Where in the scan or thread that states that Final Fantasy XIII did not receive the "perfect" 40/40 score? I do not see it anyone where on the thread.

If the rumors are true, then my prediction was wrong, as I predicted it would be the fifth game this year that Famitsu gave a 40/40 score. Howvever, I am not surprised.

I don't know how much the rest of you know about Japanese culture (I'm an expert), but honor and shame are huge parts of it. It's not like it is in America where you can become successful by being an asshole. If you screw someone over in Japan, you bring shame to yourself, and the only way to get rid of that shame is repentance.

What this means is the japanese public, after reading about this, is not going to want to purchase FFXIII for either system, nor will they purchase any of Square's games. This is HUGE. You can laugh all you want, but Famitsu has alienated an entire market with this move.

Famitsu, publicly apologize and give FFXIII a 40/40 for PS3 and 39/40 for 360 or you can kiss your business goodbye.

Exactly! That's too many times a group of four reviewers can coincidentally all feel a game in 2009 is exceptional. Games should constantly be rewarded lower than reviewers feel like in fear of the total score being "perfect" when no game is perfect.

So these four reviewers should band together and draw a name out of the hat for someone to reward a game less than a 10 even if they deserve it.
