The Wii is torturing the graphics whore inside of me.

Look... I've seen the SDK. Not the most recent one, mind you, but I've seen it. It was the exact same as the damn Gamecube docs, not outlining wtf devs can do with the extra juice and the extra pipes on Hollywood,
So by now they should be able to create games that look like Resident Evil 4, even without the "extra juice". Or they're a bunch of lazy and untalented hacks who don't know what they're doing.

the wii has enough power to deliver a great looking game at SD. problem is that the wii is getting alot of last gen ports to make up for the fact that developers counted the system out. i say in 2008 well see better looking games.

We should see it by the later half of this year.

I'm playing Metroid Prime right now and holy shit, it looks wow.

No, not without engine production and talented devs. Your second sentence is correct.

PS And yes, Microsoft would be more likely to throw you microtransactions :lol

Anyway Dewy looks Very Nice

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that spiderman 3 on the Wii honestly doesn't look that bad in motion, and closer to the ground where the textures stay put.

As things go off into the distance they pop out/lose texture. Other than that it doesn't look too shabby...

There you go!
BTW, wrong thread? I already cleared that up in the Spiderman thread.

But my question is directed towards multiplatform owners: Don't you guys find it a bit annoying playing with last gen graphics when you have something so much better available?

I own a ps3, 360, wii, ds, and some older consoles. I use my ps3 to play ps2 games, and I've played my Saturn more than the 360 lately. But Wii isn't much played because it lacks
games that I want to play. I play WiiSports when I get visitors, but alone, I don't even want to finish Zelda. I even bought component cables because I thought I missed playing on my 40" lcd HDTV, but that wasn't the problem either.

Nope, this is totally correct. I bought the game last week and after reading reviews expected thw worst in terms of visuals, but what i got were textures, polygon models, particle effects, etc that were absolutely fine. Not pretty, but not ugly either.

It's only when Spiderman goes really high during the day that the textures disappear, and it's noticeable and it's very bad on VV's behalf.

Wait, the buildings in Spiderman 3 don't have textures?

It was a rushed game and they do have textures, but if you go too high they disappear.

Just clarifying, not defending this game, it should not have been released in this state.

Yes, later in the year this whole debate will died down expect for the diehards.

MP3 will look fab, galaxy will look smooth and smash brother will look frantic.

Not defending it too, but that seems to happen only in extreme cases (e.g. sitting on top of the empire state building), as I am playing it right now and in about 10 hours of play I've never seen anything that hideous.
