No, it has to be released at ps5 because I said so and everyone else who can't find this console or can't afford 500+80 can go fuck themselves. That's is the mentality of some people... No game coming in the next one or two years will have fundamental (in gameplay) difference with the last gen.

The best reply in this thread by far, the base of the game is still the same with the last gen. Why delay a game 2 years to waste time and money when you can release it, make profit and then start building a new game with the new hardware in mind and it's capabilities. But apparently a gen that started 2 months ago has to wipe the last gen completely. And in the end of the day Sony is not your friend or your parents to make sure that your wishes are granted, they are one of the biggest companies in the word that they primal reason to make any product is to make money. But some people don't want to understand that.

All for it due to COVID development is hard enough remotely as is and they want people moving to the new consoles. Only issue would be supply of the hardware not being able to meet the demands of the software?

Even if PS5 have supply constrains, unlike WiiU PS5 had the best selling quarter for a console in gaming history. PS5 is and will be a massive success.Sony was printing money with the PS1 and the PS2 and then the PS3 drained all that money from them and forced them to sell their building, they also lost a lot of money from their Vaio-brand PC division and had to fire 5000 people, also their TV's, smart phones, movies are not doing so hot either, they will not be able to afford it if the PS5 is a failure. also before anyone jump and say that the PS5 is a success they should wait a few years first since the WiiU also sold out for months after it's release.

They come from breaking all records in gaming history with PS4 not only selling consoles, but also in games, subscription or gaming revenue. All these is BC, so won't magically dissapear.

Motorstorm was a low profile AAA. Uncharted was shorter even than miles morales released December 2007, and far away from current Sony productions, God of War 3 in 2010, Killzone 2 in 2009. PS3 release was on 2006.
Anyway God of War 2 was released exclusively on PS2, when PS3 was in the market

Lmao. Hitman 3 sold twice as many copies on PS5 as it did PS4 in the UK.
By the time these games come out the split will be more like 75%, if not more.
Same thing happened last gen. Doesn't matter how big the install base is, it's where the bulk of core gamers are that matters.

Why would they? Look, people that have bought these new consoles despite the lack of any really compelling software have already demonstrated that they have either lots of available income, poor impulse control or both.
Right now, the stuff they are more likely to release PS5 only are games that are likely to feel the most effect from the "thirsty new console" owner effect - and things like GoW are likely to sell extremely well anyway so intentionally restricting them to a much smaller install base would be a terrible business move.
Sure, if you were trying to encourage adoption of the new console then it might make sense - but since right now the sales appear to be pretty much 100% supply constrained it would effectively just be leaving money on the table, and Sony are a business.

But it will sell more PS5's if its exclusive, and sometimes you need system sellers to get people to move onto nextgen.
This is currently not relevant though, with the low stock situation.
