This is really unfortunate but to compare this to Rosa Parks is laughable.

Yeah i wasnt comparing it to her but you actually can compare it to her..

So muslims dont have any rights? Try and tell the pilot you dont feel safe with an african american on your plane today and see what happens. It would be on every newspaper and every news channel in the country. This story will get brushed under the rug in 2 days

Typical terrible journalism.

We have no information from the passengers on board. The airline has yet to state the reasons for the removal.

Most of the article information is from the 2 Inams that were kicked off ... however really considering their heading to a 'islamaphobia' conference (you know that term that indicates religious preference as a race).

What we do know is that it takes a lot for a pilot to openly refuse to fly ... which poses some serious questions.

Oh how the left media has demonised the EDL lol.

You know how the EDL formed? It formed out a group that marched against Muslims attacking and protesting returning soldiers, spitting and shouting at these men that put their lives on the line for our country.

But no it's racist and bigoted to march against such hatred right ...

I mean seriously how fucked up is this world getting if a group of people glorifying and praising a known terrorist that has resulted in tens of thousands of innocent peoples deaths ... get protested ... and they both get labeled as idiots ...

Really ...

I think that comparing it to her directly would be incorrect, and I think that in some senses a broader comparison is also lacking. However history doesn't repeat itself, it rhymes. There are certainly points of comparison between the two situations, however Muslims were never enslaved, and they do technically, at least technically, have equal rights under the law.

So, they were going to a conference on Islamophobia and religious tolerance in...

...

North Carolina?

You pinko-liberals will be looking foolish when it comes out that they were wearing this watch:

Funny. I could have sworn a guy by your nickname in another thread was protecting the EDL.

so in the end, bin laden trolled the members of his own religion more than anyone or anything else

mission accomplished

Yeah. They probably made it all up. I agree. Those bloody Inams.

Would you like to speculate on what questions it raises? Or maybe postulate what the REAL reason is? We all know how rare discrimination against Muslims or people who look like them is.

Inam means reward in my language.

I hear what you're saying but Read up on the Rosa Park's situation.

What Muslims are going through is no where near the persecution Blacks went through at the time.

Those videos made me sad. It's becoming an increasingly common occurrence that random chavs shout racist stuff at me as I walk around the streets, too.

I can't wait to leave this fucked up country.

You don't have to leave the country, just move to an area that isn't racist, for example Central London is a pretty sweet place to live

I think that in this sense it becomes hard to seperate what they think a Muslim looks like, with racial stereotypes of Arabs, which are based in racism

I remember a story where two Egyptians where attacked during the ground zero mosque protests by protestors at the site and after cops came and got them out turns out they were Christians who were also opposing the mosque.

A man walks through the crowd at the Ground Zero protest and is mistaken as a Muslim. The crowd turns on him and confronts him. The man in the blue hard hat calls him a coward and tries to fight him. The tall man who I think was one of the organizers tried to get between the two men. Later I caught up with the man who's name is Kenny. He is a Union carpenter who works at Ground Zero. We discussed what a scary moment that was for him.

Well, I've always lived in Leeds ever since I was a kid. Up until a year or two ago, I could count the number of times someone had made a racial slur towards me on one hand. Recently, though, it has been happening at least once or twice a week. It's crazy.

The more I've travelled, though, the more I've come to realise how much I dislike England in general. The increase in racism is just another thing to add to my "reasons to leave" list. It's not the only thing on there, though. :P

I hope you find a place that isn't full of ignorant biggots :)

Legal action would be justified. What was most surprising there was the pilot's refusal even though the two men were cleared by security multiple times before and also checked again after they got on board.

I heard Canada isn't too bad?

Sadly a perfect place with completely open minded people doesn't exist. Just some areas are better than others.

can those guys take legal action against the airlines? i might have missed it but did they get a refund for their tickets or put onto another flight?

Me too, bud! I'm thinking of doing a tour living in a different city in a different country each month for a year. Should be fun! I definitely want to try living in London for a bit, though. I really do like the city and would love to spend some more time there.

You might want to go read my reply in that thread, in case you can't be bothered here it is.

Wow who would of thought you'd claim these muslims mourning the death of OBL are just the extremists ... while juding the EDL by it's most radical element ...

Sure I never said EDL didn't have dipshits in it. My bad. However their message, is understandable and completely legit.

(1) HUMAN RIGHTS: Protecting And Promoting Human Rights
(2) DEMOCRACY AND THE RULE OF LAW: Promoting Democracy And The Rule Of Law By Opposing Sharia
(3) PUBLIC EDUCATION: Ensuring That The Public Get A Balanced Picture Of Islam
(4) RESPECTING TRADITION: Promoting The Traditions And Culture Of England While At The Same Time Being Open To Embrace The Best That Other Cultures Can Offer
(5) INTERNATIONAL OUTLOOK: Working In Solidarity With Others Around The World

Those demons!!! How dare they.

No but in a country where the previous government has done nothing but shit on and destroy our culture, while aggressively pushing other foreign cultures and punishing those in their way ... there would be something wrong with us if our typical local yobs didn't start getting a little bit pissed off.

I wasn't commenting on the article in question, just the general 'EDL are all thugs and racists' attitude.

Here the article is completely sparing on information. Yet people seem determined to label the passengers racists and the pilot completely incompetent.

For all we know the Inams were refusing to listen to the cabin crew, not sitting down, shouting and causing distress among the rest of the passengers ...

For all we know the plane was charted by a KKK group and the pilot had sympathy to their ideals ... uncomfortable with a couple strangly dressed foreigners he decided to 'kick them off' so they could fly without distractions.

The article doesn't tell us shit ... and so untill the information comes out ... we should all just hold our judgment.

Rednecks make me uncomfortable. So do religious nuts.

I think I will endeavour to have them tossed off of whatever mode of conveyance they might share with me.

Oh wait I live in Canada, and that's fucking insane. Nevermind.

Okay this is pretty fucking horrible. =_=

Not even the subtle hint of profiling, its just GTFO Terrorist!!! smh....

*sigh*

Pilot should be fired.

These guys were double screened before they got on board and then taken off to be screened again, they clearly weren't carrying any weapons. Pilot still refuses to fly with them on board? Fuck him.

Pretty much.

Doesn't sound like a big problem except for the asshole pilot. I can understand wanting to re-screen people if there are complaints, and holding up the plane is a nice job of doing their best not to screw them over. The pilot needs to be fired for that attitude though.

Reminds me of the senior Pakistani military guys thrown off a flight on their way to the US to discuss CT cooperation.

It's kind of a bad precedent to set, though, isn't it? Someone who's already been properly screened has to go through again just because some of the passengers are uncomfortable. It's just icing on the cake when you add in cases like this.

Wow, that is shameful. Proper action must be taken against the idiot(s) in charge of this decision.

They were screened a total of 3 times, and the pilot still refused? Wtf.

The pilot refused because the passengers were throwing a tantrum over these two guys. I can see why he'd be uneasy about flying with passengers not being peaceful.

It is a sad news but things like this are bond to happen when Western media gives such a negative figure of Muslims
This. I understand that this is a crying shame, but is anyone really surprised by this? This is how people act when they see something they fear, and the USA has been trained to fear anyone from the middle east.

Quite frankly if I was from the Middle East it would be Americans that scare me. It seems horrifying to me to imagine walking around in traditional ME garb in a major city. I'd imagine that at this point they have more to fear of the average US citizen than the average US citizen has to fear of them.

This is not what the report says. Apparently he was the main cause, the passengers didn't care.
