TPCi officially announce Magearna, a new Mythical Pokémon

http://www.pokemon.com/us/pokemon-news/a-new-mythical-pokemon-has-been-discovered/

Magearna
Category: Artificial Pokémon
Height: 3'03”
Weight: 177.5 lbs.

Meet Magearna, the latest Mythical Pokémon to be discovered! Known as the Artificial Pokémon, Magearna has a metallic body and was created by humans 500 years ago. You'll be able to see Magearna when it appears in the next Pokémon movie, expected to come out later in 2016!

In this latest cinematic adventure, Ash meets the Mythical Pokémon Volcanion when it crashes down from the sky, creating a cloud of dust —and a mysterious force binds the two of them together! Volcanion despises humans and tries to get away, but it's forced to drag Ash along as it continues its rescue mission. They arrive in a city of cogs and gears, where a corrupt minister has stolen the ultimate invention: the Artificial Pokémon Magearna, created 500 years ago. He plans to use its mysterious power to take control of this mechanical kingdom! Can Ash and Volcanion work together to rescue Magearna? One of the greatest battles in Pokémon history is about to unfold!

Look forward to many more details about the Mythical Pokémon Magearna and the next Pokémon movie, expected later this year!

Robots are pokemon now? I get bioengineered ones, like Mewtwo, but is an "artificial Pokemon" a Pokemon?

I mean, there's Porygon. And the magnet fellas. I just don't know anymore.

MUCH better name, good job translation team. No mangina here!

That's probably what the Japanese name is intended to be, you just can't render that it katakana.

Magiana = Magearna basically. I imagine if there's any Japanese merchandise that writes the name out in romanji it'll probably use the same spelling. Though sometimes they mess things up.

So since Volcanion is already in X/Y & ORAS, Magearna will be exclusive to Z? Is it possible to patch it into X/Y or ORAS?

Category :Artificial. Yeah no shit.

i know you're just shit posting but like i said in the other thread, its a shitty category since we've had artificially made pokemon since gen 1; gen 1 alone had 2, 3 if you go by the theories that ditto is a failed mew clone.

I don't understand the name. Anyone have any idea of where this name might come from?

EDIT: Oh, just stopped pronouncing it like ma-jeer-na and started seeing it as ma-gear-na and it makes way more sense. Nevermind. I wonder if the "mana" (or "man"?) aspect will be relevant or if those are just filler syllables.

DOUBLE EDIT: Reading the Coro Coro thread continues to be enlightening. Saw the parallel to "machina." That makes sense.

it is possible but they won't do it like they didn't patch the new Mega Evos from ORAS into XY.

this is either a Z exclusive or a Gen 7 poke.

People in here crashing their rep by the same old silliness and I'm wondering if it's going to be another Steel/Fairy (watch, new Fairy attacks with 90+ BP here or in the next game).
