The Wii is torturing the graphics whore inside of me.

I hate to admit it, but it does. I am all about gameplay, but I can't deny that I have great difficulty playing Wii Sports (at first) with my friends after playing hours of Motorstorm or Dead or Alive 4. This is not a Wii bashing thread, and I don't want it to be since so many have been done in the past. But my question is directed towards multiplatform owners: Don't you guys find it a bit annoying playing with last gen graphics when you have something so much better available? I LOVE my Wii, and it probably got the most play time out of all my consoles (just to be fair I have only owned a 360 for a couple of days, but PS3 for 5 months). I just wish Nintendo went with slightly more powerful technology, or at least have given us the option to play games in 720p (hell the original Xbox did). So multi-console owners, what do you think? :lol

Mods, if you think this thread sucks please go ahead and lock it. I really just would like some input from other multi-system owners.

No. I've been playing mostly PS2 games at the moment.

I'm glad my Wii costed $250 instead of $600

I bet for $250 retail the Wii still could've looked almost as good as the X360 if Iwata and would have settled with buying a million dollar home instead of a 50 million dollar home.

The problem to me is that we all know Wii can do decent graphics. Zelda TP and RE4( gc games at that!) are more than good enough for me. Its just that we are not seeing no were near that level of graphics on the wii .

Tried component cable?

Yes... because a Wii + component cable will make games look next gen..

Hmm.. maybe I can try this component cable on my Saturn for Panzer Dragoon Saga next gen...

:)

Very true. I'd love for Wii games to look at least as good as RE4.

Banana Blitz looks great too. :D

is it doing that thing where it hangs you upside-down and saws you in half from your groin down but you feel the whole thing because the blood is rushing to your head

Why buy a Wii when you know that just about 90% of it titles won't look like they should or could? When I play games on a system I don't expect them to look like another completely different console.

You are missing the point. Oh well.

Yes. I don't have problem with "last-gen" graphics since I spend most of my time playing PS2 games over X360/PS3 games. What I have a problem with is when I go from PS2 games to Wii games and the Wii games look like ass in comparison to the recent PS2 titles I've been playing for the last 2-3 years.

If you said you mind the graphics in call of duty 3, ok but wii sports? It's sharp, clear and shows you all you need. I mean, it's not even attempting to look detailed. Yet I think it still looks nice. Just not realistic or detailed.

In my eyes Nintendo screwed up. If they had sold the Wii for $50 more, or cut their profit from the hardware sales just a bit and invested that in a stronger platform that could have SIGNIFICANTLY better graphics than the Original Xbox, the developer and user support would have been alot stronger, instead of everything thinking its a bunch of refurbished Gamecubes.

Not one bit, really. But I also go back and play old game all the time. In fact, I just finished a ten-year-old game a few days ago and am currently working my way through an eight-year-old game. Neither of those are 3D games, although I did play [for the first time] and finish System Shock 2 [a 3D game] less than a year ago. If a game is fun, I play it. If it's not, I don't.

Nice graphics are simply an extra.

I own a Wii and a 360.

I'm currently playing Pokemans Pearl.

quite posting that gif. It's disgusting.

I don't know about you guys, but Wii sports graphics don't bother me. They're simplistic sure, they never make me say "Wow," but once I start playing I don't really think about it.

The Wii and the DS could have had more power, but it was quite clear that Nintendo didn't know this risk would lead to success so they made it so that each console is incredibly profitable from the outset. I am sure had they known that they would be this successful they would have probably souped up graphics a little bit.

After all, the Gamecube was on par with the other two, and it was also the first one to become profitable.

Oh I know. I prefer stylized over realistic myself. I just don't know why Nintendo didn't deliver something akin to the Wind Waker (in terms of a "different" art direction) for Wii Sports. My problem isn't with Wii Sports specifically, but rather with most of the titles on the system.

But I think Mario Galaxy looks great.

And Dewy's Adventure.

I currently own a Wii and Xbox 360, and currently neither see as much use as my Playstation 2. I think I jumped on to the next-gen train a little too soon...as per usual.

They did but not for those reasons

Why don't console gamers get a few facts. Xbox wasn't cheap to make why do you think they moved onto 360, even then it's still not profitable yet they aren't getting hit big time by nvidia. Wii wasn't built to be a graphics powerhouse be lucky nintendo decided to do what it did they really could've kept the same cpu, gpu and ram config. The system was built around bc and vc not a bs marketing ploy to drive hdtv sales. You want graphics get a pc otherwise put up with what the platform comes out with. If half the people who whine about Wii graphics actually went to the source of the problem, publisher/devs, it might get fixed.

I own all three systems, and I only find wii fun when I'm playing wii sports with friends. Wii sports solo sucks, and every wii game I've played so far is crap too.

I suppose 360 and PS3 have spoiled me.

After getting a hi-def tv recently, and owning both a Wii and a 360 myself I guess I can kind of see where you're coming from. Give it a little bit of time, I bet this time next year we won't be complaining much.
