was released which supports Trump’s claim of doing nothing wrong.
2. “Whistleblower” report released which is nothing but hearsay.
3. Ukraine president backs transcript and Trump’s claim of no wrongdoing.

Does he need to be exonerated again?

So, since Ukraine also states there was no Collusion, what exactly is the big Crime that will get Trump impeached this time ?

It seems like the Dems are running with "obstruction of justice" again, that is to say, Trump is obstructing the investigation into his own impeachment for a crime he didn't commit...

...even though he released the transcripts quickly and the DOJ looked into the matter quickly.

My greater concern is whether the American people will have to suffer through another 3-year song and dance, but I doubt that.
I’m hoping it costs them the house and Trump wins in 2020. Then they can bitch and we can ignore them.

Less than a year after opening Rosemont Seneca’s doors, Hunter Biden and Devon Archer were in China, having secured access at the highest levels. Thornton Group’s account of the meeting on their Chinese-language website was telling: Chinese executives “extended their warm welcome” to the “Thornton Group, with its US partner Rosemont Seneca chairman Hunter Biden (second son of the now Vice President Joe Biden).”

The purpose of the meetings was to “explore the possibility of commercial cooperation and opportunity.” Curiously, details about the meeting do not appear on their English-language website.

Also, according to the Thornton Group, the three Americans met with the largest and most powerful government fund leaders in China — even though Rosemont was both new and small.
The timing of this meeting was also curious. It occurred just hours before Hunter Biden’s father, the vice president, met with Chinese President Hu in Washington as part of the Nuclear Security Summit.
Enlarge ImageChris Heinz (left) with John Kerry at a campaign fundraiser, April 16, 2004.Dennis Van Tine
There was a second known meeting with many of the same Chinese financial titans in Taiwan in May 2011. For a small firm like Rosemont Seneca with no track record, it was an impressive level of access to China’s largest financial players. And it was just two weeks after Joe Biden had opened up the US-China strategic dialogue with Chinese officials in Washington.

On one of the first days of December 2013, Hunter Biden was jetting across the Pacific Ocean aboard Air Force Two with his father and daughter Finnegan. The vice president was heading to Asia on an extended official trip. Tensions in the region were on the rise.
What was not reported was the deal that Hunter was securing. Rosemont Seneca Partners had been negotiating an exclusive deal with Chinese officials, which they signed approximately 10 days after Hunter visited China with his father. The most powerful financial institution in China, the government’s Bank of China, was setting up a joint venture with Rosemont Seneca.

The Bank of China is an enormously powerful financial institution. But the Bank of China is very different from the Bank of America. The Bank of China is government-owned, which means that its role as a bank blurs into its role as a tool of the government. The Bank of China provides capital for “China’s economic statecraft,” as scholar James Reilly puts it. Bank loans and deals often occur within the context of a government goal.

Rosemont Seneca and the Bank of China created a $1 billion investment fund called Bohai Harvest RST (BHR), a name that reflected who was involved. Bohai (or Bo Hai), the innermost gulf of the Yellow Sea, was a reference to the Chinese stake in the company. The “RS” referred to Rosemont Seneca. The “T” was Thornton.

The fund enjoyed an unusual and special status in China. BHR touted its “unique Sino-US shareholding structure” and “the global resources and network” that allowed it to secure investment “opportunities.” Funds were backed by the Chinese government.

In short, the Chinese government was literally funding a business that it co-owned along with the sons of two of America’s most powerful decision makers.

The partnership between American princelings and the Chinese government was just a beginning. The actual investment deals that this partnership made were even more problematic. Many of them would have serious national security implications for the United States.

In 2015, BHR joined forces with the automotive subsidiary of the Chinese state-owned military aviation contractor Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) to buy American “dual-use” parts manufacturer Henniges.

AVIC is a major military contractor in China. It operates “under the direct control of the State Council” and produces a wide array of fighter and bomber aircraft, transports, and drones — primarily designed to compete with the United States.

The company also has a long history of stealing Western technology and applying it to military systems. The year before BHR joined with AVIC, the Wall Street Journal reported that the aviation company had stolen technologies related to the US F-35 stealth fighter and incorporated them in their own stealth fighter, the J-31. AVIC has also been accused of stealing US drone systems and using them to produce their own.

In September 2015, when AVIC bought 51 percent of American precision-parts manufacturer Henniges, the other 49 percent was purchased by the Biden-and-Kerry-linked BHR.

Henniges is recognized as a world leader in anti-vibration technologies in the automotive industry and for its precise, state-of-the-art manufacturing capabilities. Anti-vibration technologies are considered “dual-use” because they can have a military application, according to both the State Department and Department of Commerce.

The technology is also on the restricted Commerce Control List used by the federal government to limit the exports of certain technologies. For that reason, the Henniges deal would require the approval of the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS), which reviews sensitive business transactions that may have a national security implication.

According to BHR internal documents, the Henniges deal included “arduous and often-times challenging negotiations.” The CFIUS review in 2015 included representatives from numerous government agencies including John Kerry’s State Department.

The deal was approved in 2015.

Just to be clear, we like to create narratives and provide no proof of anything we say, when challenged we either run away, repeat our proof-free claims or layer new proof-free claims and act as if the previous proof-free claims were unquestioned, unchallenged and totally accurate.

Goodness, he was asked a direct question by a reporter.

So if China happens to see this and acts on it, Trump is guilty of "calling on them to investigate Joe Biden" :messenger_tears_of_joy:

The last sentence might not seem like satire if at some point in the last 3 years the Dems, like any of them, had called for investigations into why the DOJ was using opposition research compiled by a British guy who in turn paid a bunch of Russian guys for dirt on a political candidate, and then leaked such important matters of national security to the press such as getting pissed on by prostitutes.

They did it for rumors over a Trump family member meeting with Russians.

But when Trump points out Biden's indiscretions, it's also an example of Trump's criminal activity.

When it seems like there's no winning with these folks, it should be a clue that perhaps they shouldn't be taken seriously.

The case needs to be opened before it can be closed.

Congressional Democrats know this, of course — many of them are lawyers. They are issuing partisan letters that pose legally offensive threats, rather than subpoenas, because this is a show, not an impeachment inquiry. Subpoenas don’t require chest-beating about obstruction. Everyone knows they are compulsory, but everyone also knows they may be challenged in court. Such challenges take time, though, and Democrats are in a hurry to close this show after a short run.

Thankfully Trump publicly admits he colludes with foreign governments. It's in Trump's and the GOP's best interest to cooperate with the inquiry rather than obstruct. Otherwise, this thing will stretch on throughout the campaign season.

So Ukraine said nothing is there thats good enough, but when the Ukraine president says the same thing about his conversation with Trump its not good enough? Make up your mind, is the Ukraine word enough or not enough?

Also there is a sworn affidavit from Sholkin saying that he was told by Pershenko that he was fired because of Biden and his investigation into Hunter and Burisma. Is he lying or not? Don't know but one guy is risking perjury to say that while the other guy hasn't made a sworn statement. Add in that Burisma legal team also called the statements about Shokiln false and apologized for smears, while you have some contradictory stories going on her.

And there is still no explanation why Biden meet with Devon Archer, a man who was also part of a company that defrauded Native tribes for 60 Million dollars, was meeting with Biden at the white house, and 5 days later Biden is giving billions to the Ukraine for energy investment. And whoop whoop Devon Archer winds up on the board of Burisma days after the deal goes through and then he brings along Hunter. Why are these 2 guys connected to the WH sitting on a board of a corrupt company owned by 2 corrupt oligarchs, that had its assets frozen by the UK and was under investigation by the Ukraine? Is that a really good look for them to take money from a corrupt company and oligarch?

The minute Hunter was on Burisma's board Biden should of left being the point person on the Ukraine because there was a clear conflict of interest there with his son working for the company the prosecutor was investigating, and then asking for that prosecutor to be fired.
Is it a conflict of interest? Yes. Does it cause you to raise your eyes when viewed in a vacuum? Yes. Is it a "smocking" gun? No. If Joe Biden withheld loans, until Ukraine fired Shokin, he should not be the Democratic nominee in 2020. However, there is not a single shred of credible "evidence" that Biden did anything wrong. At the same time, there is credible evidence that he was acting in good faith.

Like all conspiracy theories, it leaves out important fact that Sholkin was fired because he was blocking corruption cases not investigating them. He would look the other way.

Let's look at the facts. This was an international effort and everybody agreed Sholkin should be removed because he "wasn't" doing his job. Ambassador Geoffrey Pyatt said Shokin undermined prosecutors working on legitimate corruption cases. And then we had bipartisan support among Republicans echo that sentiment. The EU and several other countries backed up the same concern. So we have all these people who are saying that Sholkin wasn't doing his job and now suddenly we have to believe him over our own government, Democrats and Republicans, and the International community. So Biden persuaded everybody to remove Shokin to protect his son? Does that make sense?

Besides if Trump really wanted to uncover evidence of wrongdoing, he would have used his own justice department not his fucking personal lawyer. Why isn't he? Because it's all a bunch of cockamamie bullshit that will go nowhere. It makes no fucking sense.

The other part of this is that the Trump cult wants to hold others accountable but doesn't want to hold Trump to those same set of ideals. Let's say Biden did something wrong. Get rid of him but you better get rid of Trump too. It baffling to me that the people who see Joe Biden did something wrong, see nothing wrong with what Trump did. Get rid of them both!

Impeachment proceedings are the insurance in case Warren or Sanders win the nomination. Free shit for everyone, get rid of your health insurance, and raise taxes through the moon are not exactly great general election platforms.

This was Trump's doing. The timing of it falls on him. Maybe you should not manufacturer a conspiracy and ask foreign governments to investigate it in order to receive favors. Democrats have offered to expedite the impeachment inquiry before the election. However, that will require the full cooperation and honesty from the administration, which is unlikely.

John Brennan, the guy who was Director of the CIA from March 2013 to January 2017 [aka Obama], the guy near the center of all the Russian collusion nonsense.... voted for the Communist Party during the height of the Cold War in the 70s.

I am not taking a stance on if Biden acted inapropriatly, but like you said there is a conflict of interest and it should cause us to raise our eyes. I don't know if this is or if there is any smoking guns, but Trump was investigated for a lot less for 3 years.

Shokin himself has signed a sworn affidavit and told 5 people including I think the Times and the Post that he was fired because he was investigating Burisma. Is Shokin lieing under oath? Sure he could be. Everyone and there mothers sound like they were corrupt in the Ukraine. But still he has given testimony that the reason he was fired was for investigating Burisma. This contradicts Biden's story. Where is the truth? While nothing wrong with asking the Ukraine to look into it and try to find the truth. Or maybe Biden can give a sworn testimony under oath with the threat of perjury like Shokin did.

Trump did ask the Ukraine to work with Barr on this, its on the transcripts he refers to Barr and his investigation.

Trump has been held "accountable" for 3 years. He has gone through 4 investigations. Meanwhile the Dem cult can't see that the exact shit they accuse Trump of is what the Dems did. Pay Russians for oppo research, check. Ask Ukraine to interfere in the election, check. Quid pro Quo, check(remember that Dems also sent letters to Ukraine telling them that aid will stop if they don't help with the Mueller investigation and if they investigate Biden).

Personally I don't believe Biden specifically asked Shokin to be removed because of his son, but it was a nice side benefit. What I do believe is Biden's position was used by his son and his partners to enrich themselves and possibly Biden as well.

But if we are going to talk about conspiracy theories and investigations its pretty rich when Dems were harrasing Trump over pee tapes and Russian disinformation and defrauding the FISA courts. Yet a stink needs to be made about clear conflict of interest on Bidens part, while his son worked for a corrupt oligarch who stole 1.8 Billion dollars to a cyprus offshore account. If you bought pee tapes I don't see how this doesn't raise eyebrows.

Here is the thing, Dems are stupid. If they didn't try to blow up this Ukraine call as another gotcha then no one would be talking about Biden and Ukraine. Now its all over FOX and other alternative medias and half the country is hearing Hannity talk about every night. Instead of shutting their mouths and gearing up for 2020 they blew this 1 minute 1 paragraph of Trumps call and its backfiring on Biden. Zelensky didn't open up an investigation, nothing would be coming out about Biden. But Dems couldn't hold their TDS and infatuation with impeaching Trump and now it boomerganed onto them.

And final point, the whole issue is about "dirt" on Biden and how this would benefit Trump politically. Essentially that is an admission of Bidens guilt. If Biden is clean then there is no "dirt" and nothing for Trump to gain. The only "dirt" would be Biden's crimes. So if Trump got dirt it would be crimes Biden committed, and if he committed crimes you figure the public would want to know.

"He said that in his twenties he had been both a Communist and a Reaganite. “I’m not even sure how to characterize myself politically,” he went on. “Maybe at some point, I’ll have to figure it out.”

Problems is, a lot of scandals have kick backs to alphabets. There is even a Whitey Bulger connection to the Ukraine scandal. Look up the history of kick backs and Bulger and the Winter Hill Gang. Mueller was part of that as well.

Proves the Dems are stupid. They blew this call up with nothing there because they are so thirsty to impeach Biden. They are worse than an Incel buying Bell Delphine bath water.

All they had to do was keep their mouths shut and no one would know about this Biden issue. Instead they blew it up because they thought they got em this time. Now Hannity is talking about this non stop. Even the MSM has to talk about it. If they didn't have the transcripts put out there no one would know about Biden and this would be stuck on BlazeTV and Glenn Beck.

They miscalculated how good Trump is at turning the tables. They thought he wouldn't be able to get himself out of this one and instead he will come out like teflon Don while Biden is going to be in worse ruins.

Comey also:

"He said that in his twenties he had been both a Communist and a Reaganite. “I’m not even sure how to characterize myself politically,” he went on. “Maybe at some point, I’ll have to figure it out.”

Problems is, a lot of scandals have kick backs to alphabets. There is even a Whitey Bulger connection to the Ukraine scandal. Look up the history of kick backs and Bulger and the Winter Hill Gang. Mueller was part of that as well.

It's deep.
Whitey Bulger's nephew owned a company that partnered with Rosemont(Heinz/Hunter/Archer) company and signed big deals in China.

Bohai Harvest RST . R=Rosemont Seneca (Hunter/Heinz/Archer). T=Thorton Group(James Bulger).

Oh and Archer was involved in a company that defrauded Native Tribes for 60 million.

Heinz(kerry) and Hunter(biden) form an equity firm. But sure they never at all used their fathers positions with Obama to help their company.

Oh and Hunter had no problem going after his dead borthers wife! What a stand up guy. You bro dies of brain cancer but I guess you gotta take care of his wife and diddle her.

At this point I believe the erosion of Biden's reputation is intentional. The media hasn't handled a Democrat presidential hopeful so poorly in a long time like they've been handling Biden. Biden is a VP and was a pretty benign character at the beginning of 2019. At worst, there existed some "clueless Biden" memes which started a few years ago but that was it. Now there's "sniffing shoulders Biden" and "Ukraine Biden" and "dementia Biden" and countless gaffes in full view, and the media is not doing its usual handwaving and circling the wagons. They report on it and let the mockery happen.

Hillary still wants the bid. Neither Warren nor Sanders would actually win. Biden is still polling far ahead the others. If he gets taken out, the media and Democrats will then ask the obvious question: "who can save us from Trump in 2020?"

And who better than Hillary "But I won the popular vote" Clinton to try to beat him (again)?

I don't see why any of this should be seen as a huge surprise. We all know about the corruption of contractors in Iraq like Halliburton. Do you think the Democrats wouldn't want their cut, too? Both parties are guilty of it.

But I guess the delusion that only evil, corporate-loving Republicans take bribe money is finally wearing off.

Knowing history is important. Who knew? 🤷‍♀️

Trump's doing, manufactured conspiracy, don't ask foreign governments to investigate... where does one even begin?

The impeachment push began right after Trump won the election. The Dems, the intelligence agencies and their media operatives were working on the Russian collusion farce as an insurance policy. Hillary supporters obviously wanted it to be true because they were conned into thinking she was a sure thing, Russian involvement gave them an excuse they could live with because it absolved their candidate of accountability, "It wasn't her fault she lost." Remember the concern people had about Trump respecting the outcome of the election if he lost? Well, we now know who was unwilling to accept the results.

When the Russian collusion narrative blew up in their face with Mueller's testimony they tried to convince everyone that Trump obstructed justice. That didn't fly, so here we are with a half-baked attempt to accuse him of election interference, even though the general election doesn't start until summer 2020 and there are still 18 or more candidates in the primary, of which I was never convinced Joe Biden would be able to survive anyway.

This was their plan all along, remove Trump from office by any means necessary not because he's guilty, but because they still can't accept the results of the 2016 election. That they're calling this Ukraine call election interference exposes just how scared they are about the 2020 election, they know it's not going to be an easy fight.

I could go back and forth on whether the media is out to get Biden without saying it. There's no doubt that CNN, MSNBC,etc., are at peace with ending his candidacy if that means they finally get Trump. When it comes to whether they want his candidacy taken down too, I am conflicted. They bend over backwards to tell us that the allegations against him were already looked at and dismissed (without ever explaining when, where, how, or by whom). That makes me think they are trying to protect him, but whether that is true is debatable because they are more likely than not protecting the narrative (which would fail spectacularly if they agreed his conduct warrants the investigation Trump wants).
