Timothy Spall narrates a documentary following five young people with Tourette syndrome as they spend a week in a US summer camp with other young people who share their behaviour, which is characterised by involuntary movements and noises. Campers are encouraged to explore their syndrome through a variety of activities, rather than suppress it as society often demands. What are the challenges of living with Tourettes, and will the teenagers leave better equipped to deal with their condition?

Its a pretty serious British Documentary, about a group of british teenagers with TS. They go to the US to a camp with loads of people with TS, so they can be themselves and not worry about controlling their tics.

Watching the first video was pretty heartbreaking. The poor girl is obviously uncomfortable in her own skin and it look like she is constantly on the verge of tears and embarrassed by herself. I'll admit that I thought I would get a laugh out of it, but that was just terrible. I feel really bad for her.

Wait a minute, these kids actually yell curse words in public areas? After all I've read about Tourettes at this point I assumed that was just a childish stereotype.


Edit: Wierd. Oliver Sacks never talked about this.

As much as I wanted to get a laugh out of it I really just felt bad for them.

The Youtube comments are especially pathetic on these, too.

I think dating a girl with touretts could be cool. You would get the truth from here like "I WANNA SUCK YOUR COCK!" or "I LIKE IT UP THE ASS!"....then again she could blurt out bad stuff about you "SMALL DICK!" or "MINUTE MAN!"
