Yes Finally back! (Aww yiss made the wall of shame) Update looks great, can't wait til satchel spammers have to figure out how to play again ;D Also like the sound of lower quality of water as I still get a lot of frame drops on Lagoon. Hoping we get a return of quicker load times on PC with this update I've had to lower my texture quality after the last update so I could spawn in the ship and not on the floor!

Next on the list is those hashtag lobbies, can't wait to play without smart pistols, satchels and Titan burn cards (they still sound OP as hell).

Pain in the ass at times to have to sit and wait for it to "connect" to the main menu. Plenty of times as well I get "private lobby failed" and get set back to the start screen. Spend way too much time looking at menus in Titanfall.

For reference's sake, could you point out what bugs you're talking about again? Extra bonus points if you have a video, or better yet, a consistent way to trigger the bugs you're talking about.

The guys at Respawn have been reading these pages since day 1, little point going over old ground. I posted a couple of gifs a while back in OT1 to no reaction. One I haven't mentioned is getting stuck after respawning. Happened about about 3 times since I started playing again, I can jump and crouch but can't move direction.

I don't think we as the community know the best balance for weapons, really. A lot of folks got pissed off by the shotgun, but I was never bothered by it. I think telemetry is the most important data point for making changes.

I made a similar point when people were calling for the shotty nerf. Anyway, my own data throws up as many questions as answers as apparently the Spitfire is my most accurate auto weapon! On the Carbine v CAR debate, no question the Carbine is more accurate at even medium range.

i think people would rather see the other guns elevated to its level. personally, i'd like to check out a build that has the carbine be the jack of all trades and good in virtually every situation (as it is now, no nerfs), with the other guns improved to be better at specific things.

i'll withhold judgement on what respawn has done till i get hands on. i think balances were definitely needed, so i;m happy they have done anything.

meh, TTK is already really low in Titanfall, I'd rather them nerf the OP guns then buff the others.

I'll reserve judgment till the update but it sounds like I'll have to pour a 40 out for the carbine. Was hoping to get to gen 10 before they nerfed it. Oh well ill just have to start practicing the car and hemlock

Maybe now I won't kill myself as much with them.

My thought as well. Seems like they will still work the way I typically use them which is on turrets at face level, on titans when rodeo'ing and hardpoints where people tend to congregate. About half the time (or more) that I try to use them when I get in a direct fight I end up killing myself as well.

Hmm since hemlock is next on my challenge list hopefully this will make it easier. Amped G2 sounds pretty good as well. Kind of wish I had gotten the gooser challenge back when it was still hardcore to get that emblem. When do these go into effect?

The tail end of the Respawn logo slows down to a crawl, and then I just get a black screen after it ends. No main menu. Setting -novid just gets me straight to the blank screen. The game doesn't crash, so I can't go look in event viewer to see what happened or anything, I have to alt-tab out and end the task or else I just get to stare at nothing forever.

A repair of the install and a complete uninstall/reinstall hasn't helped either. The game worked just fine last friday when I played it last. :/

I'm on Windows 8.1 with the latest GeForce 340.43 beta drivers, if that helps at all? I dunno. This is frustrating.

Are you using afterburner? That caused the same issue for me.

Unfortunately not. I'll have to try disabling stuff like RivaTuner or something. Then maybe rolling back my drivers, despite them working just fine with the game before. From my googling I can't seem to find anyone else who's had this specific problem so I can't find an easy fix. :/

EDIT: I think I fixed it somehow. I'd had the -high command applied to the game properties, I removed it, and it launches fine now. I don't know why setting it to a high priority like that breaks it when it didn't before, but whatever, I can play again.

It had no weaknesses so far as I could tell. There are no attrition (heh) fights in Titanfall, all the guns kill in a few hits if you land them, so the idea that making every single weapon more power would improve gameplay is baffling.

Pretty much agree with this. It could hit guys from across the map quite literally what I would consider sniper range. It also was great in mid distance fights and only lost in close range fights to the car and shotgun if both players saw each other at the same time. I'll miss it but I understand why it needed to be changed.

Just like how I understand the halo 1 pistol needed to be changed as well. It was the same thing you could head shot people across blood gulch and take em close range as well with no downsides.

So what's everyones play time with the carbine? I've used the bloody thing for over a day (27 hours) while all the other guns are under 8 hours. Pretty telling really that there was a problem with the gun, it was like a bloody blaster rifle or something, capable of sniping people across the map. Finally the SMG will be a lot more viable as well with the update.

To those defending it, it's an assault rifle guys, not a sniper. It will finally be doing it's job properly.

Also buffing every weapon to the Carbine level of OP would just be silly.

I don't get this at all. If history has shown us anything it's that the most well regarded shooters are those that had only a few main guns.

There was nothing wrong having the pistol be the main gun, just like it wasn't wrong that the shotgun was the main gun in gears of war 1. Why? Because it creates a level playing field and one that you can master.

So, I never understood this argument because Shooters work best when there's only a few select guns to master. It's also telling that a majority of complaints come from bad players of said games. More often than not it's a casual crowd whining about a game being dominated by this gun or that gun.

It's not like the carbine is some mini rocket where one click in someone's direction is an automatic kill. Titanfall is about movement and you can out strife someone easily on a carbine vs carbine situation. As long as there's gunplay the gun isn't overpowered.

As for the sniper vs carbine argument... We saw this in halo 3 where the sniper became ridiculous but at least you had to pick it up . Imagine what that would be like in this game when you can start with the long bow and not be threatened by a carbine

It was a problem in Halo 1 I would argue because the game was designed around picking up more powerful weapons on the map and everyone started with the pistol. It's less of an issue in this game. Don't get me wrong I loved it and had lots of fun with it.

So I guess your point being its ok for it to overshadow other weapons I don't entirely disagree and most people seem to remember it fondly.

Really though I'd leave it to Respawn to be the best judge of what needs changing. They made the game and now they see fit to change the carbine because it is far too good at its job.

But have you ever seen good players , and I mean GOOd players play halo ce? They still went for the sniper and for the rocket because they were HuGE to wining the match.

You do realize that bungie agreed with my line of thinking thats why that pistol has never returned in its original form. Unless you think you understand game balance better than bungie, epic and now respawn.

Nice ad hom attack though thats cute.

No, I don't think that. Who knows how I would do game balancing but thinking they can't do wrong is clearly false. Weapon balancing is different than game design, at least from what I can tell. A lot of it is taking shots in the dark because you never know how decisions will pan out.

Remember maulers in halo 3?

They should have waited to do the free weekend sale on PC until after the patch. With all the new players running around I feel like unbalanced teams are the worst they've ever been.

I can't wait to use the R97 after getting tweaked. I thought it was kind of underrated to begin with as I buzzed through it's challenges pretty fast. Kind of reminds me of the P90 from COD4.

Halo CE is the most balanced console fps of all time. The pistol was a utility weapon. Every other weapon served a purpose and was used (except the needler).
