Ultra Street Fighter 4 PC dropping GFWL for Steamworks

So, my concern about this is that I have the standalone GFWL SSF4 AE client downloaded from Amazon games. Now, there's an upgrade path from AE to ultra according to them, and it's now confirmed that they're transitioning to Steam, what about us on the GFWL version? We will get Steam keys or, what?

edit:

I mean my $15 to upgrade to steam USF4?

One DRM for another but let's all pretend it means something like the fauxnboys we are.
Dropping one DRM for the DRM that was there anyway and will actually be around long term is a little bit of a plus.

Just a note for the OP, Haunts is preparing a fact sheet about the PC version, so probably lots more info "coming soon".

Or he can just post here himself :p

Now then, just show me what version I can buy DAY ONE, where I get the ENTIRE game, costumes, the 5 pre order bonus costumes included, the entire kit and caboodle for the PC?

Philip J Fry gif and all.

My concern as well.

That's a concern for me as well as I'm in the same position, but I'd buy the whole thing over to get the whole package and be done if it'd be easier. I'm not gonna pay no mind to an extra $15.

I'm curious about this too because it seems like I can make more room on my desk by chucking out the SSF4:AE PC game I have.
I have been speculating on this for a while, and my guess has always been GFWL multiplayer will not be supported at all for the USFIV release.

There will be two separate registry apps for other versions of SFIV and USFIV, you will have to upgrade your previous GFWL version to get the new characters and multiplayer netcode.

When you upgrade, the original SFIV entry will be deleted from your library to be replaced by the Ultra version. Capcom will also remove older SFIV titles for sale on Steam.

Somehow i was expecting you to make this thread

Guess i'll double dip SF4 for PC then.
I am not a fighting game fan, so I don't follow the scene as much as some of these other guys.

Why Microsoft don't scrap GFWL and migrate everything to Windows' Xbox/App? That GFWL stinks.
They've pretty much abandoned it and PC gaming. It's a matter of publishers reworking their titles to not be GFWL titles to Steamworks.

Maybe that'll be addressed in the upcoming "PC deets" Haunts mentions. Try tweeting it to him and see if he responds.
