Because of the A) Availability of the game (it's free) B) the relatively low PC requirements and the C) Short learning curve, I think this could be a lot of fun.

Basically, the idea is this. 3 different events: Time Attack, Team Time Attack, and perhaps with some volunteers to spectate to do spectating/scoring a Trick Challenge sort of thing, using a custom track.

That's the preliminary thought. Anyone else interested/care/masturbating?

After tinkering with the track editor some, I have an idea for how trick challenges would end up working out. Basically, it'll be mostly grass with a handful of tarmac parts with ramps/humps and what not that you can use at your leisure. I'm like to encourage skill over just ramming into shit and flipping out all willy nilly, so there'd be some guidelines as to how judging would/should go.

I'm thinking it's a pretty bad track compared to what I've done in TM:S, with a pretty bad developer time to boot, but whatever.

Yeah, well we can also make an offline timechallenge. Everyone races on a determined track and submits his best time (only once) anonymously to the master of ceremonies (per PN).
As a variation, the MC then submits the rankings (without times) and you can try to correct your time one last time. I just made that up :]

The only situation is that there are people out there claiming it has spyware when it doesn't. It does, however, have copy protection software that is obnoxious for some and unnoticed by many left into the game to prevent this game's executable from being compared to TM:S (same engine).

Alright, so, there'll be 10 races for the time attack and team time attack, 6 minutes a round. 3 people per team for the team races. The trick challenge requires more thought and man hours than I think most of GAF wants to put forth, so that half baked idea is out. The singular and team time attacks will be on different days so that we don't suck up too much of anyone's time.

The 10 tracks can be from anyone, but the 10 tracks will be chosen via popular vote.

Boom shakalaka, get to it.

I don't know... Should we stick to GAF-made tracks? I think it'd be a cool idea, but I don't know how much effort people are willing to put into things.

I finally downloaded this game today (I don't see any spyware). Can someone tell me how to change the controls? Playing a racing game with just the up, down, left and right arrows is kind of hard.

Yeah you can, from the main menu go to profile > advanced settings > configure driving input.
