Jay-Z - American Gangster

...

Not really; I actually think Jay-Z is jealous that Kanye dropped another great album in 3 years. Jay is a hater.

I really like some of the tracks on it (Ultimate Vacation, Pimp Mode), but there's a lot I don't like. I liked almost every song on The Sound of Revenge. Maybe I need to listen to it some more.

Wu-Tang's isn't out till November so... And then Jay Z... And then then Lupe... So there still is a lot more heavy hitters comin to decide but for now... the best.... hmmm.. I would say

Common, Finding Forever

You are absolutely insane. Finding forever isn't even a good album.

Finding forever is a fantastic album, don't know what you heard. Talib Kwelis Eardrum is pure dopeness, every track is perfection. Dunno what I would pick for my album of the year. UGKs LP was pretty hot as well.

Ah hell naw!

You really don't like Common do you? I don't understand. Have you liked any of his albums or is it just Finding Forever?

Common blows (except for his first two albums)

That, and Wu-Tang isn't until December.

If I had to pick the best Rap album that's already out this year, I'd have to go with:

I'm with the OP. I can listen to every track. Best Rap album I've heard in a while. Not a fan of the UGK album, though Chamillionaire mentions them in his album.

finding forever is by far not good. Be was amazing, and finding forever is a huge downgrade from Be. Sure there is some good songs, but there are some terrible ones too. ("I Want You"). Whereas Be was thrilling from beginning to end, finding foerever falls short.

chamillionaire, rap album of the year? no thanks. UGK wins so far, but there is too many high profile releases to end the year out to say anything now.

My favorite albums this year for me so far

1. Finding Forever (Common)
2. Graduation (Kanye)
3. Mystery Repeats (Pete Philly and Perquisite)
4. Underground Kingz (UGK)
5. Getback (Little Brother)
6. None Shall Pass (Aesop Rock)
7. Ultimate Victory (Chamillionaire)

Really though, there are damn good albums. If 11th Hour hit this year (Del's first new album in 7 years!!.. well now it's gunna be 8..) I'm sure that would be my favorite. But yeah,, now it's scheduled for early spring 08.

Also, I've been listening to a lot of Nelly - Suit again, I know it's old, but dam, is this a good album.

Pharaoh Monch's album shits all over FF

Jay-Z's album is going to suck, don't believe the hype. Lupe might do something interesting, but the tracks I've heard have been lackluster.

Pimp C and Bun B both make appearances on Ultimate Victory as well.

God, every time something talks about HipHop, someone has to bring up that sup-par rapper (who had like 2 good songs on his last album). I would say Graduation is the best album, but now that the hype has cooled down, I think it is just above average.

You say Common is a sub par rapper than follow that up with saying Kany had your favorite album of the year???

:lol

ok, now I know ya'll are crazy.

Wow people are listing Graduation as the top one or two Rap Albums of 2007 so far. Has it been that shitty of a year for rap?

I said that I would, but now I see it as above average. Get your facts straight. I can't really say who my favorite is right now, have to wait until the end of the year first.

that may be true but you know jay is getting in on that remix anyway :lol

UGK's was indeed great, but didn't need to be 29 tracks long.

For me it's

no, wait

lots of good hip hop this year, really...plus, Lupe, Saigon, David Banner, Jay-Z, Nas, Ghostface, and 8 Diagrams in the next 2 months!

Oh, and maybe uh, what's Cam callin it now? "Public Enemy Nr. 1"?

I bought Ultimate Victory the day it came out. Same with Twistas album Adrenaline Rush 2007. I've listened to Twistas CD maybe for 4 hours, and Chamillionaires for about 40. I can't stop listening to it. Pimp Mode, Industry Groupie, Ultimate Victory, I love all the tracks except for Rock Star

my favorite albums:

1. UGK - Underground Kingz
2. Brother Ali - Undisputed Truth
3. Black Milk - Popular Demand

The Cham album sounded way too similar all throughout. His singing got on my nerves, and the beats weren't hittin to me. Just my opinion :)

Dude, you like Aesop Rock. Obviously you're going to love all the Common shit.

Hip Hop Lives

or

Jazzmatazz Vol. 4

Ear drum and Finding Forever had a few good tracks, Desire was real good overall but I prefer the first two albums I mentioned.

Just Finding Forever, he just comes off like an igorant hypocrite. Not even good beats could save rhymes like "You look gay, no thats the guy from N'synkay"

It was a joke dude. Everyone knows who he was referring to; Common has uttered lyrics far worse than that, in terms of being homophobic (brokeback ain't the way of the game). I still hate that song tho

1. Pharaoh Monch - Desire
2. Talib Kweli - Eardrum
3. Kanye West - Graduation
4. Common - Finding Forever
5. Brother Ali - The Undisputed Truth

You guys are sleepin on Eardrum
