What is an equality fallacy? Because that's the first i've ever heard of it and a quick search only gives links to rationalwiki which is not exactly the pinnacle of trustworthy and unbiased knowledge. I've heard of the false equivalence fallacy but i doubt that's what you had in mind

The fallacy or mistake I am talking about is the idea that to achieve equality we must shut up about our differences.
You can still value individuality while fighting for fundamental freedoms for marginalized groups whose rights are supposed to be assured by a consensus via constitution or charter of rights and freedoms.
A sale for LGBT games to is no more an Affront to equality than a seniors discount at the movies or ladies night at the bar.
Claiming as such is the rallying call for veiled bigotry.

I think when people say they are for equality, they generally mean:
A.) Individuals should have the same basic rights and opportunities
B.) Individuals should be treated with full dignity and respect
Believing A.) and B.) doesn't commit us to any view about how individuals should actually live their lives, beyond the minimal constraint that they respect others' rights. So in no way does it commit us to the claim differences are bad or that only one way of living is the right one.

Uh.... Let's clarify a few things, shall we?
The whole idea of seniors getting a discount is because they are presumed to have a lower income than the working class, which is logical and reasonable in most cases. Their pension is not as much as a normal salary, if they even have that at all, and with their physical limits to get work, it makes sense to give them some sort of compensation.
The whole idea of a ladies night came from the time that women either didn't do paid work or could only work part time. That made sense back then, but now is technically pandering, because women have the same (if not more) opportunities for income as men. But in any case, they still had value to society back then, either through supporting their man or their children at, and now in supporting large communities and having huge financial and political power.
What value do you bring to society if you choose to identify as a cat? Why does this somehow give you the right to a discount?
The same reaction men get regarding men's day. Which is a condescending and denigrating dismissal.

Yeah.... I understand the sentiment but the world does not work that way. Do you have the same respect for someone that chose to drink and do drugs and ends up homeless, as you have for someone that had the same origin but worked their ass off instead and managed to maintain a job and a healthy family? You may intend to treat them both equally, but inevitably your attitude towards them will be completely different, even if the circumstances of the encounter are exactly the same.
How many of these people that claim to stand for equality look down on anyone that is not pushing for what they believe in? The majority of these people don't want equality. They want revenge against a ghost.

I mean respect in a "moral" sense. You're free to think what you like about the person who chose to do drink and drugs (though disentangling choice from environment is pretty hard). But you wouldn't treating them with dignity and respect, in my sense if you followed them around all day and verbally abused them, or spat at them, or urinated on the spot where they planned on sleeping. (People actually do this in London).
