Titanfall Gameplay Footage (Embargo Lifted)

Currygan

at last, for christ's sake
Gotta say, that Last Titan Standing was actually sort of hype deserving. First time I see something I like in a Titanfall related video

Hmmmmm

Sorry if this has already been discussed, but on the jackfrags video he mentioned that they don't have private matches?

Seems strange. I thought they'd try to be the next big competitive shooter.

Am I the only one that thinks this look too much like CoD, and thus, not really impressed/hyped?
It does remind me of CoD but my problem that's not my problem with it. I just think it looks too static coming from some one who enjoys their Battlefield games and the destruction those games employ. I've always wanted CoD games to have more destructibility.

A game with huge mechs and firepower shouldn't be thwarted by tiny dwellings. I don't expect every wall to come down but at least have some. Or how about some fences or other destructible materials?

I'm still looking forward to trying out the beta though.

We'll have to see. But the 360 port has been in the oven alongside the xb1 version. So the thought that respawn wasn't thinking about it at all isn't very plausible.
I want Xbox 360 version to be good (I would prefer to play this against my Xbox friends), but I'm not sure if it is worth getting on PC... And there's no way I'm getting Xbox one just for this game.

Meh, what PS4 exclusives on the horizon are likely to get me to turn it on? Maybe some downloadable titles, but most of Sony's push will probably be at E3, which means the big guns won't arrive until the holidays.

Multiplatform titles I'll probably play on PS4, but what BIG multiplats are hitting? Not really much in the first year that excites me as much as Titan Fall and the thought of playing it with buddies.
Not interested in inFAMOUS, Drive Club, MLB 14 or anything else coming out soon? I just find it ironic you talk about people downplaying this game even though not everyone will like it but then go ahead and do the same thing about the PS4 even though it's all subjective. So why can't people not critique this game just like you apparently aren't interested in the games I mentioned above?

I can't wait to try Titanfall, but I understand why people might not like it. It definitely is underwhelming graphically like I expected but the gameplay will redeem it for a lot of people. I'm just disappointed to hear the guns are like COD since I'm so tired of easy mode shooting.

So these streamers managed to get in the beta early but the game isn't available for the 'general public' until Friday I assume.

It is going to be a long wait. I can feel it.

Assuming we're lucky enough to get in. That's going to be even harder since I don't think I'll be lucky on this one.

Is there any persistence to this game? A larger world battle state? Some world progression that provides context and direction to these battles? Maybe something along those lines was planned but won't make it into this first game?

Because while the game looks like an amazing good time I'm curious whether it'll have legs. The core gameplay loop and unlocks and challenges will certainly keep people engaged, but I mean six months from now, ten months from now.

Is this game setting the stage for something wider and more persistent?

Not inFamous. Drive Club could be interesting though, as I'm a sim fan.

But the difference is, I'm not going into an inFamous thread and telling people about how uninteresting the game looks. I check out inFamous threads, hoping to see video or impressions that might sway me, but I don't post saying 'nope, this looks boring'. Why be a buzz kill?

I guess it depends on how well they fit the SP stuff into a MP game. If it works out well, I can seem them pushing it wider to do more persistent things. Well, we can hope they do.

Jesus that looks fun.

The on foot shooting does look COD like I guess. If you ignore wall-running and the verticality, there are similarities with quick deaths and iron sights.
But it looks like it changes completely into more Halo style bullet sponge gameplay when the Titans come into it.

Sorry for asking this, but I'm working and don't have the time to browse the videos, but is there PC footage? The xbone stuff I clicked on looked really boring and limited by the input.
This look incredible , really.

Still can't choose between X1 and PC version , though.
You're crazy.

Been watching frags stream, loving what I'm seeing.
Smart pistol killing nades/not needing a lock to shoot, as well as knifing the wall to hang.
He's also not terrible, so theres that.
Awesome, cant wait to see all the other maps they've got for launch at some point.

Yeah , should probably just get it for x1 , right ? :)

I'll probably go with PC , but my clan are kinda meh about supporting it and this looks like it will be insane comfy couch fun.The beta should help them decide if any of them are gonna play it.

Does anyone know if the PC version has a party system or private lobbies ?

Titanfall is one of many "badass-looking" shooter games that will profit because of its insanely high pacing. It practices the very same obsession-fueling intensity of online action that can be experienced in such FPS classics as Unreal Tournament, Quake and Call of Duty. Respawn Entertainment's debut game is an obvious reflection of its previous practices and arrives like a ship of rebellious vengeance towards executives at Activison. It is a wet dream for a publisher like EA, which has mercilessly grabbed the opportunity to fulfill a wish of the most successful in the games industry. It will succeed and drive revenue that the developer needs in order to stay truly independent. Titanfall could have been the next Call of Duty. Instead it is a game that aims for the same audience. It presents itself with confidence thanks to veteran developers set free, and in its own way, successfully manages to combine elements of most appealing games of the last generation.

After watching JackFrags, the weapon gun play seems nearly identical to CoD, however I'm liking the pace of the game (very similar, but now there's vertical, so that's good). Found some of the mechanics interesting.

Hopefully I will be able to try out the Beta.
