Why can't people just say that people are buying the PS4 because it's a bad ass gaming machine for $400. And that playstation is a popular brand world side and Sony has taken the ps3 and fixed everything that was wrong with it. I personally could care less about launch titles. You buy a console for the 6-7 year generation that comes with it. You don't buy it to play 2 games at launch.

Then why buy one at launch?

I'm also loving the sudden decreased importance of the PS4 being the cheaper console to play multiplats in recent discussions. Just seems like a few weeks ago when that was the BIG reason why the PS4 was going to crush everything else.

In terms of the watchdogs delay though? "Oh no man... Doesn't matter at all.".

So Watchdogs and DriveClub are delayed till 2014... That leaves mostly FPS for the rest of the ps4 lineup. Which is a real bummer. AC 4 will probably sell better than expected because of it though. I wonder what game PS+ members are going to get now that DriveClub is out. At least Resogun is still there.

Their 2014 is going to be so sick. Remember, 20 first party games from Sony WWS within the first year of launch... and we know, what? 10? 12? I lost count. But they have a LOT left to unveil.

I'm still skeptical about this. Many of these might be PSN/Crossplay titles. I imagine we'll see at least 2 or 3 more big titles before the end of the year, though.

It would get the many, many impatient gamers around the internet who keep pretending like Sony doesn't have a deluge of games left to announce from their first party studios to say "alright, the future does look bright. A delay is a delay, a bad game is bad forever... but yeah, I have confidence in what the future has to offer."

I personally don't require it - I know why I'm getting a PS4, and none of them began and ended with DriveClub, though I was going to get it - but I definitely think strategically, with so many games left to announce, if DC wasn't going to make 2013, they could have given people a slightly larger glimpse of their future lineup then.

You think the PS4 is going to have 18 more first party games by next November?

A thought occurs.

What if #DRIVECLUB is delayed.. But the PS+ version is not?

We already knew it was stripped down and the like. What if that's the version they offer before the real one? GT5 Prologue style?

I dont think the problem was with features but rather with getting the whole game to run 60fps.

Yea, meant to quote J-Rzez.

Honestly have no idea how I quoted you instead. Did not type your name in the box. Didn't quote any of your post... this is the second time this happened to me in this topic so I must be going crazy lol

sorry :D

It's not just you. I quote-replied to someone and somehow ended up with 2 different member quotes in my post...

And how is Xbox One's better. I love how Xbox One Fans that like to talk about the Xbox One and Complain about the PS4 like to complain about the PS4 launch line up and completely ignore how bad their own line up is.

Someone forgot this wasn't N4G for a minute there...

Oh absolutely, I'm was referring more to the way the thread is progressing. Hardliners defending the delay and attempting to downplay any claims of it being a blow to the consoles launch line-up, etc by posting lists and then arguing the games on those lists...

It's fascinating.

No what is fascinating Miles is that Drive Club is getting more attention now than ever before. If anything people are significantly overplaying the importance of Drive Club in terms of sales potential, system seller capability, review scores. Hell this is the first time ive heard this game being mentioned as a "AAA" title. Its getting pimped out, for obvious reasons, to make this look far worse than it is.

The only exclusives that even remotely matter in any significant capacity are Killzone and Forza. And even those 2 games are peanuts compared to the likes of CoD, Battlefield, FIFA, Assassins Creed etc. Which are primarily the games that will sell these systems.

The real fascinating part is seeing a game that only a few cared about suddenly get enormous amount of attention because its rumored to be delayed.

And both sides are equally bad, had this been Ryse it would be praised to high heavens to make the news seem worse "oh wow Action GOTY, the next RE4, the next masterpiece was delayed what a huge blow to Xbox One!" when in reality very few would care.

According to Vernandus and what we know so far:

1. inFamous

2. Something

3. Deep Down

4. The Order: 1886

5. SSM/Naughty Dog (one will be pushed to next year according to him)

Others: Rime, Shadow of the Beast

and i'm expecting some Move titles from third parties in there

Some titles that might make it to 2014:

Demons Souls

Yakuza Ishin

Which is my point. There aren't going to be a whole load of people getting a console for one or two cross-gen multiplats and the only deciding factor for them being one thing such as price, brand loyalty, controllers etc. They'll be looking at everything.

The people trying to sugarcoat this are cute. Yeah nobody was buying a PS4 FOR Driveclub, but the fact that a smaller form of it was free for PS+ was a HUGE deal. You were basically getting part of an exclusive large studio launch game for free. It is damaging to have this moved for PS+ members who were buying a PS4 no matter how you slice it.

It was a nice boon to my $400 purchase to get a decent chunk of a Sony Studios launch game.

The thread is equal parts sugarcoating and schadenfreude.

I don't think Sony is lying. They have a massive number of studios unaccounted for. Yes, I do think easily Sony will have close to the 20 Sony WWS games from launch til the end of 2014.

However, some may indeed be PSN games. I don't think that somehow qualifiers them to be considered less or something, so I don't know why that would matter.

If they had gone with "Gran Turismo: DRIVECLUB" as was rumored, this would make so much more sense.

I didn't know Drive Club was so vital to the launch of the PS4. For racing fans it's gotta suck, but I think the impact is way overblown here on GAF, as usual. Great news for Forza; no competition at launch will help a ton.

Lol I didn't know either. But apparently this is gonna have some huge impact on ps4 sales.

I hope this isn't true as Driveclub looks pretty interesting and I have enjoyed the company's previous racing games. Fortunately, there are still a number of other games coming out to keep me occupied and I guess now I will just pay a bit more attention to Need for Speed.

I agree. I think the negative talk about Drive Club is unwarranted. Personally I've compared both games visually and DC is on another level compared to Forza. I'm not saying it's a better game. Everyone knows Forza is a good racer. But what I don't understand is why all the negative feedback for a visually impressive game that nobody has played yet

Like you have a good history...

It's like you're begging for it.

On topic: This delay sure sucks for those who were excited to play this at launch, but it could mean great things for the game's performance. I don't mind either way since I wasn't gonna get the game anyway. Racers don't turn me on anymore.

Wanted to test the demo at least and see the awesome lighting at launch though. Bummer.

Careful with the insult guys, Xbot and Sony Ponies are bannable offenses as they only serve to insult and flame someone without adding anything to the table.

PS4 launch is looking pretty terrible now there's no denying it. If you where one of the guys that wanted Watch Dogs and DriveClub as your go to launch titles (both looks impressive) then you are better off waiting for next year. Next Year is going to be awesome with Titanfall, INfamous and Kinect Sports 3.

You think Watchdogs and DriveClub are game changers? Nobody gets to play Watchdogs at launch, and who honestly thought that DriveClub was gonna sell consoles?

Price will absolutely still be a big factor.

Why wouldn't it be? Seriously? Can you come up with a logical reason why that shouldn't be mentioned? Do you think fans of pinball videogames do not deserve to have titles aimed at them counted, or do you simply believe that by virtue of being a game about pinballs, it's not worthy of being counted along AAA CHECKLIST GAME 29,000?

So many people still trying to somehow give these companies "half credit" for smaller games and indie games. Remarkable in this day and age and so against what we as gamers should stand for.

more numbers dont mean quality titles...the ps4 does have allot of indies as exclusives in the first year but you would be kidding yourself if every single one turned out to be a good game...indies are great because they are more likely to try something new but because of this they are either hit or miss. ....the rest would be right at home on the apple app store at $1.99 .

im hoping to see some great indie titles but I have only seen maybe 3 that I would pull the trigger on

well, they DO count don't they?

I believe he's referring to the fact that in the past people would ignore/disregard indie titles when comparing PS3 and 360 titles because some of those titles were also on PC.

Someone forgot this wasn't N4G for a minute there...

You should see the posters comments int he launch line-up thread. Yeesh...

I don't know, I felt there was quite a bit of hype behind the game. I was pretty interested in it, as it seemed to be shaping up as a good replacement for PGR...which is now essentially a dead IP.

Had MS been on top of their game this year, this would have been devastating. PS4 is still going to dominate at launch.

I mean, it sucks, but I'm more worried about the PS4s 2014 exclusive line up. Infamous, the order, and now driveclub aren't quite enough imo. I really hope they have some big stuff planned for the VGAs

They just haven't announced what their biggest studios are working on. It's not like they're not in the pipe. They're not missing. Sony's first party studios have not gone on hiatus.

However, this DriveClub news if true means they definitely should have revealed one or two of the other big titles they have in the pipeline for 2014.

Well I do know that. It's the reason I don't fear purchasing their hardware as I know the titles will come. But it's annoying that they can't have some of their AAA games ready at launch. I'm sure end of 2014 will be great. I just wish that Nov 15th 2013 would be great as well.

I get that many don't have gaming PCs so there's all these 3rd party titles they never played before, or on instead of, but it just disappoints me. Especially because KZ isn't high on my list of favorite franchises. Their system mover is GT. Why is there not at least a Prologue there day-1?

Meh, oh well. Maybe the 5th Playstation console will be the charm for them to get this part right...

They have one more AAA game for next year. UC 4 and it should be announced at the VGAS. I can see them announcing maybe two more PSN smaller releases as well. I doubt there'll be much more then that.

At the same time, why wait for next year? It's not like the PS4 is going to be any cheaper with a price cut at that point.

I don't really see any incentive to cancel my pre-order. Instead I'll just play Killzone and wait I guess...

you know what I love?

For the past few months its been a series of negative news/announcement after another for the xbone, and now we have a bunch of salty people grasping to find something negative to post about the PS4.

If you think Driveclub will have any impact on actual PS4 sales, you are dreaming.

Sure looks that way.

Also gives time to check out launch game reviews, gameplay, UI, the works. Think I'll let my buddies take the risk on launch consoles this time.

Will keep my PS4 pre-order until we see confirmation and what if anything is done to address it though. But yeah, just about the last of my hype has been deflated as I was looking forward to this on day one.

I would argue their slip ups occurred when they made decisions a year ago that put them in the position they're in now, with a weak lineup of exclusives in the first 9 months for the PS4.

After Infamous early next year, and now Driveclub, I think there is gonna be a big exclusives drought until The Order shows up in the Sep/Oct window.

I'm sure they will announce some more games for 2014, there's no way there will be only 3 first party AAA games for PS4 next year. My bet is at least an Uncharted 4 announcement at the VGAs.
