Turok 2 (canceled 360/PS3) Art/Renders/Screens - Feathers, Scales, and Spikes, Oh My!

Well, the last game was... enjoyable in some way, but in others pretty mediocre. I mean, Turok must be about Turok hunting and killing lots of dinos, but not about Turok killing lots of dinos and stupid humans. I don't know if there is a way to write a good enough script and compelling story for the game without humans and all that, but... I just want to hunt and shoot dinos in my Turok game just like Predator but with badass bow and without presence of yet another evil corporation or organization to spoil the fun. I don't know if this makes any sense but these are my thoughts (^_______^)

Concept arts looks nice, but it's hard to say if they could be turned into a great game. The first rebooted Turok was pretty bad.

I dunno. I would more go for an adventure / hunting game with Dinosaurs in it moreso then a Space Marine vs. Dinosaur game.

I'd like to be stuck on gigantic Just Cause 2 esque island landscape where I have to crawl around and hide from Dinosaurs and set up traps to catch them and run for my life from Raptors and climb trees and shit like that. Would be terrifying and awesome.

Especially including dynamic weather and such too and day/night cycles. Where if it is night time you have to get to a safe spot ala Minecraft or something and if it raining it makes visibility that much lower and you could at any moment have a dinosaur on your ass.

You could have plenty of awe inspiring nice moments like in Jurassic Park mixed with tons of high intensity / nerve wracking moments ala Alien Isolation and games of that nature where you are being hunted.

You just described a perfect Turok game for me (^__^)
It's so sad thought that this won't be happening, not with the help of kickstarter at least. It must be a game with AAA quality.

Hype increased, and added myself to the mailing list. Hopefully it's man v dino focused. All I ask for of it.

This is awesome. I played the hell out of Turok 1 and 2, never played the newer ones though.

With Sony buying the rights to Valiant Comics films, does anyone see a chance of a Turok film in the near future? I know they have the first few planned out but a Turok movie could be so cool.

Valiant doesn't own the license, so no.

The Isle sounds right up your alley (Currently in dev)
11155096_1101674993179768_411451085713259531_o.jpg

Introducing our first human faction: The Ranger. Adept at tracking other players, superior wilderness survival, and capable of bonding with a dinosaur player, Rangers command the respect of the natural inhabitants.

The Isle is a first and third person survival game which will pit human teams against one another in an intense environment. Three separate player-controlled human teams will have to balance food, thirst, ammo, and other resources while vying for control over island POI's and contending with player-controlled dinosaurs. On top of this open sandbox world, individuals will be able to create private sessions with their own custom game-modes and rules.

There is no set path or direction on any island featured with The Isle. If you see it, chances are you can get there on foot or vehicle. Every area can be reach with the right tools; from the highest mountain to the deepest cave. Humans will have the chance to scavenge or repair vehicles, from simple two-man quads to eight-man humvees, and even small bumblebee helicopters. Dinosaurs, of course, cannot drive. However, some can open doors like the clever girls they are, effectively allowing deinonychus/Megaraptors to occupy facilities without blatantly destroying doors.

The Isle will take place in an isle of several remote locations. Vega's machinations known only as "Project Lazarus" chose an isle within international waters to continue the research, development, and distribution of military bio-organic weapons (B.O.W.'s) without government restrictions or law. These serve as the testing ground for the observation, processing, and continual cycle of development upgrades to artificial creatures based off of their prehistoric counter-parts.

Coming Soon.

Probably not very good. We tend to eat herbivores more for a reason.
Well I don't know about the taste, but maybe we eat herbivores more also because they're way easier to breed (and they were easier to hunt back in the days).
Aside from all the difficulties (and thus costs) for handling aggressive (because predatory) cattle, the mere rising of a carnivore (vs a herbivore) would be significantly more expensive, since there's an extra step in the cycle:
plants for cattle > meat for human
plants for cattle > meat for carnivore cattle > meat for human
(unless you hunt the meat for the carnivore cattle, which could be still quite expensive vs growing crops).

I've always had a soft spot for Turok (being Native American myself).

This image was one of so many that put me on the N64 hype train.

We need more games starring badass Native Americans who blow up aliens and stab velociraptor's in the FACE.

If you aren't following Bish's twitter he put out some new info related to what would have been in Turok 2.
Basically you would have started the game with the Knife from Turok 2008 and at some point lost it. Resorting to making your own knife from bone. Then at some point you could get a knife similar to the original back. But at that point what you used was up to you.
Seems like a cool idea to me especially since I get the hinting customization might have been a part of it there. The knife was amazing in 2008.
However knife kills wouldn't have been as easy as they were in the original going to update the post

Knives
-Knives in #Turok2 were more integral to the storyline than our 2009 original. Where you were physical/mental was part of your weapon
-I can't tell you how many people loved the knife in T1, it was your best friend, your never-fail fallback, always there. #Turok2
-the story of redemption reflected in your prime #Turok2 weapon? http://eepurl.com/bmujJ9 GENIUS.
-initial knife - your standard T1 pigsticker, prettied up for the #Turok2 sequel. Think the #Rambo knife on those Barry Bonds PEDs
-now the 2nd portion of the journey, we break the plyr down and that's reflected in the #Turok2 knife
-#Rambo knife? GONE, SON. into the ether. plyr must scrap/survive with all his tech advantages stripped away. oh and there's dinos everywhere
-Setting traps (more on this later) to bring down #Turok2 predators. Skin em. Rip out a femur. Sharpen and wrap with dried ligaments.
-this 2nd #Turok2 knife is the pure distilled essence of primal. you EARN this. The currency is blood. fear. terror. http://eepurl.com/bmujJ9
-the #Turok2 journey takes you from #SurvivalAction to #SurvivalHorror, reflected each time you look down into your hand
-now we come through the other side for knife 3 in #Turok2. you control the elements, but w/o reliance on tech. you've been thru the fire.
-Forged like a knife's steel (hey!!), http://eepurl.com/bmujJ9 much stronger and smarter. #Turok2
-The twist is that your knife going forward in #Turok2 is up to you. Stick w/primal or obtain a new #Rambo pigsticker http://eepurl.com/bmujJ9
-Gameplay decisions that SUPPORT narrative instd of creating more work is HARD work. #Turok2 knives is a small example of how it can succeed
-No A/B choices that pull you down the designer's track. This would have been all you, demo'd each time you use YOUR knife. Your story.
-ok that's it for #Turok2 knife design today. http://eepurl.com/bmujJ9 Anyone here a fan of the Cerebral Bore?

New Weapons
-NO more OP knives in #Turok2. http://eepurl.com/bmujJ9 Force plyr to stun/circle from front, or sneak up from behind. #sosatisfying
-Best new #Turok2 weapon http://eepurl.com/bmujJ9 called #Balefire. Dualsupport - charged cannon or timed explosive a la Predator ending #BOOM
-when I say like the Predator ending, I mean http://eepurl.com/bmujJ9 CRAZY enviro destruction. Trees, buildings, whatever #Turok2 #ohmy
-Multiple arrow types for #Turok2 http://eepurl.com/bmujJ9 I'll go through what I remember #Hawkeye #fullquiver #areyoukidding
-1st: Reg arrows in #Turok2 http://eepurl.com/bmujJ9 aim, shoot, stick. Retrieve arrows from dead #dinos. More pinning opps against NPCs.
-2: Tracking arrows http://eepurl.com/bmujJ9 more hunting scenarios in #Turok2 than orig. Hit em, follow Aliens-style at safe distance, harvest
-3: electric arrows http://eepurl.com/bmujJ9 Stun #dino nervous system for area control then they wake up PISSED #Turok2
-4. flare arrows http://eepurl.com/bmujJ9 attract other #dinos to your target to do dirty work for you. #Turok2
-There were more #Turok2 arrow types http://eepurl.com/bmujJ9 but I can't give them all away. Who wants to talk knives instead?

Weird cuz I had Turok 2 on N64 (the only game I ever bought for the system lol....borrowed the rest from friends). It was called Seeds of Evil and had the awesome Cerebral Bore gun. Also had a Turok game on Xbox, forget what it was called but it was real shit....the flamethrower looked cool though.

Oh man, I really wish I could find more concept art from this game. Hell, even a powerpoint presentation with a development roadmap would have been cool to see.
