What have you ever contributed that's been picked apart or shit on? Apply yourself to the conversation before you complain about it. Not everyone is going to agree with your opinion, and that's okay.

Well since you bothered, ill reply.

I mention I hope hominick doesnt get cut (3rd-4th loss) since hes really entertaining and has heart... and as usual and not unexpectedly... people are making fun of a fun fight. I dont get it - do you not want exciting fights? or would you rather see carpets fight in the UFC that "win" fights. What is the point of watching MMA?

I've seen many many jabs at minor comments people make - "oh i would like to see ___ vs ___" and people rip into it for no reason, endless trolling. Anyone brings up ANY fighter, and people (especially yourself, ahem), throw out the "fake, fights cans". How is this behavior even remotely conducive of discussion?

Do you REALLY not notice it? Do you not see the difference between opinion and blatant trolling?

Does MMA-Gaf actually talk about MMA at all? Anytime I check in there is 1 post about MMA followed by 3 pages of everything but MMA.

MMA isn't really like other sports. There is a lot more downtime between fights and most fights are known months ahead. The lack of news is what you really see. Nothing to talk about leads to talking about other subjects. And believe me when I say we chat a lot in IRC because we watch a lot of MMA together. Come into IRC next time we are watching some Tachi card or some Invicta.

Sakara hammerfisted the back of his head 5+ times.

Wow! So it wasn't even like punches to the back of the head while in guard that accidentally hit the back of the head? Blatant hammerfists to the back of his head? That is disgusting then.

And it knocked him out? Wow

I'm not particularly worried about it or anything. I barely even keep up with MMA anymore. Just something I noticed in MMA OTs where pages at a time are devoted to seemingly nonsense or talking about pop/creepy GAF. I haven't watched a single fight since Anderson/Chael II. Before that, I really don't know. Maybe Brock/Reem? My interested in MMA has dropped dramatically this year.

No, not out cold. He was damaged enough for the ref to stop the fight, though. Recovered pretty quickly.

It didn't KO him.

It looked like an "in the moment" thing. As in, I doubt Sakara was actively trying to Goodridge Cote or anything.

The most shocking thing about it is that the referee didn't do shit about it. As in, no verbal warnings, no attempted separation or time out. At least 5 blows to the back of the head with no reaction from him whatsoever before stopping the fight.

This year has been kind of bad. Too many injuries and not enough big fights.

Yeah, I did see that you took one reply and used it to make blanket statements about a whole community. Do you really think that's everyone's opinion?

I actually agree with you on Hominick, and we've gone into conversations about how UFC's "3 strikes and you're out" policy just makes guys fight safe in fear of being cut. If you're putting on a show you should stick around.

I'm not sure what you're talking about as far as making jabs about wanting to see X vs. X. Give some examples?

I think you've just been watching conversations from the sidelines and assume people are just shitting on anyone that comes along. We're just joking around with each other during the week when nothing is going on. I have never shit on anyone's opinion who didn't know I was joking with them.

Feel free to actually join the fray before forming opinions. No one bites, except Cheezy.

GSP is gonna take the Hendricks fight over Anderson. And GSP will end up with all the rest of Hendrick's kills.

Let's read Anna Karenina.

Tolstoy's masterpiece begins, "Happy families are all alike; every unhappy family is unhappy in its own way."This is the story of the unhappy family of Anna Karenina.

I was thinking maybe something abit more up beat..something set in World War II.
Ken Follet's Winter of the World perhaps?

Amazing that they can't sell out Toronto for 2 Jon Jones fights and Montreal for a GSP fight

They are pricing a lot of the tickets too high
Which is why they should stay away from Dallas. Their ticket prices are very expensive when compared to WWE, concerts, etc. But then again a fight on the level of GSP/Silva in a new market might sell out if they're smart. But I just don't see them filling Dallas.

I just really want to re-read Anna Karenina since I was 20 when I read it last.

Business is about to pick up. This was a good card and we have UFC on Fox and UFC 155-156, injuries are a part of any sport. Sucks the Ultimate Fighter finale got changed because of it.

All the arguments in this thread petty much sum up to be "my dad could beat up your dad", it is hilariously bad but enjoyable.

Bro do you enjoy being wrong?

I like GSP. He's a great fighter, but he is the safest fighter on the planet. He takes no risks that's why I want him to lose. Tonight's fight was a prime example. He stunned Condit a few times with the 1,2 and never went for the kill. Instead he either backed off or went for the take down. He never tries to counter strike with power. Counter jab or a soft cross, but never anything with power. He possibly could have finished this fight before he got hit with that head kick. I find him exciting, but annoying. And him being as safe as he is is probably why people keep calling him boring.

There are two TUF finales on the same day in December. Good times.

If you're one of the people concerned about the lack of MMA discussion (since none of you whiners actually contribute to MMA-GAF, you really shouldn't be), December should be a good month for discussion.

lol yeah, I had no idea MMA-GAF had X-Pac heat.

I bet if they presented the intelligent conversation that they desire they will be met with intelligent responses.

Don't be scared, homies. You can't complain about something if you're merely a spectator. The door is always open.

I don't even think it is the lack of big fights. It's that there are too many shows to keep up with. FX, Fox, Fuel shows, plus TUF and multiple PPVs a month. Plus every promotion that isn't the UFC. There is just too much to sort through that it is easier to skip most of them or wait for a best of at the end of the year kind of thing. Shit, I haven't watched an episode of TUF since season 3, and that was only a handful of episodes.

hey poly,

thought Carlos was supposed to take the decision here. what happen?
I was wrong, Slippery Georges is back to being the same Slippery Georges from before the injury as far as we could tell and that is quite remarkable. Also, Conduit tried employing his baby kick/kalib starnes gameplan in the first 3 rounds or so thinking it could work and it didn't. The Natural Born Killer didn't resurface in that fight until it was too late. Had he been that aggressive from the start it could've been a different fight.

I'm still not a GSP fan. The guys he says are impossible to finish get finished by scrubs right after he takes a boring decision out of them. Conduit most likely being the exception to this as he actually is hard to finish.

Maybe the decision weakens those fighters so they can be finished in a later fight. Like when you twist and twist trying to open a jar, and then your little sister walks in and opens it with no problem. She did it because you got it loose.

wow......did not expect this.....I was on the edge of my seat watching this fight the whole time. I did have a bet goin on it(a shot of crown). But it was pretty much the GSP style of strikes leading to takedowns, but I did really feel this time he was stepping it up and was not in any way doing lay n pray. The headkick showed how carless he was at times, condit looked scared the whole damn time. If there is GSP hate going on??? I can not believe people realize how momentous this event was. I humble and chill UFC champion, who almost had his career cut short, went into that octagon tonight and fought his heart out. Evidence by his face and his opponents....

His head is so big. Also, why do guys dress up in suits to go to the post fight press conferences? Who the fuck puts on a suit after getting punched in the head and bleeding for 25 minutes?

So GSP won? Amazing.
He is probably the classiest UFC champion ever.

EDIT: Wow damn at that Condit high kick.
