ASH Review

He's a pretty swell guy in my books anyway.

Wow, it's pretty ironic that those original 4:3 screens were from the DS game, after all the sarcastic gloating from Izzy over the past week.
Yeah, neither of those two were from the PSP game, one was from the DS version and the other was from the mobile version. :lol

same team, so possibly same engine
Really? So everyone but the director?

Isn't that the one everyone was saying must be a PS2 game? Well, so much for N64 3D!

I hope Square Enix knows that we don't need 40 dudes looking like Roxas. Seriously, how will you explain it? Wait, let me guess:
Roxas was a person once and THEN became Sora's nobody forgetting everything in the process?

If thats the explanation then fuck.

edit: Oh hey, its the Keybalde from the KH2 ending...only its more cartoony with the yellows and light blues. Oh and again, way to change it up by putting Zack in a KH game.

I don't see why people are suprised. Kingdom Hearts for GBA had graphics that were better than almost half of the DS games out there. Its no surprise that the DS version has awesome graphics.

KH is just lame now. It's not even about interesting Disney tie-ins, just a cliche Anime story with characters putting their hands on their hips

Nice contribution to a thread about screen shots of upcoming games. Really.

Nothing wrong with complaining about the games leaving behind their Disney heritage more and moreso, which is what made them more interesting and popular than it should've been as just a decent Action RPG.

There's an interview with Nomura about the 3 KH games, and he confirms that it is not the Crisis Core team that is working on the PSP game (might still be the same engine) but the Osaka S-E team that worked on KH Re:CoM.

Edit: And people that think they're "leaving behind the Disney stuff" is very, very wrong. :)

Amen. I'm not really that presumptuous, but I'm fairly sure that I (or any animation buff) could put together a more compelling Kingdom Hearts game than those that have been released. The Japanese don't "get it" at all.

Edit: Egad! It looks like posts are being policed here. So, um, are the clashing art styles between your Dejas and your Natwicks on 1 side and your Nomuras on the other really starting to annoy anyone?

So is it a good thing or bad? I never played CoM before.

Wow that mobile game looks incredible. Comparable to those DS scans. Is this a miracle DoCoMo phone running that?
No, it's not a miracle phone. Nomura mentions in the interview that while the environments are 3D, the characters are 2D sprites. Its just really good art assets.

Edit: I dunno, KH Re:CoM was a really, really solid remake of CoM. I've actually played it. :p

Re:CoM is the full 3D remake of CoM on the PS2 that was packed with KH2 FM+. :p
Nevermind what I said then, it's late and I'm tired. Though if they kept the battle system I can't see it being much more compelling than the original.

...Was KH2 FM+ released internationally?
