So yeah this was I was posting about:

All of the trailers have focused on the Red, Blue, and Green characters and we know they are playable. They let the cat out of the bag that the Yellow dude is playable too early on too. That scene is so chaotic I never looked closely at it and only noticed it now. He hasn't been seen since this reveal trailer as well. Even in the concept art that Streets Ahead posted he's silhouetted along with the White, Pink and Black characters and we haven't seen them in action at all. I'm assuming since he's playable the others could be too.
So we got:
Red's Fists
Blue's Swords
Green's Guns
Yellow's Hammer
White's Claws
Pink's Whip
and Black's......3DS?

God this game looks like pure fun and cannot get here fast enough. I have to admit my enthusiasm to play games has gone down as I have been getting older, but seeing games that play like this get me going again. I hope it is not a let down.

When looking at a thumbnail of the boxart, I swore I saw "Viewtiful Joe" instead of "Wonderful 101".

What's the name for the Japanese genre that includes Power Rangers? They're very obviously going that route -- and I love it!

RE: new characters: I'm confident they'll be playable, adding more fighting styles to the mix. It's hard to tell what the Black Hero's weapon is (some sort of remote control styled after a 3DS), but the others are easier to deduce.

+ The Yellow Hero will clearly be a power character with his sledgehammer -- probably good for softening up armored foes and crowd-clearing attacks.

+ The Pink Hero has a coiled-up whip... She's probably good at quick, ranged attacks, striking foes on the ground and in the air. Maybe she can even reel in distant foes. Whatever the case, it's fun to picture all of the recruited civilians linking together to form her whip, perhaps resulting in a longer whip the more people you've recruited.

+ The White Hero has claws... Although the box art makes it look like he may also wield a katana, unless that gold blade in his right hand is simply the side of his other claw, and his other claw is gold (so one silver claw, one gold claw). Indeed, his silhouette in the group shot makes it look like he has dual claws. If the Red Hero is a "power" melee character, then perhaps the White Hero is a "technical" melee character.

+ The Black Hero seems to be a "gadgeteer," if you would. Maybe he calls in airstrikes, or a robot assistant made out of the civilians you recruit. It's anyone's guess at this point, really.

Since they didn't show new TW101 footage in the May Nintendo Direct, here's hoping they're saving it for the E3 Nintendo Direct (which focuses on fall titles, and TW101 is a fall title). Hopefully they'll officially reveal the four new heroes, and hopefully they'll confirm multiplayer, as well. Maybe even online multiplayer -- there is a Nintendo Network icon on the box, after all.

There is a NN icon even on NintendoLand's boxart though. NSMBU's too.
I think we can now say it doesn't mean shit with the introduction of miiverse.

Yep. To be precise, you're fighting a half-robot flame-tailed reptilian gorilla with a beret and sword, while atop a gold-and-ivory mecha-hydra flying through the city.

If I had to guess, I'd say the gorilla-man is a recurring miniboss/rival, while the hydra is, like you said, a proper one-time boss

I could never decide on which one I'd like the most. Both those games + Bayo 2 sold me on a Wii U.

Pick one up and wait for reviews on another. Neither is likely to be a rush to get on the first day.

That said, I will be rushing to get both of them, although I can't get Pikmin on the first day because I7ll be on holiday.

EDIT: It's weird (and sad) to think this, if it's successful, might be the first game Kamiya gets to work directly on the sequel for.

i agree, it's gorgeous in so many ways. look at this GIF. strong choice of color, wide backgrounds, it has a great art direction. not only does it have those basics covered but it has the other elements that make a game gorgeous - i think this might be the most responsive game ever created. just look at all of the visual feedback the game is giving you when you do stuff. it is too much to comment on all of it. i just want to get this game in my hands and see how much control i really have.
