"THQ posted strong fourth quarter results primarily driven by the success of Homefront," said THQ President and CEO Brian Farrell. "We have already shipped 2.6 million units, a solid start for this new franchise, which kicks off the strongest pipeline of AAA core games in our history. We also continued to grow the uDraw franchise with the successful international debut of this compelling new tablet. Today, I am pleased to announce that we plan to bring exclusively designed uDraw GameTablets to Microsoft Xbox 360 and Sony PS3 platforms this holiday."

Farrell continued, "We expect to generate significant growth, profitability and cash in fiscal 2012, driven by the latest installments of multi-million unit selling franchises, Saints Row, Red Faction, Warhammer 40,000, MX vs. ATV, UFC, WWE, and uDraw. We are creating a digital ecosystem for each of these games that will continue to keep consumers engaged and generate additional revenue opportunities beyond the initial retail sale. We also continue to aggressively invest in our digital initiatives, including online social and mobile offerings as well as our Warhammer 40,000: Dark Millennium Online MMO."

Life to date, THQ's new owned IP, Homefront, has shipped 2.6 million units. For the month of March 2011, Homefront was the #1 title on Xbox 360 and the #3 title on PS3, in the US and the top five European markets1. Homefront remains the best-selling week-one new console release in 2011 in the UK. 1Source: NPD (Total US Market, March 2011); GfK (Euro 5, March 2011)

In fiscal 2011, THQ shipped:
1.7 million units of theuDraw GameTablet,
4 million units of WWE branded videogames: SmackDown(R) vs. Raw(R) 2011 and WWE All Stars, and
3 million units of UFC(R) Undisputed(TM) 2010.

from conference call:
WH40k MMO set for next fiscal year.
uDraw tablets are "High Definition".
new Homefront multiplayer demo announced
Metro 2033 Last Light officially announced for next year. Devil's Third and Darksiders 2 also mentioned for next fiscal year.

QA:
THQ on new Nitnendo console: "We are excited about the prospect of new hardware next year and look forward to working on that system."

Homefront was profitable.

Ha! I thought that THQ said they'd collaborated with Nintendo on uDraw, but that must have just been the Wii-specific tablet. Will be interesting to see if this is any more successful than their last Wii --> Multiplatform effort (de Blob).

Yeah, but I remember Ubisoft mentioning something similar with their Wii Camera... that was also included with a PC version of Your Shape...

I hope it's a enhanced tablet for the HD consoles more like the PC drawing tablets

Heh that's wishful thinking. They'd want to keep cost down, you want get anything that is high quality.

I'm not sure porting uDraw to 360/ps3 will bring them much success (de Blob 2 being multiplatform didn't help that game much :( ) but who knows.

Edit : WTH every platform dropped for them except the wii?

Oh so now we are getting a Homefront demo. I wonder if I will help. It sadly does seem pretty smart since summer is around the corner.

I question the wisdom of pursuing demos and DLC for Homefront when, as far as I can tell, its basically fallen off a cliff in terms of MP enthusiasm. Poor QA led to a terrible product on launch, and you know what they say about first impressions...

At this point I would rather THQ direct their efforts on the sequel, rather than trying to squeeze profits that simply aren't there. Dedicating resources towards DLC that may take up to six months to materialize, for a game that has already dwindled into insignificance in terms of player support, is throwing money down a well.

Funny, anyone remember this ...not long ago too..

THQ says that they don't want a PS4/XBOX720 Generation just yet

What if Sony and Microsoft were to turn around tomorrow and announce the arrival of PS4 and Xbox 720 within three years? For THQ core games boss Danny Bilson, that would be a disaster.

"It would be horrible," Bilson told Eurogamer in an exclusive interview published today. "But I think they all know our model's broken anyway.

....unless they just meant new Sony or Microsoft systems so other Next gen system are A-oK with them or something.

It obviously ties in with the rumours and indications that the new Nintendo system is going to be a less-than-full-gen leap, and that it should be easy to up-port current-gen titles to.

THQ - and most other publishers, I'd imagine - would be very unhappy with another massive leap forward and all the costs entailed therein, but to have a new platform where they can bring their current multiplat games in "enhanced" form for (relatively) little extra outlay? Probably quite appealing.

Was there any mention of De Blob 2 sales? Would like to know how well the DS version (which I worked on) did.
