Porn might be one of those things that make a lot of people starting to browse through a vpn though. And that also gives them access to all the other things the government didn't want them to have (like the pirate bay and stuff like that). Mission unaccomplished again.

Teachers and parents. The parents have the most important role in this. I feel this is forgotten mostly and people just want to push this responsibility off to a school because it might be awkward to talk about. They should educate their child about these things. They should also monitor what their child is up to online to a certain point, so if they are looking at extreme things, you can have a talk about that.

However, we are now living a transition phase where lots of kids have more knowledge of the internet and computers than what their parents can deal with.

When I was young, parents were basically totally oblivious about what we were doing with our computers. So basically in my days we were able to hide things way better than people today. But there weren't that many teens interested in computers back in the day. Even in the end of the 90s there were still huge amount of people who weren't interested in computers and internet at all. Today pretty much every kid has access to the internet. Granted, they don't necessarily have PCs to play with, as they have phones and tablets. The reality still is that the moms and dads are the majority of people from my youth who weren't dealing as much with computers and internet.

There seems to be lots of people who actually think kids don't have the knowledge to access porn on the internet when in reality it's easier than ever. Or they think they don't have the interest to look for it. Which is also wrong.

It's hard for the parents to control something they don't have even the basic knowledge of. And even with basic knowledge they are way behind their kids. And even if they are educated about the ways to control it, it could be they just aren't anymore able to learn it effectively enough.

I guess the only solution would be to make all porn accessible only by paying for it. But that will never ever ever never ever happen as the "free porn" sites rely on advertisement money, and ad money is easiest to get with porn.

Oh sure. I remember the time when paper recycling boxes (or whatever they are called in English language) had at least one porn magazine out of ten boxes. One scouting mission would most certainly guarantee at least one magazine.

And very often an underwear catalog would do the trick. Just find the page where you can see nipples through the bra, or pubic hair showing through the panties.

There is still a difference in having a lifetime worth of porn - from the whole spectrum of fetishes, from everything between gentle and rough as fuck porn - behind a couple of clicks, than to scout a magazine here and there or to have a cousin loan you a VHS tape from his "huge" 30 tape collection. Or to secretly record an xxx movie from a pay channel your dad had paid.

It's like comparing mixtape trading to full blown p2p 24/7 music piracy. Sure at core both are the same, but surely they are way different at least in scale.

I don't quite get what people are afraid of. That it would somehow leak to others that you have proved your age to be able to watch porn? Or maybe it's a security issue because of having to give your credit card information? If so, how can they buy anything from the internet?

From what I read (I could be wrong) all you need is a valid passport (and it doesn't have to be British) as a form of ID to apply for a drivers license. Your own embassy should be able to give you one and it shouldn't cost too much.
