Not getting my hopes up just yet. Will wait for Sonys conference.
His game is probably not "conference worthy". Expect it to be announced in a quiet PR pic dump afterwards.

He's worked for sony for almost 10 years. He left Konami after SH1.
Well fuck me! Haha. Thanks Kev. I'm super excited to see what he's working on, as Siren(PS2 and PS3), and Silent Hill are still some of my most regarded games ever. Hype!

ULTROS!

People seem to like me because I am polite and I am rarely late. I like to eat ice cream and I really enjoy a nice pair of slacks.
Hope they create a new horror IP though.

I'm hungry for survival horror games (thus I'm hyped for REC:VX HD and Silent Hill Collection HD).

Toyama!!!!! hell yeah team Siren, Please be a real survival horror on PS3.

Also nice to see that SCE Japan Studio is still making games ( Bleach don't count).

Aahh! SCE Japan has a pulse. Amazing.

Looking forward to seeing what it might be. Would be cool if it were a dual PS3+NGP project.

perfect time for a NGP game using the back camera and front i guess. there was a DS game where it would make this awesome cool idea of a ghost game.

Sce's japan team, excluded polyphony, is composed by 350 devs. I know you all think about the japanese division as something with thousands of devs, but that's not the truth.

If you count all the psp and psn games, plus the usual ps3 retail games their output hasn't been so underwhelming, factoring in their workforce.

350 devs is much less than the english sony division: london, cambridge, liverpool; let alone adding evolution, media molecule and bigbig studios.

it's really surprised me that, of all the games i've played this gen, siren continues to be one of my fondest memories. weird, funky, & sometimes just plain dumb, but incredibly effective, seriously creepy, & very memorable...

so, yeah, this could be nice :) ...

Siren Blood Curse had a pretty quick release after they announced it, and it's been four years since Blood Curse. Hope we get a quick release for this.

And released a month after being announced. That's how SIREN: New Translation was released.

Still, kind of excited. Hopefully it's a new horror game. On PS3 not NGP please.

Speaks volumes for his output in that time that the question was raised though. :-\

I get the impression that SCEJ lets their visionary designers take whatever time they want to create their game. Thus why Team GT, Team ICO, and Team Siren seem to take a long time at creating their games. As long as it produces quality game I don't really mind though.

Isnt this just going to be the full showing of Gravity Daze for Vita/NGP?

19 Seconds in.

Keiichiro Sotoyama (SCEJ -- Siren)
"He's working on Gravity Daze for NGP and said that he believes 2011 will be the first time in a while he'll be able to do stuff that gets shown to people."

That's pretty shocking since Gravity Daze looked a lot like something that would come from Alvion. I guess it's nice to see him working on something outside of horror games.

So he went from Snatcher..to Silent Hill..to Siren..now he is making a jumping loli game. :/

I refuse this awful reality.

Gravity Daze was compelling in the video montage. Can not to see how it looks now, hopefully the more attention to detail has been given to the character design.

Need to do something about the bloom effect/paleness. Stuck out to me the first time I saw it.

Gravity Daze? Really?

Whatever it is, I hope it's something fun and original. I still have faith in Toyama.

A proper DISC BASED Siren sequel would make me very very very happy.
You can import a disc version of Siren New Translation rather easily.

Almost three, actually.

Whoever translated the Japanese blog article didn't understand that the guy was just extrapolating based on the presence of the word "memai" (i.e. "daze") in the original quote. Could be it, but I'd rather wait for some facts.
(... and he called Toyama "Sotoyama", too... for shame!)
